In This Episode

After last week’s overrated vs. underrated episode apparently put Tim’s Disney fan credentials in question, Audreyann is giving him a chance to redeem himself. 😂

Then we’re taking over Disneyland.

Land by land, attraction by attraction, we’re deciding what we would keep, change or tear down if we were suddenly in charge of the park. Should the PeopleMover finally come back? Does Autopia need to go? What should replace Finding Nemo? Could Matterhorn become a Frozen attraction? And somehow we end up designing an Aladdin ride through the Cave of Wonders.

Some ideas are probably pretty good. Others might get us banned from Disneyland.

Tell us what YOU would keep, change or tear down!

00:00:15Hey guys, it's Tim and welcome to episode 143. We're. Getting there. We are just getting there 2. Podcasts in a week in a in a row. In a row two weeks in a row in a. Row Is this a new record for a long time now? No, I think for the first two years we did one every week pretty much. I think we'd have every once in a while a kid was sick or if we were at the parks. But yeah, it it's we're, we're not as consistent definitely, but. So before we before we get started, OK, I got two things to say. Yeah, you have two things to

00:00:53say. Two things. Two things we need to clear up first. Oh. Geez. Congratulations to the San Francisco 49ers for an amazing win tonight against the Seahawks. You would think it was like a playoff game or like the Super Bowl. I mean, me and the boys were so like. Nervous I I was getting the I was too my. Gosh, it was down to the last minute. Crazy. But Goodwin 5 and O yeah. It was fantastic. Undefeated it. Was exciting.

00:01:28MVP Purdy. Glock Purdy, as they like to call him. I love Purdy you guys. He's so stinking cute. So that's the first thing. Second thing, we need to address the apparent qualifications of myself as a Disney fan. OK. Based off of last week's episode and some of the comments that we received. OK, let me. I apparently don't like Disney. OK, so if you haven't if you haven't listened to last week's episode, you can go listen to it. We also posted some clips of it on both of our social so on TikTok and IG. And we did a lightning round last week of overrated or

00:02:16underrated or appropriately rated. So we each came up with 10, 10. 1010 each. 10 each are and I didn't realize that there were only 10 things in Disney. And I have to preface this with saying that that I don't, I don't like mean comments. I don't I don't like when people speak in absolutes when their opinions for sure. I and I'm sure I do it at times I try really hard not to, but because it bothers me when people do. But I'm sure I do also, just like I I have never ever been one to leave a negative comment or a negative review unless it is something that I feel like people need to know. Like for an example, we had one of those like counter ice

00:03:18makers. That's the only time I think we left a negative review on anything because it got moldy and there was no way to clean it. Yeah, you couldn't you? Couldn't take it apart. Yeah, like just junk. It you had to break it and then it didn't work to clean it. And so I was like, OK, people should know that. But if I don't like a product, but it's just my personal opinion, like there's nothing wrong with it. Like I just, or I'm on posts like I if I might, something might bother me. They might irritate me. I might think that person is annoying. I only leave a comment if it's

00:03:46something positive and I'm not trying to be like I'm so wonderful. It just doesn't. I just don't. I just don't The only actually, this wasn't even necessarily a negative comment, but did you guys see this is kind of off the topic? It's on the topic, but not Disney. Did you see it was going around like last week or so there? The couple that was at a baseball game and she had a baby. Yes, she was carrying all the food. She. Was carrying all the food and she was carrying the baby and the the announcers at the baseball game like brought

00:04:19attention to her and they were like Mama here, look at the dad and it looks like he's saying you forgot something. And like so then I saw this post of a woman defending the husband and saying like she should ask for help if she needs it. I did leave a comment on that post, but it wasn't a negative comment. I just said you shouldn't always have to ask. Like. You shouldn't have. I'm sure there's an explanation. Well. No, no, well, the, the, the mom came the the wife, she, she's, she wrote a big long article about about the experience. And it was the fact that the the husband kept saying, no, don't go get food, I'm going to go get

00:04:59it. And he had just lost a family member. Oh, and, and she wanted it. It was, it was his best friend and he loved going to this, they loved going to the Giants games together. And, and she's like, I want him to go and enjoy being at the game 'cause he's been grieving really bad. And I just want him to have a good time. And so I was like, no, you sit and join the game, I'm gonna go get food. And they were texting that like, hey, do you want this? You want that? He's like, don't get me food, I'm good. She's like, no, I'm gonna get you something.

00:05:29And so it came with like it. The whole thing was like, you don't know what's going behind the scenes. Yes, which I honestly, when I first saw that, I thought about that. I thought that the husband was like, who knows what he said beforehand? Because there have been times with you and I where it could look like I'm doing more, you are doing more and I'm not doing anything. You know, it was the what the person that made this woman that made the post what she was saying that I didn't agree with, but it still wasn't like a mean thing. I just like had a thought and I just felt like sharing it for some reason, which I never do

00:05:59like I don't like I don't feel the need to make my opinions known about most things. So I never feel the need to like go to a post and make a comment. That's just me. I just tell you about it. OK, so we make these posts. You do yours first about your 10 things that I did not tell you in advance. Mine were much more controversial. And I did. You picked those on purpose. I picked them on purpose. I did not pick the things you love because where's the fun of that? And I do not mind the comments on the post, like from some of our, you know, Main St. Dreamer friends that were like, OK, you need to throw Tim

00:06:41overboard and like, laffy emojis that didn't make me mad or like, I just lost respect for you. Laffy emojis that didn't make me mad. It's the people that you can tell are serious. And they're like, this man is miserable. I'm miserable, guys. I'm a miserable Disney adult. Or real or true Disney fans know that this and this is great. And I'm like, what is a true Disney fan? So a true Disney fan has to love all those those 10 things I mentioned. Those are 10 things out of hundreds of thousands of things. You could pick a part out of Disney that you like or don't like. Hold on.

00:07:23I got, I got, I got to pick it. I got to bring it up here. So you don't care Like people comment this and you're commenting but it irritates me and it's hard for me to. And yeah, so. Oh. OK, so you're going to play no? I'm not going to play. I'm just going to. I'm looking at the comments. Oh, OK. Listen to the entire list. Do you not like Disney or fun? OK, maybe that person was. I love this comment. Come on, Figma is great, I said. Maybe after a few drinks around the world. Well, that that one is fine. Like man, figment's great that that didn't bother me, but there was just some that you could

00:08:03tell. Does this man enjoy the parks? Yeah. Most actual Disney fans are not going to agree with the majority of these. That one. Yeah, we saw that the same time and I commented something like. Not that like pretty like. Yeah, I was. It was a little snarky but like fun and you went like all out. Yeah, that one made me mad. You can say a lot of things about me, but don't you dare say I'm not a true Disney fan, which I'm They were talking about my husband, but. Oh, maybe they'd like to really mean what was on Instagram. I think it was on Instagram. Careful how much you say that. Let's see.

00:08:44I'll look. But well. Then there was one that just seemed to be like, there was like a fake account. I was like, what are you even doing here? And you liked it, 'cause you're like, hey, we're getting engagement. OK, let's see. Well, it's also like the line of work that I'm in, I some of my work is very public. And so there's some people that don't agree with it and you get some nasty comments and it's, it's just, it's just, it's something that I've learned to be like, it doesn't matter. It's a, it's a, it's, it's a, it's a moot point. It's like a Cal's opinion. It's like a Cal's opinion.

00:09:24Well, I I don't well, and you've even said you've even like. Joey Triati. You read the first time we got a negative review on our podcast and it bothered me, 'cause I'm like, why did you take the time to be mean? Like you don't like our podcast, then just don't listen. Like why stop and leave a mean? I just don't get it. And OK, so this was the one on IG. So he clearly doesn't like Disney, but like Star Wars and Marvel. And I said this was a lightning round of 10 things I didn't ask him about churros, Indiana Jones, happily ever after, fireworks, Disneyland Forever, fireworks, Space Mountain, Mickey, ice cream bars, walking

00:09:59down Main Street, just to name a few of the things he loves because it ticked me off. Well, and they're like, they're just blanket, OK. He doesn't like Disney. Are those the only things that OK? It bothered me, you guys, as you can, as you can tell. And am I making too much of it? Did this ruin my week? No, but it is like a filtering all of your comments, Amy. Yeah, that's true. Some people have nothing better to do. But we are going to give him a chance. We are going to talk to all those people. Oh, don't look. OK, I'm not looking. We are going to give you a

00:10:37chance and also to I also didn't like the like the OR not the assumption, the indication that that was all there is to Disney. That's all there is. Fantasmic And also I, I made a post about this. I made a post about this and and someone was like, oh, I always, I didn't think of it that way. I always think if you think something is overrated, you don't like it. But to me that's not necessarily true. Like I was saying, you said lounge fly and I said overrate it. I like lounge flies. I own some lounge flies. Are they worth the money and the big hype where you go and you feel like you have to have a lounge fly every day?

00:11:17No, I think that is overrated. I think especially as like a mom, they're not the most practical thing. You usually can't fit that much in there. They're really, really cute and there's ones that I still want, so I like them. I just think the whole like different lounge fly for every day and making you feel like maybe you need that is overrated. Not judging anyone who has a huge wall of lounge fly at all. Like go for it girl you love collecting lounge fly do it. Does that make sense? Yeah, you can like something. You can like something that's overrated. You don't think it's it deserves the amount of hype that it gets?

00:11:53Yes, yes. OK. All right, so here's here's your redemption round. Oh yeah, my redemption. Round 20 things. 20 things. Wow. All right. Churros. Way underrated. Paint the night. Way underrated. Disneyland Forever Fireworks. Way underrated. Hyperspace Mountain. That's a little rated, not underrated. Staying for Park close? Underrated. Sky Liner. Underrated. Grand Floridian. Way underrated. Guest on Cinnamon Roll.

00:12:26So underrated. Tron appropriate rated flight of passage. Way underrated. Happily ever after fireworks. Happily ever after fireworks properly rated. Cookies and cream from Clarabelle's. The best, the best. It's way underrated. Taking our kids on Mater's junkyard Jamboree. That's great. It's way underrated. Cars land. Underrated. Racers at night. Underrated. In Credit Coaster. Underrated. Toy Story Mania. Underrated. Mickey spell her magic.

00:13:01Not properly rated. For the first time in forever, a frozen sing along. Properly rated. Remy's. Properly rated. Epcot. Properly rated, so there you go. There you go. And I could come up with more. I didn't say Indiana Jones. I didn't say that's the only thing that came to my mind right now. Disneyland chicken strips. Oh yeah, French fries. Oh, a hungry bear was it? The Palm Frites from Cafe New Orleans. Cafe Orleans. Cafe Orleans, We haven't had the spring burger. Spring Burger. The best fries.

00:13:44We have not had the cheeseburger spring rolls yet. That is on our list next time we're in world. The best fries in all of Disneyland are at Hungry Bear because they have the beer battered fries. They do have good fries at Hungry Bear. At Disney World, I hear some of the best fries are at it's a restaurant near the boardwalk. It's called like boats something. I don't know, I've just seen social media post about it. It's truffle fries, but they're like like super fresh. Like they grow the potatoes in like behind or they don't. Grow in Did they grow the potatoes in the living with living with the land?

00:14:28That is an underrated ride. I love living with the right, living with the land. Boathouse Haley's house. Boathouse, Boathouse. Parmesan traffic for fries. Oof. You love me A. Good song. Living with the land you think is underrated. I like it. I know you. I thought it was an enjoyable. I should have given that. I should have given. So there's another one. You guys living with the land? He thinks it's underrated. Yeah, it's, it's very informative. You know, it's relaxing, gets you off your feet. You learn a little bit about

00:14:56agriculture. You know it's important. It's important to know where your food comes from. True. So it doesn't come from the grocery store, that's for Dang sure. Oh, animal Kingdom, spunky rat, says animal Kingdom. Appropriately rated. I say under. Yeah, For me, I think it's I I love the tree of life. Yeah, that's cool. OK, nerd. Again, for our podcast listeners, if you're listening this in your car, going to work, at home, doing chores, doing your laundry. Whatever you're doing. We are also live stream on TikTok while we do it, so if you

00:15:41hear us talking to people, we're talking to our Main St. Dreamers. Speaking of. Man, that's a good segue. It was almost like it was planned. What? About that segue, no, we don't plan anything we say on here. No, really, but no, you just updated our website and you made it. It looks fantastic. Oh yes, so I know beeping Tim. So Main Street dreamers.com, may MAINST dreamers.com and that's where you can get our podcast. You can get our socials, you can get our merch, our. Soon to be app. Our soon to be app for Disneyland. So that is like the hub of

00:16:27everything. Yeah, we also on our shop, we dropped some new designs. I'm wearing one of them right now. Yes, the Epcot built for Dreamers built. For dreamers are built for dreamers line. We got two different designs for that. Also comes in hats. Yeah, comes in a hat built for dreamers. I like I I personally like the other design a little more. I know it's. A little like you said last week, it's a little more whimsical, which is definitely. One thing when when we were obviously you are the creative director, so you're telling telling me what types of designs

00:17:06that you like. But you, you came up with the Epcot one. Yes, but knowing your style and knowing you know what you would like to wear and. Like my Meet me on mainstream shirt that I'm wearing. Right now it's much more, you know, it's much more feminine design, more whimsical, which some of these designs work great for men as well. But we I didn't have anything that was like masculine, you know, So this is much more like. It's it's more like you. Know look more, you know, simple not so much doesn't have like all the the sparkles and the swirls swirls. So if you want something a little bit more minimal, we got this design.

00:17:51I'm kind of thinking of doing a kind of a similar type line of designs so. Yes. No, I don't really think you should. Real quick, we have a a question from Jamie. Should I take my first solo Disney trip? Yes or no? Will my kids kill me? Yes, you should. No, they won't. I have taken two solo trips. It was incredible. My first one was a time where I was still home. School, I don't remember I. Can't remember if I was still home schooling or not, but I needed the quiet. And it was like, even though the parks are loud, the fact that I

00:18:31could just walk through the parks and just let my own thoughts just go, it was incredible. It was so great. And they didn't, they did not get mad at me. I of course brought them back. Something which is always like one of my favorite things to do when either I've gone by myself or when Tim and I go without the kids is picking something out for them. But you should definitely, definitely you should. So for our next part, next segment. Our next segment. Of this podcast this evening I. Don't know what's happening. Or this morning. Did you have anything else to talk about?

00:19:16Did you have anything else? OK, what? Because I had an idea of. Something. Yeah, No, I know. So I'm. Just looking at your pictures on your computer, I don't know where this is going I. Needed a map of Disneyland because I can't use my phone because it's recording but I don't even remember what it was I had and I had the list on my phone. It told you guys we don't plan this. At all? No, I did. It was. Very little planning goes into this. Hold on, I gotta bring it up, fill some gaps.

00:19:51OK, you guys solo trips. One of my favorite things about solo trip was just that if you. I don't even want to say you're if a mom, but I I can speak to that because I am a mom of four and I think I was still homeschooling. If I wasn't homeschooling, I had the the kids hadn't been in public school that long, so it was still just like constant interruption, you know, constant. I can rarely let my brain just go, even if my thought process is constantly interrupted by another thought and just walking around the parks and having nobody interrupt my train of thought and whatever I was doing was in my favorite place was like just it was. It was oddly relaxing.

00:20:47Hello, Jamie. Other Jamie all. Right, I got it. I'm not done. You're not done, OK. Finished No, I don't know Sippy Doo. Dad, Dad, welcome in. I hope not. I hope not, Amy. Thank you, Jamie. Jamie says. Nice shirts. Thank you. We've got Epcot. Meet me on Main Street. No, really. Like it's going alone is at first I felt a little no, no, no. I take this back. I didn't really feel weird when I first walked in the parks. I felt a little weird at dinner

00:21:31the first time I did it and that was when I was like, you know, I'm sitting there and I'm seeing families all eat together and I started to feel lonely. But the second time I went by myself, it wasn't as bad. I think I also did just like a quick service more. I think the first time I did more of a sit down and I felt a little like. Second time I think I was good. You're like, Get Me Out of. Here. Well, the first time I wasn't on TikTok, I didn't do lives or anything like that. Second time I went solo I was streaming. Oh, that's. Great, so the first time wasn't for I mean, I did get IG content because we have the podcast and

00:22:10all that. Well, you missed it. We redeem. You'll have to watch the the podcast or listen to it. We'll make posts too. We we Tim redeemed himself, but I didn't do a whole lot of of content. The first time it was really just for a break. The second time I did it, it was more of a content trip because I was live streaming. I was trying to get content so. All right. OK, I filled the space you. Filled the space well, didn't even feel that much space but thank you for doing that. See, I talk too much. No, of course not. OK, so keep it, change it or tear it down.

00:22:56So what we're going to do? Let's get people mad at me. Yeah, let's do it like. She doesn't like Disney. She's never even been. So I mean, so the idea is going land by land, traction by attraction, do we keep it? Do we change it, or do we tear it down? So got it, got it. Probably won't do all of Disneyland Resort 'cause that would take forever. But let's let's focus on let's focus on Disneyland, OK, the OG. OK, I'm not looking at your list so. I'm that's That's it. That's why I needed a map 'cause I needed to like look. At I won't look, I promise you. You can look at the map. Oh well, if you had a list if.

00:23:44You I don't have a list of anything. Oh, oh, oh. I just needed a list of like or a picture of the lands. Got it. So we can figure out what's there. So let's So we're walking into the park. OK. Do we want to do we want to talk about Main Street? Do we just leave Leave Main St. Alone. No. You leave Main Street, Do we? Do you leave Main St. We keep. We keep Main Street. Let's keep Main St. You don't, you don't change Main Street. I mean maybe like a, you know,

00:24:18like touch up paint, you know, like they do, but you don't change Main St. All right, let's let's go to let's go to Adventureland. We're going, we're going counterclockwise. OK, so I. Can't really think of anything. So Adventureland, we have Indiana Jones, we have a Jungle Book. What? Not jungle. Jungle Cruise. Jungle Cruise maybe? He really isn't a Disney adult, you guys. I don't. Know. I know I can't. I don't know the names, just like I don't know the names of Lightning Lane.

00:24:49That's awkward. They sound so awkward. It's referring to the the negative comment or negative review that we. Got that said, I was awkward to listen to. So we got Indiana Jones, we have Jungle Cruise, we have the the tree House we have. Those are really the only attractions in Adventureland, right? I'm not going to be good at this because, you know, I don't like change. Even if I end up liking it after, I'm usually not a fan of it when they announce it, so I keep, keep keep. There is the know something that we've never done. There's a sit down restaurant in Adventureland that used to be

00:25:42the Aladdin Show. That's relatively new. It's been a while. Just a few years, right? More than a few. Years. No, it was closed for a long time. It was it changed before COVID? No. Yeah, it did. Really. Let's see. Let's. It's not a sit down, it's a quick service. No, there's tables back there. Well, but it's still a quick service. Rancho del Zocalo is Zocalo Zocalo. Zocalo Rancho is quick service. Well, yeah. So there's tables, but it's

00:26:14quick service. It's not like a, they don't come and serve you. It's a quick service. Clothes in Disneyland. Yeah, I'm good. I'm I don't need to change Indiana Jones, don't need to change Jungle Cruise. It's one of the one of the one of the original one of the opening day attractions, right? Jungle Cruise is opening day, right? Yes, it was. When did Aladdin show close? January 10th, 2016. Oh, that was. But there was nothing. Yeah, that was at the Hyperion. There was an Aladdin thing there long, long time ago. Then there was nothing there for a long time.

00:26:59Put in the name of it. Let's see, what's the name of it? The. Adventure Land. Let's ask Bryn. She's there the. Aladdin dinner show Aladdin's Oasis Disneyland Adventureland closed in August 1994. Yeah, that's before you ever went. This can be roughly a year after. It's the the Tropical Hideaway. So put in. When did the Tropical Hideaway open? It's a quick service. You have mobile order. Let's look at the. Menu I just remember in in Adventureland. Oh no, you're right.

00:27:40Replaced by the Tropical Hideaway in 2018. 2018 Aladdin used to run through the crowd in Adventureland. Yeah, 'cause. He was a street rat stealing some bread. Just keep. Running into you, don't we St. Rat OK? Let's I love that. If that's one thing I would change, I would bring back Aladdin to Adventureland. You don't see Aladdin really much. You don't see a lot, yeah. You see Jasmine? Does it have Mac and cheese? No, it pretty much just has Dole Whip. With a tropical hideaway, yes. It's just like drink it's there's.

00:28:20No food. I thought it was AI, thought it was a sit down. No, I remember you. I I've looked at it before when I was looking for Mac and cheese for our daughter. I was like, what's over here? There are tables, but it's just Dole Whip, float Dole Whip, Dole Whip swirl float Dole Whip are. You oh, are you on the app? I'm on the app. Oh, so, oh, OK, so. I put it I'm I'm putting in a mobile order as we speak. It's just, it's just Dole Whips and drink. It's just some drinks. Well, that's the first thing I would say. Let's get rid of that. Let's get rid of. Yeah, it just has dole.

00:28:54Maybe that's probably, you know what, they probably did that because where you would get Dole whips outside the tiki room, the line would back up way here. So maybe they did it there. No, that's 20. 18 I've never even been into that area before. Oh, you see a lot, a lot in we're so we're we're talking land. So hello, Grant. We don't see a lot of Aladdin in Disneyland. Watch, we're going to go and see him everywhere. Next time we're there, Fantasmic. But I don't like Fantasmic. I think it's overrated. You don't dislike Fantasmic, it's you just think it's so it's not your favorite show. It's probably your least

00:29:35favorite nighttime show. I think quick service should be only mobile order. Just got two chronics punky red oh. Thank you, appreciate. It that's going to be loud for our ears, but Grant kick you out. I really don't feel like that was open for a while, but maybe I just never paid attention, you know? No, you forget that one. You know where we never eat that we need to try is Bangle BBQ. Oh yeah, I hear amazing things. About it, it's like, but every time this is what happens to me so much in the parks, I will see things when I am not there that I'm like, Oh my gosh, that looks so good. I need to try that next time.

00:30:23And then we're there and it sounds disgusting or not disgusting, but it's like I do not want BBQ right now. I want this, you know, so like there, there's so many things like that. Yeah, the the garlic pretzel bread. Pretzel bread from Maurice's Yeah. Or Edelweiss, depending on. And they get a a BBQ skewer from Bengal and they put it in the pretzel bread. Now they have the the sausage that you can get but. There was another I just saw a post from I think it was food at Disneyland of the, the like, maybe it wasn't the like naan or something, the like garlic naan bangle barbecue and people will get that and then a, a skewer A

00:31:14kebab and put it on that. Can you hold this for a second? Yeah. What are you doing? I just well, spunky red got this one so I was just showing. Her. Oh nice. I don't know, I don't know what color you got, but just if you want to see how it looks, it's still hot here. Today was the full first somewhat. It wasn't even cool. It was just nice, so. I haven't. Told wear it yet because I when I got the sweater it was 100° outside. But supposed to be in the 60s tomorrow. Which is that might be sweater weather.

00:31:49Maybe sweater weather? If you are watching us on the YT on the TT anywhere. Or on Spotify you can. Watch or on Spotify these things. Main Street dreamers.com. Yeah, definitely not white. I was a little nervous about them. When I wear it, I'm going to spill everywhere anyways. OK, we need to try Bangle BBQ. I wouldn't change anything about Adventureland except make the walkway bigger. Yeah, it's just so crowded in there. I wouldn't change the oh, the kids. Oh, yeah, your friend loved the mug. Oh, yeah. I yeah, I would make it.

00:32:35I would. I don't know how they would do that. Like looking like, because they'd have to like push back Indiana Jones line, which is not going to happen, or stroller parking, which would make it worse. But it just gets so crowded through there in front of Jungle Cruise in Indiana Jones that I think that's the only thing I would change. Yeah, I'm, I'm happy with everything there. But yeah, I would say let's let's get let's bring the Aladdin dinner show back. OK, yes. Yes, let's let's get rid of this quick service crap and oh man, I said it said the C word. Let's let's get Aladdin dinner

00:33:13show back in there. Absolutely. That's something that Does Disneyland have a dinner show? I mean they have the like dinner packages for Fantasmic. But you eat the food before you, you go and you eat the food, and then you have a reserved spot for the show. So it's not like a dinner show. Amy says a Remy restaurant like they have in Paris. That would be cool. We definitely need some shows. There are not nearly enough shows in Disneyland. They, well, they brought Bluey because. So that theater is being used because that's huge. That's a huge theater. The Fantasyland. Fantasyland theater.

00:33:53You know which one I'm talking about. Yeah. Fantasyland. Hyperion, I know we're not there. I'm sorry. We'll get there. Maybe not. We're not going. We're not going to California. OK. So quickly, we have talked about this a lot on on tik. T.O.K the Rogers musical. That was fun. That was. One of the coolest things. I would I would want something Disney. I know that's Avengers campus, but like so many things, it's like they the the frozen sing along that is in Hollywood

00:34:26studios started in California adventure. It was in California first got rid of it, made it permanent in Hollywood studios. I love that so much. Like put something in there you have. This such a waste of space. Theater and I am going to be heartbroken. They're going to get rid of it if. They get rid of it, they're. Going to get rid of it. They're going to redo that whole. Avatar. Because also has special meaning for me because my senior year in high school we had our choir music festival down in Anaheim. Yes, we all know you sung choir at Disneyland.

00:35:01That's not the story. Any chance to bring it up? I love you. Go ahead. Is this going to be one of your social media posts? Maybe. Or you zoom in on my face. No, it's fine. Continue with your story. Go ahead. Doesn't matter anyway, high parents going to get knocked down. Kind of like American Idol but with princesses. Exactly. Anyways, we had a we had our award ceremony in the Hyperion Theatre. That is cool. And we won. Yes, you did much deserved because you are an amazing.

00:35:58And then we ran around California Adventure after it was closed with our big trophy. And then we ran over to Disneyland and we took it on Pirates because Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl, is that what it's called? The first one came out my senior year in high school. That's how old I am. Yes. And we were all obsessed with it. And so we took our trophy and ran over and rode Pirates. It's with our trophy. They let you take the trophy on on the right. Yes, our choir director had to leave the ceremony because a kid in the lower choir had passed out, so he had to take him to the emergency room.

00:36:39So he didn't even know that we won. So they just gave it to us and we took it and, you know, took it all through the parks. And then we walked back to our hotel and then we all sat outside his room until he got back from the hospital so we could tell him that we won. That's cute. Imagine if he did that now, like with social media and all the pictures that you would take and. Honestly, you know, taking pictures, Amy's going to know this. With the trophy in different areas and. Social media would have ruined it. Amy would know this, but the the the Taylor Swift song Long live,

00:37:23one of my favorite songs and that always makes me think of that festival and that night when we won because I was also it was my senior year. So like it was like the spring of my senior year. So I was about to graduate and that was ending and a. Song by vitamin C graduation. Anyways, no Taylor Swift millennials. It's just like nothing's ever the same, nothing's ever the same. Anyway, so we're getting back to talking about Disneyland. I was talking about Disneyland. That's true choir in Disneyland. New Orleans Square What would we change? Keep. Tear it down. Let everyone go to Club 33.

00:38:12Turn down. The Doors. Honestly, I don't like that. No, I don't like that they cut off the courtyard. So the courtyard when you go into Club 33, there is like the spiral staircase that takes you up that used to just be open because I have pictures there when I was in high school, like or not even high school. We have I think it was after that, but like in, you know, young adult, so I don't I can't remember. We looked it up once when they closed it off and made it part of Club 33. But it's such a pretty it shook the IT was open for years to everybody. Like so if you see on social media people taking pictures in

00:38:55front of like a staircase that's, you know, curves up that used to just be open like you walked by it. You could people sat there. I don't know, I don't know where this stairs 'cause like I have pictures where we took pictures on the stairs. I don't know. We never kept going up. I think there may have been a rope at the top or something, but you could stand there and take pictures. It was totally open where then they like cut it off and so that I'm kind of like, I would open that back up to just the public because it was, it's a really cool little courtyard and it was fun to take pictures there. Yeah, 'cause Club 33, the door used to be next to Blue Bayou

00:39:43and it's still there like it's the, IT has the 333 on on the door and used to go up the like the, the it's like an elevator. An. Elevator, like an antique elevator that they had. It's not in service anymore and you used to go up there and that took you up to the second floor and that's when you would walk along where the where the staircase leads up to. So maybe there was like a rope at the top so people couldn't go up there, but you could. It was open and it, I don't know, because when you walk back there in New Orleans Square, it's really pretty back there. So I'm like, you know, like open that up to people. Don't they already get the restaurant?

00:40:22You know, I don't know. But other than that, we just have pirates. Obviously, we are not touching that. We're not touching pirates. Oh, and technically, Haunted Mansion is part of New Orleans Square. Yeah, Bayou country, Critter country. I mean, we love space. I mean not Space Mountain. I would bring back Splash Mountain. You would bring back Splash Mountain. I think Tiana's, I mean, obviously the right is the same, right? I mean as far as the track. Although I do think you get more wet. I actually do too.

00:40:56I actually. Do too that you don't. I think you do. The times that we have gone on it, I mean, and not to say that I didn't get soaked on Splash Mountain, there were times where I barely got wet and there were times where I got drenched from head to toe. But and that was what 30 something years of going on Splash Mountain as if as a or no 20 somethings. They opened in the 90s, right or 80s, 80s. When did it open? What? Oh, splash, early late 80s, early 90s sometime. So most of my life going on splash where if so, if you're comparing that to the handful of times I've been on Tiana's and

00:41:35I'm like, oh, I always get really wet on Tiana's. Well, I haven't got on it as much so. To change something with Tiana's, let's bring the logs from Disney World. The two by two. You prefer the two by two. I think the two by two because it's fun to sit next to it. It's it's scary. That's what makes it. More fun, but I think that's why people are lately have been jumping out of it. Well, why? Why can't we just make lap bars on the single on the on the? Yeah, maybe. Although someone jumped out of the the the The Three Caballeros ride. Well, that doesn't have lap

00:42:22bars. Exactly. But people are like, oh, I'm running Disneyland, people jumping out. Well, that was that was a group of intoxicated people who. I'm just saying. That got out and tried to like nose dive into the 2 foot. Right. But I'm just but people got out at this at Nyan too well. I'm just I'm talking about because. I feel like the single row feels faster than the double because to me I I I really feel like the drop is steeper in land but apparently it's not. I feel like it is and I wonder if it's the way that the log is and that it's one by one. But it is scarier.

00:43:10I definitely feel more secure taking like our kids for the first time in the world in the two by two with a lap bar like the first time I took all the boys. I think I got to take for the first time on Splash because it was like my favorite. Actually our oldest first time was in World. Oh, that's right, yeah. But our younger two boys, I got to take them for the first time in land for Splash and it is, it was a little they put us in the back, but it you're just like, because there's nothing holding them in. And I'm sitting behind them with this seat in between US and I'm like trying to. And our youngest boy was the youngest of them to go and he

00:43:57was the first to ever go on it. I think he went before our our 13 year old because he's a little daredevil. And yeah, our daughter still has not gone on it and I don't see her going on it anytime soon. But I wouldn't change it. I would bring back splash. But I, I do think Tiana's is beautiful. The colours are bright like it definitely needed a retouch, you know, and like the paint was getting dull. It'll like so it it's beautiful if you don't go through the standby line, the story's lost on you. You're like, what the heck is going on? I don't know. But I'll still go on because the actual ride is.

00:44:44Still great, the actual ride is still really fun. All right, let's move on the galaxy's edge. Everything I would change. Everything. Apparently you're not a real Star Wars fan. No, I think I'm the only real Star Wars fan in this house. Lies deception. It's from Oh, I wouldn't know, because again, I'm the only real Star Wars fan in this house. Rogue One's good, so personally, obviously I would keep Galaxy's Edge. I would. Oh, I wouldn't get rid of it. Yeah. Keep rise I would get rid of. Smugglers, Are you a Star Wars fan? Really.

00:45:30Why? I don't know, it's maybe it's a little bit better now because they have the new Mandalorian overlay. You think they need different scenes? Like more options? I I'd love to see it more like Star Tours, where Star Tours every time you go is different. You get a different combination. You get a different combination of things. I would like to see that they're doing a little bit more with that with the Mandalorian version, because there's there's three different three different places you can go now instead of just the one story. Obviously keep the Millennium Falcon there, but something to make the ride a little bit more,

00:46:12you know, thrilling I guess. I, I think that I, I could, I think that too. Like if they, if they made it where there's combinations like in Star Tours, I think that would definitely improve it because you don't know what you're going to get, even though I'm sure we've been OnStar tours enough to get all the combinations. Well, I I probably haven't, You probably have. Yeah, I've seen all the, all the. But have you gotten every combination possible? No, of course I have gotten like certain combinations over and over and over again. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, I, you know, I, I am, I am an original Star Wars fan.

00:47:01I don't like the new ones. It doesn't bother me that it's in the park. Like there are some people that hate that Disney owns it now. I, I don't get into all that. Whatever. I think they did a great job with it. But I, I don't like, I don't like Rey. I don't like Kylo Ren. I don't. I saw, I I was happier with the, you know, the original characters coming in because that's the Star Wars I like. Yeah, I don't. I leave that to you boys, OK? There's a lot of times where my daughter and I go into fantasyland and you guys go into a Galaxy. Match Speaking of Fantasyland.

00:47:43Nothing. Tear it down, tear it down along with the castle. Just bring, Just bring Cinderella's castle. I'm. Gonna and as bigger as better. I'm gonna hurt you. And this he's just. He's not. He's not serious. Similar to Adventureland. Just read in the comments right now on TikTok. Interesting take Jamie. Interesting take. I would just create some bigger pathways like in the back by Red Rose Tavern going by Casey Junior. It gets very crowded there, but the Fantasyland in Disneyland is so much better than the Fantasyland of Disney World.

00:48:28Way better. So much more charming and nostalgic and I, oh I know what I would change the queue for Peter Pan. Oh my gosh. Are we all a size 00 like? It's so tiny. So tiny and it's one of the opening day attractions. One of my favorite. Attractions. People were, apparently. I mean, the park was a lot smaller. It's one of my favorite attractions. I love Peter Pan. I know it's like 2 seconds, but I love it. I would make the queue better. Same thing for Mr. Toad's, even though it is not a ride I usually go on.

00:49:13Not change anything about Mr. Toad's. Wow. No, I mean the queue. It's. The greatest ride in all of Disneyland. Just no, I rarely go on it, but the queue when I do go on it is the same. It's because again, it's one of the opening day attractions and the queue is like seriously, we all a size 00 that that's it. I fantasyland is amazing. I would tear down small world. No, Everyone knows your Pinocchio right is pretty scary. Toontown. I think what they did to it with the update was fantastic. Yeah, I think it's really good. It used to be very like. It felt much more barren before

00:49:58it was so dink and hot there you didn't have a play area for the kids. There was like the little trolley train they could sit on and stuff, but not the play areas they have now. Oh hello. What would we change in Toontown? What? Would we change in Toontown? Oh, Roger Rabbit. Roger Rabbit. Get rid of it. Let's no, let's change it. Let's change it. Yeah, well, OK. You said change, keep or tear down. I don't think we should tear it down because then we'd have one last ride. Let's change it.

00:50:31But what? Change it to what? To change it to. OK, Toontown. So. Remy's. That doesn't fit. That's Pixar. We need Mickey's Toontown. Well, Roger Rabbit doesn't fit. I mean, come on, let's best ride in Disney. Period. Whoa. You know what we should do again? We should. We did a bracket years ago on the podcast. Oh, that's right. We should do it again. Yeah, maybe in March. Yeah. You know, for March Madness,

00:51:07Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. So we have Mickey's house, right? It's not like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but like we have Mickey's house. We have Mickey Minnie's Runaway Railway. We need railway, railroad, rail. Railway. Railway. OK, so Mickey's Toontown. So if you think Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, I think Disney Junior. I don't know, I can't think. Disney Junior, it's like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is the main one, right? And there's so many Disney Junior shows that come and go. I'm. Trying to think what does Disney World have as far as like.

00:51:53We have a Bluey show and Bluey. Hang on, I need to look something up. We technically do not have. I mean, technically, technically Bluey is not Disney Junior. It's not Disney. OK, let me. I just need a refresh. Let's see. So we've got OK spiding his amazing friend Super Kitties. Super Kitties A Super Kitties ride, Disney Junior, Ariel, Sofia the First PJ Masks, Doc Mcstuffins. PJ Mask. PJ Mask. Oh my gosh, APJ masks ride. They could make it still spin in the city we I I think they should make AI don't even it's not new. I mean they don't make the I.

00:52:46Don't think they make it anymore. But they don't. Roger Rabbit. We've got Doc Mcstuffins. I love Doc Mcstuffins. Darkwing Duck. They're bringing Darkwing Duck back. Did you hear that? No. Yeah, Mark Hamill is playing the voice. Oh. Donald and Daisy ride. That could be fun, but would that be too similar to Mickey and Minnie's? Yeah. I feel I'm I'm liking this PJ Masks idea. Or a sit down restaurant. Yeah, they only have Daisy's Cafe, which I really like.

00:53:23Cafe or Cafe Daisy. I really like Cafe Daisy, actually. They have really good little doughnuts. Or could that be where they put a Zootopia something, a petting zoo? They used to have a petting zoo. Oh yeah. We used to have one. Donald and Daisy need more. I agree. All right, moving over to our last land Tomorrowland, which has already been confirmed that it's going to be refurbished. So when everyone is so excited about this, what I want to know is what is everyone wanting? Oh, oh, oh, you guys OK. What is everybody wanting? People mover to come back. Yes, if you follow magical

00:54:07millennial. Magic. Is it magical? Millennial. Or magic millennial, magical millennial, magical millennial. You guys know who I'm talking about? Let's be real. She was at Disneyland the other day and she found a people mover shirt. That's right. Now it just said like 1955 or something. People mover Amy's going to get violent if they get rid of autopia. Now they are changing the autopia cars to electric. So that would be interesting then if they got rid of it. Like why put all this money into making them electric?

00:54:42I think she's. Going to be upset if they never get rid of it. Like if they don't get rid of it she'll be mad. No, if they ever get rid of Autopia, I'm going to get violent, OK? Well then she's not going to be happy about my suggestion. OK, but so I would be surprised if they got rid of it because they're putting money into the making it electric. So I would be surprised, but so one, I was irritated because we had an idea for a shirt that said gone but not forgotten and it was the people mover, which if they bring it back, our shirt would be no good. But why did Disneyland just bring out a People mover shirt when it is no longer there and

00:55:24has not been there for quite some time? Are they hinting at something? Well, also there's been reports that they've seen that they've started refurbishing the people mover track. Like there was in one of the hallways they were painting, they had some tarps over the over the track. I wouldn't be surprised. I feel like with social media, the people mover has and I don't know, you guys tell me on on TikTok for those of you if you have grown up going to world 'cause I did not. Has the people mover become more popular, say, in the last 5-6 years, like since reopening after the pandemic, like has the people mover, does it seem to have become more popular with

00:56:14social media and people posting, you know, all the things about being on the people mover? If it has, I wouldn't be surprised then if Disneyland is like, hey, this ride is like, it's always, well, it's always been great, but has it always been popular? You know what I mean? I think, I think they're hinting at something or like you said, they're they're, they're seeing people's reaction to it because Disney wants something. Once something goes away, it's like dead to them. They move on and they don't bring it back. And so the fact that because the People Mover was replaced by the Rocket Rods, which only had like a short lifetime. Yeah, I don't remember that.

00:57:03And it's like test track but slower. OK, Ali says. It's definitely gotten more popular through social media. OK. Yeah. And so unless it's because sometimes Disney, they have like the same design for Disneyland and Disney World when it comes to merch, like they'll have a design for something for like a ride and they just slapped the Disneyland logo on it or they slapped the Walt Disney World logo on. It Yeah, like the Mickey sweater I have. They have. So maybe it's one of those things, but the But it says. Disneyland and it said the year. I mean, what?

00:57:43When did people move her clothes? Look it up. I I could see them bringing it back because it's become so popular new and improved. It's not going to be exactly like it was and it's not going to be like it is in Disney World. Maybe like a You know why when? 95 August 20. 1st, 1995. Opening date was July 2nd, 1967. That's what it says on the shirt. It says like it says 1967 people move. So, and I know they have come out with more vintage ride Tees at Disneyland, like they have one for Jungle Cruise, they have one for Mr. Toads, but those are still there. Yeah, it was replaced by Rocket

00:58:24Rods, which opened in May 1998 and closed permanently in September 2000. That's why I don't remember those, because I didn't go those years I didn't I'd so I was never there for the Rocket Rods. Can they bring back the gondolas that went through Matterhorn? I remember those. So apparently Rocket rods caused damage to the support of the track. I don't even know what those are. What's the Rocket Rods? Rocket Rods. It's like a test track type ride. Oh. That used the people mover track above Tomorrowland and so they closed it because it's starting to cause damage to the the track

00:59:08and the supports. And so they closed it and so people say it caused too much damage. It would be too expensive to bring the people mover back, but I think they're try. I think they're. So that's 26 years, almost 2726, I think it says September. So 26 years that there has been nothing there. Yeah, that's a long time to not put anything there. So what I would change Tomorrowland, I would tear down Autopia. Just tear it down, get rid of it. I know it's the opening day attraction, but there's a lot of opening day attractions that no longer exist. Yeah, exactly.

00:59:46So we shouldn't make that even, you know, but. Bring, bring the ride that people are going to come to ride, which is. Tron you want. Tron it would be perfect. Let's bring something else. Let's bring, let's not just do exactly what they have. Why can't we bring something else? Cosmic Rewind. Is Nemo considered fantasyland or Tomorrowland? It's it's kind of like on there. I didn't. Where is it listed? I didn't realize Matterhorn's considered. Fantasyland. Yeah, it's kind of in the middle. I mean the entrance is at

01:00:23tomorrow. But what is it listed under? See, I believe it's under Tomorrowland 47. Get rid of that. Yeah, Leave Autopia. Yes, something like Flight of Passage, but different theme. So what could they? Well, I think we have enough Star Wars. They need to bring. They need. To buzz but when we have a buzz ride, we. Already have buzz ride, they need to bring a magic carpet ride. That would be a good, but not. Tomorrow. But it wouldn't fit in Tomorrowland. That would go in. Wally.

01:00:58I, I take it, I take my Adventureland idea back, get rid of this of the of the sit down or not to sit down the the quick service snack. Area make a magic carpet ride. Make it a magic carpet ride like Flighted Passage, but it's Aladdin. Like, how could they have never made the getting out of The Cave of Wonders right. I know. How amazing was that? Amazing. Yeah. Oh, a Sauron refurbishment. Don't touch, don't. Oh, good Lord. Don't. Don't mess with Sauron, though. But that I like. That I liked. In the rough.

01:01:39Anyways, I like that. I like that. The Cave O Wonders ride. There we go. There we go. That's the ride. OK, but get rid of Nemo. Get rid of Nemo. You could do like a Wally ride through space when him and Eve are like going through outer space. That could be like a yeah. That's kind. Of like, you're just rude to me tonight. You are just. That makes no sense. I am taking all of my defense all the time. I defended you this last week. I'm taking it back. Get rid of Nemo. Have you guys heard going back

01:02:20to Fantasyland real quick? Have you guys heard there? Apparently there's rumors that they're getting rid of Matterhorn, Which. They're not getting rid of Matterhorn. They're tearing it down and rebuilding it. They're and putting it somewhere else. Somewhere else. I don't know. There's nowhere to put it but if they rethemed. It. If they rethemed, if they rethemed it and made it frozen and the Yeti was marshmallow and you are on a Sven, you are the N mountain and you're on like an ice. You're running from the Wolves or Snowball.

01:02:58Yeah, you're with Christophe and Sven and you are, you know, going down a mountain. I think that would be fantastic. And bring in some some frozen into Fantasyland. But they're not going to get rid of Matterhorn. That would there would be a revolt. There would be. I mean, yeah, battery is critical, but we need to come up with something in Tomorrowland to replace Nemo. Yeah, Nemo is on the edge. It's like the line is Tomorrowland. I don't want to rush this, but my phone's about to die because it's recording. Bye YT. But if you have idea what you would like to change at the
