00:00:15Hey guys, it's Tim. And welcome to episode 138 of The Dreaming of Disney Podcasts. And I'm with my beautiful wife, Audrey. It's like you forgot my name again. Hello. Dramatic pause. Like, like maybe he's going to say a different name this time. It's been a while since we recorded. Maybe. I forgot. Maybe there's a a new wife that you know, audience didn't know about. Never a new wife. Hello, I wonder what episode we'd be on if we had never taken a break. We'd probably be. Because we're four years in.
00:00:54We'd be over 300. Are we four years in? We just had the anniversary. Was it 403? It was four years. Oh my gosh. Yeah, 'cause it was right after our first Disney World trip. Yeah, that we started. Which was March of 2022. Two more Yes, yes, yes. Yeah. So yeah. Yeah, so we'd have a lot of episodes, but you know what? This is for fun. Quality over quantity, that's what we say. And we've put out some quality there. Super quality. OK. Speaking of quality. What?
00:01:36So 2 weeks ago we went to a concert. Speaking of quality. Super quality so this. Is something that might seem totally out of the blue if you only listen to the podcast. If you are not, if you don't know us on TikTok and have come into our lives there, you might not know about my history with John Stamos. Your history, You guys go way back. No really not OK but I mean I am an elder millennial So what was my favorite show growing up? Full House. Who was my first crush? Uncle Jesse. Also Zack Morris tide Bob Saget. No Zack Morris and uncle Jesse. OK, so when I started going live on TikTok in the Disney in our
00:02:40podcast page on TikTok, some our friend Aaron came in and just mentioned that he had like gone to D23 and met John Stamos. And I started talking about how I like, didn't you know how excited I would because I know John Stamos loves Disneyland. He loves the Disneyland hotel as our favorite hotel. So he just started talking about this and I just started saying I was like, Oh my gosh, I don't even know what I would do if I met John Stamos. Like I'd be like, you know, and it just became this joke that I was like totally in love with John Stamos. Was he my first crush? Yes, yes, he was. But it became this like, like everyone would come in as the community grew on TikTok, so
00:03:27many different people that had seen or met John Stamos. So it just became this like joke. It's kind of like when I was in high school and SpongeBob was really popular and I like bought one SpongeBob thing because it was like, it was a funny Spongebob's funny. I bought one SpongeBob thing and someone saw it, so they bought me a SpongeBob thing. And then someone else saw it and bought me a SpongeBob thing. And then my mom was like, oh, you love SpongeBob, I'm going to buy you SpongeBob things. And before you knew it, I had all this SpongeBob stuff and I was like, OK, like, I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm a fan, but it's, it's become more of like this joke.
00:04:03Yeah. Also, though I did, I have always wanted to see The Beach Boys. I grew up on The Beach Boys. My mom loved The Beach Boys. We were going to go see them once when I was like, I don't know, I think I was in high school, but we never got to go. I think that was before you. Call them the Beach Boy now. Yeah, I mean, I think that was even. Hey, Steph, I think that was even before I knew that John Stamos toured with The Beach Boys. Like, I didn't really know that. I remember when I was little then being on Full House, but I didn't know that, like John Stamos toured with them when I was in high school when my mom
00:04:42and I wanted to go see The Beach Boys. We wanted to go see The Beach Boys because she grew up loving The Beach Boys, you know? But then, you know, as an adult, I found out he toured and I was like, Oh my gosh. Well, he really wants to. Part of the band in the 80s. Yeah, he joined like before Full house. Yeah, so. But I didn't know that. And so, but I've always wanted to see The Beach Boys just for my mom. So then a couple weeks ago, you text me at work when you were at work and you said The Beach Boys and John Stamos are going to be in a city near us, you know, on Friday. Well, I got to, I have to tell
00:05:14you the story about how I did tell you a story. I got to tell our listeners the story of how I found out because I found out two days before the concert. So I was at work and I work at ATV station. And so I was working on a video. I had my headphones on, but I can still hear things around me. And my coworkers who were next to me, they're they were talking about, you know, about upcoming, you know, content and stuff that they could, you know, have interviews in, in studio interviews. And so I heard when the producer say, oh, yeah, you know, we're, we're trying to get John Stamos. And I immediately took off my headphones. I was like John Stamos.
00:06:07I could just see you pop it out of your cubicle. Excuse me? Well, I keep to myself because I, I, I'm usually very busy at work, so I just keep my headphones on. I kind of get into it, but my Co workers know that I'm interested in something when I go, when I just go, when I when I, you know, sit up and take my headphones off. Oh, he's deciding to speak to us now. Yeah. And so and, and so I was like John Stamos. And they're like, yeah, he's touring with The Beach Boys. He's going to be here on Friday. And so we're trying to get him in the station for a live interview.
00:06:44And I'm like, I need to know if tickets are available because my wife loves John Stamos and she would be very upset if. The Beach Boys. If she found out that they were here and didn't know about it and so quickly looked online and there were still tickets available. That's why I text you and. And all caps, by the way. Yeah, John. Stamos And that was like so you got tickets, got a sitter and it. Worked out like it was meant to be. It was meant to be, it was really fun. And it it is sad, though, because there's only there's only one original member in the official Beach Boys.
00:07:28Mike Love right Judah, I mean he is he's 85, so like he's 85 and had just got back from Europe, but he's 85. So he's like he's very frail looking Voice is obviously not there. You know, I mean, he, he does not sound great. There is another original member still alive and he tours under a different name because there's been lawsuits and things, which is sad, but. Bad blood. Taylor Swift. But but. That's what Taylor Swift wrote Bad blood about the feud. Between people, probably. Probably. I bet you everything. I bet you anything you did not Olivia.
00:08:18See, here's what I'm saying. I mean, I believe you. I'm kidding. But Amy. OK, it is filtering like every comment I like. It's so weird. Hello. OK, wait. So John Stamos, he sounds good. And he he plays the guitar, he plays the drums, he plays the piano. But Mike Love. Yeah, I sent it to you. It's OK. You're here now. That's all that matters. For podcast listeners, we are live on TikTok. I always have to remind them because Audrey gets distracted by the comments. But.
00:09:02And I'm not going to edit this out, I'm just going. To leave it that's fine, but anyways, but it was still a cool experience like it it did feel like I was a little sad like it didn't feel like the same Beach Boys that my mom and I would have been able to see like 20 years ago. But so afterwards I did wear my Jesse and the Rippers shirt, but I was not the only one unfortunately and. They and they did sing. Johnson was did sing. Forever. It was great, Kokomo, Good vibrations, all the great. It wasn't just about John Stamos, you guys. I really did want to see The Beach Boys. It really did.
00:09:43But so after we like kind of they could they you'll just be like Milli Vanilli. So they, we like we're kind of hanging out around where they went behind the stage when the show was over just in case. And he did come out to take some pictures with like one of his bodyguards family. And I got a picture of me with him in the. Background. Yeah, but then so Tim made posts and made a post about it and tagged John Stamos. He saw it, he liked it, he commented on it and then a couple of days later he liked our club, 33 posts. So that was exciting. Yeah, it I made the post on both on TikTok and on IG and on TikTok it just fell flat.
00:10:50It really did. It didn't do anything. But on IG it got, I think it's that almost 80,000 views and thousands of likes and that's where John Stamos was, that's where he liked it and he commented. He commented. He said cute. Yeah, he called you cute. He. Didn't he? Didn't call me cute? You said something about a date night. Yeah, it's cute, but it's. His official IG page but also this is a side note but you just said IGI. Just want to say we have finally hit. Finally hit 1000 followers. Followers on IG, let's hear it.
00:11:31It's. Taken what, 4 1/2 years? We're at almost 12,000 on TikTok after only a year, but you know, it's cool. You know, it's all good. Anyways, So, yeah, so that was a couple weeks ago. That was exciting. It was fun, it was interesting. So one of the things that I wanted to bring up was I wanted to bring up oh. No, you go ahead. Oh. OK, Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland. Yes, I I've been avoiding looking at anything 'cause I knew you wanted to tell me about. It so this there's been a big controversy about pirates. So it was, it was closed for a
00:12:12while, for a couple months for refurbishment and they came back and there was a surprise the day that they opened, they did a post where they added a new animatronic in the Pirate Slayer portion with all the skeletons of a new animatronic with new technology that that they used. It's like this, this hybrid animatronic and projection mapping animatronic. So that way they they project AA3 DA3D face on the animatronic. So that way they can change what the animatronic looks like. So they the the animatronic. Have you have you seen it? I saw a little bit of it, It looked a little. It was kind of weird. Yeah, so it's like, 'cause like in the first Pirates movie, was
00:13:13it Dead Men Tell No Tales is that? The first one, no. Curse of the Black Pearl. Curse of the Black Pearl. Yeah, you know, they the gold medallions, they turn into skeletons and all that kind of stuff. So. Sorry, I'm hot. Oh, OK. And so, so yeah, so the animatronic, it's where he's like a person. So like his face is like a person and it's kind of cartoony a little bit. And he picks up the gold medallion out of the treasure chest and then he turns into a skeleton. So it just kind of loops back and forth.
00:13:54And so people are really upset about this animatronic because it I don't understand. Well, the whole their whole thing is like it breaks the story of pirates, like the storyline of the ride. How many people you You'll have to just answer this for yourselves. People listening. Do you pay attention to the storyline on Pirates of the Caribbean? I. Don't. I didn't. I never paid attention to a storyline until the movie came out. And then even then I didn't pay attention to the storyline on the ride. Really.
00:14:28I knew the storyline of the movie, but I didn't really pay attention on the ride. I just enjoyed the ride. So they the the whole thing is like the the pirate Slayer. They're all supposed to be skeletons, right? And so but was. This the storyline before the movie? Like, was that the storyline of the ride? For the, I mean the, the, the you're don't get it confused with the storyline of the movie. Ignore the movie, ignore the movie. It has nothing to do with the movie. So the storyline of the ride is when you go down that that drop, you know, the first drop, the big drop and you get into the
00:15:09pirate's Cove and they're all skeletons. So they're like, you know, they're all, you know, just skeletons. And and so and then you pass the part where where, where Davy Jones used to be, you know, you had that, had that. That's water. Screen. Well, they don't have that anymore. But after that, then you like you. You like transport into, like, the living world. Yeah. And so apparently Walt Disney's original vision was, you know, all the pirates are dead in that first, first portion. And so now with that animatronic, it's breaking that
00:15:51story because he's alive. And then, but it's like, it's, it's showing why they're 'cause they, they plunder, they got, they got the, the, the treasure and then they all died. And so he's picking up the treasure out of the thing, and then he picks it up and he's like, and he turns. Well, they can't die. Yeah. When they pick up the treasure, they. Don't know exactly what the storyline and what they're trying to go, but these people are very upset. Like very upset. Like you go to the like Imagineering post about this on the day they opened on on IG and I want to say 9 out of 10 comments or all negative like
00:16:33this is the worst thing. This is so stupid. This looks horrible. You guys did a horrible job like. Really mean stuff. And and people are saying it looks bad. Then we learned about projection faces from from Frozen ever after. Didn't you guys just recently changed that because the Frozen ride at at Epcot, you know, like. And. Then they, they had the projection faces and they recently changed it to full animatronic, right? The reason why they changed the animatronic is because they had new technology, those more expressive faces and all that
00:17:09kind of stuff. And like the projection faces look kind of weird because it's like a screen on the face. What's different about this technology is that the Frozen ride, they're projected from inside the head. So there's like a screen inside the head that's, you know, showing their face. The projection face on the Animatronic Pirates is an actual projector, like a projector, like a movie screen projector that's being 3D projected, much like how they do projections on the castle. Yeah, OK. So it's like that, and so they're able to 3D map the face onto this pirate and so they're able to change it and make it more lifelike and realistic
00:17:56instead of it just being like a screen inside the head. Yeah, OK. So people are like, so did you guys learn? It's like it's a totally different technology and people are getting so upset about this and I think it's did I. Say something that they took it out or did. Is that not true? So, so the, that weekend, people noticed that it was just staying in the skeleton mode and they're like, oh, they changed it. They, they listened to us. You know, Disney finally listened to us because they heard that it was horrible and they listened to us and they kept it. Or they, some people thought that they put the old skeleton
00:18:34back. They took it out and put the old skeleton back and then and I think it was like a then a couple days later, Pirates was closed most of the day and and people were like, they're listening to us. I bet they closed it because they're taking it out and blah, blah, blah. And and then the next day it was back. It was working. It was working. It was just, it was, it was just broken. And so they were fixing it and so it's. Yeah, I don't know. We'll see when we go on it next time we go like I, I don't think I'm like. We call ourselves Disney Adults
00:19:09like we're Disney adults. We like we. Like to. But there's a subsection of Disney adults that are just annoying these, these ones that are like purists, like you can't change anything about Disneyland. That's not what he said. That's not what Walt Disney wanted. Yeah. He talked about as long as there's imagination in the world, Disneyland will never be. Yeah. So I guess they just want it to grow and not change what's already there. But I mean that's a lot harder in they do give us a bad name. That's a lot harder in land when there's not the space, you know,
00:19:49for to grow out. Yeah. So update things Speaking of, are you done on that? Yeah, go ahead. There is a rumor that I just heard about from TikTok. OK, Evan ET Family Travel. All right. Apparently there's a rumor that at D23 they're going to announce that they are changing Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom. Oh really? To. What more of thrill? And I wonder if they're going to bring more of like the Paris Space Mountain over. That would be pretty cool. That would be amazing. Then it would be, dare I say it? Better. Better than the one we have in
00:20:38Disneyland because the one in Paris is better than the one in California. For sure. So. They do. The Space Mountain. The Magic Kingdom. Needs some major pretty. Long in a tooth there. And how you said that once before and you're like, you've never heard that. And I was like, no. I've never heard that term long in the tooth. Long in the tooth are my parents, and your parents said very different things. Long in the tooth? What does that mean? Hang on, I want to ask our TikTok friends have you heard the saying long in the tooth?
00:21:13I will wait. No Jamie, I did not say world is better. I said if they update Space Mountain. Yes. Kaylee, Nope. Spunky red, Nope, thank you. If they Nope, another Nope. The the excuse me? The idiom long in the tooth means to be old or getting on in years, and is often used to suggest that someone or something is past its prime. The phrase comes from the euquin, euquin, euquin, EQUINE world. As a horse ages, its gums recede, making equian. As a horse ages, his gums recede, making his teeth appear visibly longer. OK, so.
00:22:00I didn't. Think you made it up, I just never heard it there. Was another. There was another term that I said a couple weeks ago that you didn't believe me was a real term. But it was about a song or something. It was when we left. It was when we left Toy Story 5 and you were saying the Taylor Swift song was a. Earworm. An earworm? You never heard of it? Ear. No, Jamie, I'm not going to lack comment was filtered and I'm going to leave it filtered because he said land is long in the tooth. No, I said and what I said was
00:22:32if Magic Kingdom updates Space mountain to be like the space mountain in Paris, then space Mountain in Magic Kingdom would be better than space mountain in land. Not the entire park, just that, right? If that's a big if. OK, so anyways, that would be really cool. We've got D23 coming up, Yeah. Like about a month. I'm wondering if hopefully they'll have some updates on some of the Disneyland forward stuff. And you know, I have well, we had well, I guess I say we haven't been in a long time. I think just the last two months have just been busy because it feels like it's been a really long time, but we were there two
00:23:28months ago. It's only a couple months. Ago, but each time we go like the progress they're making on the new Avengers campus rides is like, oh, like I'm I'm excited for that. I am excited for that. And then there was something else. Oh, Friday. OK, what's the what's the date on Friday? This Friday, Yes. Wait, what's the date on the date? What do you mean? Like the date of the month? Yes, yes. It's the 17th. OK, what about the 17th? July 17th. Yeah, July 17th. 1955. Oh, that's the, that's the
00:24:05anniversary. The that'll be the 50, the the 70. 1st 71st you know when we've never no 72nd. 71st 1st. Yeah, that's right. It started before, yeah. We've never been on the anniversary and I would love to be there. Audrey Anne is trying to get us to go next weekend. Oh, oh, you have brought it up almost as much as I have. I know. You're the one who brought up the World Cup. I know. And how the park has been so slow. And next week you brought up next week's the the like final of the World Cup. So you know, I wonder if wait time's.
00:24:46Friday, Friday, there a World Cup is being played in LA, which is a big deal. And then the final is on Sunday. And for this whole summer, Disneyland, the the crowds have been really low. People are going like what's going on? So, you know, we've been playing around with the idea of going, but it's like. I know it wouldn't be a smart decision financially. Financially, I don't think it's a good idea right now. So my Venmo is no, I'm just kidding. I'm totally kidding. I'm totally kidding. If you want to donate to the cause, drop us a lion right now. Oh, wait, I can't. I can't ask for.
00:25:36I can't ask. Oh my gosh. You're going to get me my first R on here. I have never gotten a uni so never never in my almost one year career as a TikTok live host. OK, but I'm we're kidding. Oh, the OC Fair starts next Friday too. Oh man. Thank you, Gina. Thank you for saying that. That's pushing him. That's pushing him over the right now. Well, right now the fireworks are going to start. So like Fantasyland is closed, Space Mountains 35 minutes, Ryse is 50. OK. Indiana's 45 O50 for Soren Oh
00:26:21Soren over America 55 for Guardians Racers is closed. O50 for credit Coaster. Oh well, it's a little busy right now, A. Little busy right now for for this time of night seems a. Little Yeah for a Sunday evening. But. Yeah, I don't know. My heart says yes. My brain says no. What did your heart say when you asked me to marry you? What did your brain say? Both said yes. Oh. Wait, that's not a good example. What did your brain say every time I wanted another kid? But what did your heart say? That's a little bit different. It's always been fine.
00:27:03They're fed. Should we have? Another baby financially. Probably not, but sure why not. Same thing with Disneyland. Will we regret it? If we don't have to bring the youngest with us, then maybe. Rude but I kind of agree but I will say because it just earlier this week or I guess it was yesterday but I was like oh man in the summer like our oldest goes back to school in like 3 weeks. I know. And then he's going into his junior year. I can't believe it's gonna be a junior. So next summer is his last summer like of not having to like have a job or we're. Gonna go to Disney World next.
00:27:51Summer, well, that's the plan. I don't know about. I don't know. We got to figure that out because I don't want to go in the summer really. But then I know going into his senior year, he shouldn't. I've never been a like, oh, I don't want them to miss school when I homeschooled for seven years. So it was like we go whenever and then even after that I'm like, you guys will be fine. Like we can go, you could get independent city. But his senior year, like probably shouldn't. You need to get started working on his community service hours. We're we're bringing life into the podcast this time. Yeah, how many, how many
00:28:26community service hours does he need? Like is like 100 or something like that before he graduates. I totally forgot about that. Yeah. So we got nice, long Yeah, our kids were out early. So like our son was out at the end of May. California schools. They they get out for summer break early, but they start some school the fall semester early. Yeah. So like our he was out at the end of May, like he had like a day after Memorial Day at a school and then that was it. And so and he doesn't have as many breaks throughout the year. He gets out early and then our other kids were out like the second week of June and they go
00:29:14back like the second week of August. So it's only two months. It's like exactly 2 months. It's. I have Co workers who who work in New York and like they don't go to school. The school doesn't start till like after Labour. Yeah, I know. Which is like crazy, yeah, super late, but they don't get out until like middle of June, so. You know, I don't remember having community service hours to graduate. We had to do like a community project or like. We had to do community service hours we had. To volunteer. But it was seriously, it was like 20 hours.
00:29:45It wasn't that much, yeah. It, it, it wasn't 100, but in it's, it's, it's not good because he's been in high school for two years and we haven't done any so. You just get on that, but they also. OK, this is not a that kind of podcast anyways. The point was is that it's like, I don't really want to go to Florida. Summer vacation. I don't really want to go to Florida during the summer, but I also, since it'll be his senior year, that following year, I'm like, so we'll see. Maybe we can. He doesn't. Yeah. Anyways, that doesn't matter, so.
00:30:27Another thing that I was going to bring up about Disneyland. So they have this new evening evening hours ticket. And where in land or world land? Land OK. So I believe it's it's Wednesday through Sunday or Thursday through Sunday. It's only $59.00 and you get to go in the evening, so it's like 5 to midnight. What? Yeah. And it's not really. It's a really good deal. It's not like a party where you have to buy a ticket and then that like the party ticket on top, it's just $59. It's just $59.00 and it's just for the evening, so it's for evening hours. Wow, and it's the best time.
00:31:10Yeah, Disney at night is the best. Yeah. So the fact that they're doing this, I think they're struggling to get ticket sales. Weird though, because the part I mean, even though we're seeing like, oh, wait times are not as high as maybe normal. It's so like, I don't know, I don't, I don't see. Gina says Saturdays in the 90s it was $20 after 4:00 PM. Amazing, amazing the. 90s were just peak as the kids say. The 90s were peak. Do they say peak or is that they? Say peak. They say peak. I don't know. They say all kinds of things that I don't understand.
00:31:50Well, that's I wonder, Wait, what? What did you say? I wonder if that's Sundays. I wonder if that's now. I wonder if that's why the wait times are a little higher right now. It it was or was it? I'm gonna have to. Look it up. I'm. Gonna look it up. I know I do miss the 90s, although there are some fashions that are back from the 90s. He's looking it up. We'll find out you guys. Maybe that's why wait times are a little higher right now in Disneyland. Because. See Sundays through Wednesdays there it is so Sunday, Monday,
00:32:28Tuesday, Wednesday. There it is. July 2nd, July 12th through August 5th, 7 until midnight. And it's 855 right now in California, so that there it is. So it's seven in midnight Disneyland, 5 to 10 at DCA. There you have it, folks. But yeah, 59 bucks. Yeah, that's fantastic. Yeah. I would do that. Yeah, because. I mean, I guess if you think about it, what's one day though? What's a full day? What? Do you mean what's a full day? What's one day? What's is it? So I'm assuming that's not park hopper? No, it's just it's a one day,
00:33:09it's a one park. Yeah, let's let's, let's actually think about this. Is it a good deal? Let's see. Because you can only go in from 5 to 10 or 7 to midnight. Is that what you said? Yeah, 7:00 to midnight, land 5 to 10, DCA. So what is that 8910115 hours? It's five hours for $59.00, but what is a one day Park 1 Park ticket? I'm pulling up right now. Is it? 118. So a standard theme park ticket? One day, probably. More than that. One adult and it's about. So if we were to go, let's say to so it's next, next Sunday the 19th, it would be $184.
00:34:08So for a little more than double, you could be there all day. Or Monday the 20th. See Mondays and Tuesdays is 150 and then Wednesdays is 169. So it's more than double, but you are there for. Saturdays are the most expensive at $200. Well, Saturdays aren't, they don't have that after hours to get, but excuse me. So it's like, yes, it's Nate. If you're if you live down there, you only want to go in the evening, you can go in for 60 bucks. Goodness, if you're going to go in December, you're looking at $225.00 for one day. Gosh, jeez, man. That's true. If you don't want to go in the
00:35:02heat, you don't want to be there all day. I mean I would do it. I would spend 60 bucks to go. In yeah, if you're a local. If you're a local. And it's nice that they have that option instead of like, hey, we just want to go in for dinner, but we're not gonna or not dinner, but like we want to go in the afternoon. We don't want to pay for the whole day there. It's basically like you can buy 1/2 day ticket. Basically it's a little less than 1/2 day but they have like 1/2 day ticket is kind of what it is. So before we end this I don't have anything else to talk about because I thought I had something and I forgot what it
00:35:38was so. I know there was something else. Oh, we didn't talk about the all the not very bright people jumping out of the logs on Tiana's. Oh my goodness, so even. Three of them. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future Tiana's closes and they add some type. Of absolutely not I would I I'm expecting that. I'd be surprised if they don't. Why hasn't it not happened this much before? Well, why? Is it happening all of a sudden? I'm, I apologize, stupid. I apologize to Gen. Z. I know that was that kid was 13, so he was probably like, what? Whatever, Jen, whatever.
00:36:15OK, children, because I see it on social media and they're like, oh, a trillion. But like I was saying this before we started the podcast when I was just on the live, like, what are you thinking is going to happen? Like when you're like, I'm going to try to get out and like stand on the top of the mountain. OK. And then what? Get banned, look for life. And then get banned. Like, what do you think is going to OK, Let's just even if you don't know about like Disney banning people, OK? He's like, the first one was, what, 13 years old, something like that. Maybe he didn't realize, but he doesn't know that.
00:36:50But what are you going to do to get down? What do you think is going to happen to you when you get down? What? OK, so then you see this, right? You see this kid, you see him fall. I'm going to do that too. What, like, and like the second video, you could see the person, like, trying to push him out, like help him, like it was their plan. Yeah. But like again, what are you thinking is going to happen? It's funny when Disney World, Disney Worlders view that and they're like, how do they get out of the lap bar? And then you tell them Disneyland doesn't have a lap bar.
00:37:37There's nothing to restrain you, which is crazy to think about when you go down a steeper drop in Disney World and there's you. Know what though the information I find it says the same. I am one. OK, I can't say 100%. I am 99% sure that after we came home from our very first Disney World trip, I looked it up and it said that the drop in land was bigger because it feels bigger. And I looked it up when we got home from World because I was like the drop didn't feel that big and it was a difference. It was like 52 and like 50 or 49 and ever since then, everything I find says it's the same. But I know I saw that it was different. I know it.
00:38:21I think I even talked about, I think we were on the podcast. And I looked at it. Yeah, I remember it. Thank you anyways I. Believe you. OK thank you. But yeah, if I got banned because my kid was an idiot. Ban the kid, don't ban me. Yeah, we'll leave him home, believe me, because he also got banned fully formed from our home. Kicked him out. Kicked him out, yeah. But yeah, we don't have lap bars. I can't believe this. Is it was weird. It was weird when we went to Disney World for the first time and I was like, there's lap bars.
00:39:00Side by side what? Why? So I wouldn't be surprised if they added them. And that's, you know, I don't see that that that's good. Yeah, Do it. It is. It's like you really work your inner thighs 'cause if you've never been to land like in front of you, like the seats look like little like logs and they're like kind of like a foamy feel. Well, you straddle each person. You straddle. You straddle the seat. You don't straddle the person. Come here. I'm still getting over my cough. Jerk. OK. Excuse my legs. OK, well, and for Tim, it's hard
00:39:47because he's tall. I always get the back. That's why I never get wet on that, right? Except the time we last time we went, we got on number row one and two and we got drenched. OK, but so you, you, your legs are around the, the back, the, the seat in front of you. So, and there's no lap bar and there's no, well, there are, there are handles on the side if you want to hold on. But so you, I mean, I'm usually like squeezing the seat in front of me with my legs, you know, with my knees. So inner thigh workout, you know, it's the best ride of all. It actually Splash Mountain was my favorite. I always forget which one's first Disney World or
00:40:28Disneyland. Let's find out. I think it was Disney World was first it. Would have opened in the 90s, right? Yeah, well, there was that really cool 90s hip hop. I'm not asking Chad, it'll be wrong. There was this really neat 90s hip hop commercial for Splash Mountain. I believe it's Disney World. OK World. October, October 2nd, 92. You could just Google which one opened first. Oh, Disneyland was first July 17th, 89. Oh, OK, never mind. 30 on the 34th anniversary of of the park opening. OK, does that make sense why
00:41:22Disney World has a different they're like, this was a bad idea. Let's make sure that. Some say they can't in case they take on water and you have to get out. They can't do lap restraints because of that. But what about in world? Or a strap? Maybe not a strap. That's actually a lie, Jamie. Maybe they can't do the strap with the buckle. But just like, because in land it's just like the bar that comes down. I mean world, I mean world, I'm sorry, the world is just a bar that comes down. So I mean, I'm sure there's like a release button or something, you know?
00:42:02Yeah, maybe the retrofit land with with bars. Yeah, I mean, I would say that's a better idea than, like, having to close the ride because of idiots. Yeah. So control these stinking kids. Children. Seriously. If my kid ever pulled something like that, I'd leave them in Anaheim. I'd be like. I'd be so mad. I'd be so mad like. What I can't? I just can't. Like seriously, just my mind just keeps going like, what did you? What do you think is going to happen after that? They're just going to be like,
00:42:34come on, kid, get down. No, like you're going to. So stupid. So stupid. But anyway, so there's that. Also a grandma fell in the water on Dumbo and Magic Kingdom. That's sad she fell in the water. It's so embarrassing. I'd be so embarrassed. Feel like there was something else? But when you need them, you know. I know, right? He could have. He could have picked you up out of the water. Appreciate you. Appreciate you. Inside podcast TikTok jokes here I. Appreciate you.
00:43:26Oh my gosh. OK. Our friend Gina says her cousin got banned for a year for swinging the gondola ride. I remember the gondola ride. Is that where you went through Matterhorn? Yeah. So Speaking of rides that don't exist anymore, I was about to talk about this, but then you interrupted. Me. I'm so sorry. Oh my goodness, we are in the process of creating merch. So obviously we can't do like dreaming of Disney merch because you know, Disney, right? But one thing that we go by here on TikTok is our Main St. Dreamers. Our community inside of TikTok
00:44:13we're we call ourselves the Main St. Dreamers. So we're going to be, you know, creating some merch and shirts and hats and different things and mugs, mugs. Sweaters. Pins. Totes fine leather goods. I was like, wait, what was that? Treat yourself. Treat. Yourself, treat yourself, get yourself a tote. But we're we're playing around with some ideas, so. And one of them was rides that no longer exist in the parks. So gone, but not forgotten. Gone, but not forgotten. So we want to do both, you know, both coasts we want to. I'm working on a people mover
00:44:57shirt right now. Which is obviously still in Magic Kingdom, but not in Disneyland. People. But we wanna, you know, pay homage to to both coasts and and respect the rides that we miss or the areas like the Rivers of America is gone in Magic Kingdom. Yeah. So we're we're excited. Yeah. So we'll keep keep you guys updated on how you can if you're interested and. And Main Street dreamers.com. Yeah, there it is. There's nothing on it yet. I actually haven't visited it. What happens? I, I got the domain. Oh, I I'm going to get in
00:45:33trouble. Oh yes, another one is so it's Maine St. so not the. St.com. No Maine St. Dreamers. Oh, OK, so we don't spell out. OK, It says opening soon. I don't know how to do it. OK, we'll figure that out. But yeah, so yeah, People Mover is awesome. People Mover is awesome. So Disney World is awesome. Our friends are There are podcasts, Dreaming World Dreaming. World Dreaming world of Disney. Trying to combine all the. Dreaming no the all the podcasts. No, Disney World is awesome. Podcast is also a fantastic podcast.
00:46:26Yes. And friends of. Our podcast cool guys. We just didn't. We just went by. I honestly, I asked him. I said what do you think? Should we spell out street or should we just do St. And he said St. and I said, OK, yeah. Could that be more confusing? I don't know. People know St. period means St. Yeah, but if they're like looking for us? I don't. Know, I mean, it's not like we're looking for this to like replace his job or anything.
