D23 Recap: Tomorrowland Is FINALLY Getting Some Love!

00:00:16Hey, guys, it's Tim. And welcome to episode 139 of The Dreaming of Disney Podcasts. That's right, Magic Happens is back. We are recapping D23 and I'm with my beautiful wife Adrianne. So the reason we're talking about it is because. It was brought up at D23. And it's coming back, it's coming back, which it hasn't really been gone that long, but because they brought back Paint the Night, which we were super excited about because we love Paint the Night. And I'm sad that that is gone. But I am looking forward to this one because Magic Happens is a great, it's a great parade. It's a great parade. So before we get into D 23, I think we need to talk about the

00:01:14Dreamers. We do indeed need to talk about. It Speaking of calling all dreamers or calling you dreamers the Main St. dreamers. OK, so also our for our podcast only friends, if you do not follow us on Tiktok a year ago, little it's been a little over a year. We started going live on Tiktok for what like 10 months or so? I was going live every day talking about Disney. And when you go live on Tiktok, you can have a fan club. So when we started doing that a year ago, you, you give your fan club a name. You came up with the name Main St. Dreamers. So that is been our fan club name on Tiktok.

00:02:06I have if again, if you're just on the podcast, I got a sign, a neon sign that I waited for months. Main Street dreamers. It became our thing. Then our friends here in the TikTok would say things to me about merch and I thought they were silly crazy because what like who who would want my our merch, you know, and like they're like, we need Main St. dreamer merch. And I'm like, well, I don't even know how to do that. Yes, I know and I didn't I really didn't know how to do it. I would like so I didn't really even give it a second thought like I would just like joke around with him about it, but learned some things, learned how to do some print on demand

00:03:03things and we started making things. We have to be careful with what we say because we are currently live on Tiktok and they get mad when we talk about things that aren't on the Tiktok, so we have to be careful. 00:05:23can't just get the pass, you know, now you have to. And if you have to apply for it, you have to talk to a cast member. Yeah, there's. Like a whole interview. Process, yeah, because unfortunately people were abusing it and so, so hopefully they're in tuned with those needs and are continuing to work to make it, you know, better for everyone that needs it because that is definitely important. It's definitely an important, important thing that they have. So OK, so D23's been the last couple of days. Unfortunately, we were not there. No, we're not there this year. We wanted to go this year and then just things.

00:06:06Can you move into like, the last couple of weeks have been so incredible. Everything fell on the last. Oh my. Gosh, it would have been insane we we were already so tired. And we would have missed other things that were more important than our life. Like it just it just didn't work. It just didn't work. So hopefully in 2028, but OK. Should we talk about our feelings first or details first? Do? Do we want to just talk about the parks, the parks panel? Well, I kind of want to touch on a few of the things. One, there's real quick, I just remembered and I have to say it out loud so you don't forget.

00:06:40OK, there's some things I need to order from. Oh, that's right. Disney Store tomorrow because there's some Princess Diaries like crown ears that I need. So. So for people who aren't familiar, D23 is the Disney fan club convention, so think like San Diego Comic Con or Star Wars Celebration. This is like the Disney fan convention. Happens every other year. I believe it's always in Anaheim. Then they have destination D23 which I believe is in Florida. I think so. Which is the other the opposite years, but it's not as big. No, I don't think so. Yeah.

00:07:26And so it's usually over three days, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and each day they have like a big like panel. They have like the the Disney Entertainment panel, which they go over all the movies, upcoming movies, TV shows, games, staying things like that. And then they have the parks panel on Saturday, which is obviously all about the parks. And then they on Sunday they have the Disney Legends ceremony where they induct new legends as Disney Legends into the company. Speaking of, I saw a little bit of Le Manuel Miranda, like, did his speech. He rewrote lyrics to Part of Your World. Oh, really? It was really good. That's cool, really good.

00:08:07Nice. So so Sunday or Friday was all about the movies and TV shows, all the Disney properties. So, I mean, you got 20th Century Fox, you have Bluey, you have there was a. Bluey panel and I didn't get to go. They had the voices of Bandit and Chick. I know, I know. I would have cried. Star Wars, Lucasfilm, obviously Pixar, Disney Animation, Disney Studios, so all the different movies and TV show studios that, that they have that they Marvel, yeah, Marvel, that that was a big one. So, OK, so it's just a few things we want to touch on and then we'll get to the parks, 'cause that's what we talk about

00:08:56more than movies here. They showed a little tiny teaser of the Tangled live action and I was pleasantly surprised 'cause I've been nervous about that. Tangled, it's one of my very favorite movies. Not just Disney, just in general. I've seen some behind the scenes posts on Instagram or IG a few weeks back. I thought I was like oh it looked. It looked pretty good to me. She looked good because I've been saying and I wish they would have done and OK, they still could do it like they with, with CGI or whatever. If they can bring Carrie Fisher back, they could make Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi look younger.

00:09:31OK, like I I'm I have a hard time that it's not them if they are not the king and queen that will be very upsetting and a huge miss opportunity like they need to make Mandy Moore and Zachary like the I feel like every theater will just like burst into like applause. Katherine Hahn amazing Mother Gothel. But I and I saw a little clip of the actor and actress. I don't know their names that play Rapunzel and Flynn talking about how they were shooting in Spain and they they looked good. Like I was like, oh, OK, 'cause I don't know this kid, he's in like Disney Channel stuff or something. I'm too old. Like, I don't know, past my time.

00:10:19And but I was like, OK, OK, I can see it. I can see it. So it made me more excited for it and hopeful for it. Tangled 3. Not Tangled. I'm three. Frozen. Frozen 3 I was a little like because because they show what looks like maybe an evil ice queen as a villain, which if you don't know when they first originally started the the story writing Frozen, that's what Elsa was going to be like and she was going to be evil ice queen like the whatever story that they took it from. But what I don't what I'm like because even though I was telling you this the other day in the car, my whole thing,

00:11:04there's never really been it hasn't been villain focused. Frozen. Yes, Hans is a villain. She's. Not right. It's like the issue is actually her. It's it's, it's not really, he's kind of a side character. Like yes, he's the villain, but it's not the focus of the story. The focus of the story is, you know, Elsa getting control over powers, right? And then Frozen 2, there's not a villain. Like there's a problem. There's a problem that they're solving or something they're looking for, but there's not a villain. So for this one to then have a villain, I'm kind of like, I

00:11:45don't know how that's going to feel. I don't know. Well, they probably didn't have any other ideas like, well, what? What? What's going to be the issue in this episode or this movie? But from the trailer or teaser or whatever, like I, I'm so excited to take our daughter like. Oh yeah, she's going to love it because first time seeing Frozen in the theaters. Yeah, because the other two came up before she was born and I've never gotten to take her to see a Princess movie in the theaters. Same thing with Tangled, live action. Like, I'll get to take her to

00:12:19see that, Like, and, you know, if you don't know, you know, we have three boys and then a girl. And so getting to take her to do these girly Princess things is like a dream come true for me. So I'm very excited to take her. She's seen all the Pixar movies, but there hasn't been, you know, one that came out. I think Wish came out during. Did it come to theaters? It was towards the end of the pandemic and we still weren't like I and she was still she was. Still really young. A year and a half, maybe 2. Maybe because she was born during the pandemic. So I yeah. But OK, Now on to Bluey. There was a Bluey teaser. There's a lot of controversy

00:13:05about this, Bluey. Teaser and the animation is different, so the animation is more like. 3D3D yeah. How the show is, Yeah, it did not bother me. I was a little surprised. Like I was like, oh, it looks a little different, but the voices are the same. And I feel like that is more important. If they got different voices, that would be like, oh, no, But it didn't really bother me. I haven't seen any of the things you've been telling me that people are really upset about it. You go to any on any post about it like the trailer or to any Disney posts on IG or Tiktok. All the comments are negative. Almost every single one is like

00:13:49why did you change this? My kids not going to want to watch this. This is what made bluey so unique is the animation style. Oh, I don't. Think that's true at all? I don't think that's what makes it unique at all. So I think it comes down to like, if they're going to do a movie where it can keep somebody's attention for an hour and a half, close to two hours, you kind of have to have that style. It allows you there's, there's more. I think it allows the, the, the animators and the the directors of the the film makers a lot more creative creativity, opportunities to do things where they probably couldn't do in

00:14:30your traditional 2D style cartoon. I mean the our, our three younger kids, which they're not really that, you know, but. 1310 and 5. 1310 and five the ones that watch Bluey the most none of them cared like my our five year old did not care. They they they commented like oh it looks different. They did not care at all like they were like still like couldn't wait. They can't wait to see it. So we are definitely going to see it and I'm probably going to cry. You guys. I've said I think we should start a blue podcast and I stamp it. Like just going episode by episode and talking about like

00:15:15diving deep into the episode. I think it would be a fantastic podcast. There probably is 1, but we're going to do another. One other big movie announcements, Princess Diaries 3, which is kind of a big deal. I they have to already be filming it, I hope, because Julie Andrews has to be in it. Oh, interesting. They're showing Bluey in a different medium to help it transition. I haven't noticed that. I haven't seen that. Do you think Animal Kingdom will close Yeti before Tropical America's opens? I don't know. I don't know. Are you serious, Jamie? Was there a Princess Diaries

00:16:03too? Yes. It's fantastic. Yes. Chris Pine. Oh, my gosh. I love Princess Diaries, too. I love Princess Diaries. I love Julie Andrews is one of my favorite human beings on the planet. So they have to film it because she's 90. And if she's not in it, No one. Everyone boycott. OK, Everybody boycott. No, they wouldn't do it without her. They wouldn't. Yeah. No. What? She has to be in it. I won't see it without it.

00:16:31I won't. I don't. Would Anne Hathaway go do it without Julie Andrews? That would change my opinion of her. I don't. Think she would. She did a statement. Julie Andrews did. I mean, they, I, I don't, I don't know if I could see if Julie Andrews is in it, honestly. And I love Princess Diaries. I'm surprised you didn't talk about the Julie Andrews documentary. Oh my gosh, that's. Excited about that? They could say announced that a few weeks ago. Yes, I'm so excited about that. Which scared me because it was

00:17:03just like, it was just a post. I mean, it's just a picture of her. I was like, Oh no. Yeah, Tim got scared for me because he just squirreled, saw a picture of Julie Andrews, a headline about Julie Andrews, and he got scared for me because I'm she's OK. She's just 90. We'll. See, we'll see. I I I won't. I haven't read too much into Princess Diaries 3 but I just saw that it was announced. But I mean Anne Hathaway what came on stage to announce it, so I assume she's in it. Oh, she is in it. Yes, she is. In it. She's been talking.

00:17:36She confirmed that they were going to do something she was on like Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon or something like a couple of years ago and said that they had agreed to do it. As far as Julie Andrews, we shall. See. But anyways, so Star Wars Ahsoka season 2 and the new the release of teaser trailer for those in the audience of Star Wars Starfighter starring Ryan Gosling, which looks really good. What? No, Julie Andrews will not be in not seeing it. I'm not saying it. Did they give a reason why? She confirmed that she turned down the offer to reprise her role as Queen Clarice Rinaldi,

00:18:24explaining that she is effectively retired from on screen film acting and feels the news story should focus entirely on Mia's journey as queen. OK, she retired, but like, come on, at 90 years old, she noted that too much time has passed since the second film and she has passed doing that style of on screen work. Well, at least. Well, we'll get into the parks later. So I I is Chris Pine in it. If she has a new man that's going to let's just, let's just see what's happening here. All right, moving on. This isn't a Princess Diaries podcast. Could. Be I love Prince, Yeah, 'cause she at least have a cameo.

00:19:18Like she at least has to do something, right? Like I understand she's 90 but like come on. And then Marvel got the new Doomsday trailer. They announced a new X-Men Movie coming out in 2028 with the new X-Men cast. And so that was cool. And then so then Saturday was the parks panel, which was streamed live on Disney Plus. Yes. OK. So we watched it over. OK. We'll get into details, but overall feelings? I thought it was kind of lame. It was kind of like, OK, this is everything that you've already talked about the last time. Yeah, just with like, oh, now we

00:20:11have concept art and here's a logo. Yeah, I feel like it was just updates on everything they announced the last time. Yeah. So they last time they announced Lion King ride in Paris, they announced the two new rides and adventures Campus Coco, they announced Monstropolis, they announced Villains Land. Did they? Announcement on slam they announced cars the new cars land bringing coming to Magic Kingdom and this time and they announced there was going to be more stuff with Disney Cruise Line and this time they just updated on all of those things. There was which OK, I also understand they announce that. That's a lot.

00:20:59Yeah, right. Like 2 new plan they started. The panel. In Kanto, yeah. And they started the panel saying this is the most that that Imagineering has ever done all at once. I mean, it is a lot like when you 'cause I was, I was like disappointed and then I was thinking about it last night as I just do. They they are not, they're doing a lot. So like that's how many new lands, like 3 new lands. Is that 3 just in world because they have the tropical Americas, whatever. So they're I mean, it's they're they're they're just revamping Dino land. But like still they're totally

00:21:45changing that, right. So that's the new, not a new ride, but a new theme of a ride. Then a whole new area there. They're doing villains land, a whole new land, cars land. You know, they took out Tom Sawyer's island over Magic Kingdom. They're doing cars land. That's two new rides. Monstropolis, whole new area. Villain Land, whole new area, new rides, new restaurants, new stores. Then out here in California, 2 new big rides in Avengers Campus, Cocoa ride like Paris. Yeah, Lion King. So that is a lot. So then I'm like, OK, like and then are they announcing a bunch of new stuff this year like that?

00:22:27It makes sense that there wasn't really anything new because they have so much coming, but I was disappointed that there was no mention of Disneyland forward. Yeah, which I, I looked a little bit into this. So apparently Disneyland forward forward is just the the plan for expanding Disneyland. Like there's this just it's a term that they're using for Disneyland into the future, not so much of like. But they made, I feel like they made a big deal about taking out like the doing this walkway from here to here and we're gonna take out that parking lot. It's gonna be a new section of the park and. It's just I guess it's just the name of what they're calling of for revamping Disneyland, not so

00:23:19much of like Disneyland forward is the the expansion of like a new park in Disneyland. What I guess it's all part of that. It's just like the internal code name and what they're doing to yeah, do what Gina says surrounding the they're updating the surrounding area. Not so much of like here are concrete plans. It's what they're using to pitch towards community leaders, Anaheim community leaders and things like that. And so, but still, I feel like Disneyland, the OGOG is getting left, is is putting, is being put in the corner. At the same time they are doing Avatar Oh, which they didn't really talk anything about that they I.

00:24:14Got, I got, I got. They just said it's. Coming I'm not super excited about. This but two years ago, the last D23, they made a big deal about Avatar land, the Avatar experience that they're calling it, they're not calling it a land, they're calling it an experience. And they didn't mention anything about it in D23. The the the panel they do in the Imagineers Pavilion, the in the on the on the show floor, they do have a scale model of the land, but they did not talk about it in the actual showcase the the panel yet last night. What they did talk about, which I think everyone's super excited about, is the revamping or the reimagining of Tomorrowland.

00:25:03Right. They closed the show with that. They closed the panel with that which was everyone was excited. So. Our US Landers. There's a there's a journalist by the name of Scott Gustin. If you follow him, he's well known as having insider information for when it comes to Disney parks. OK, he's popular on Twitter. He talked to Imagineers and they said the reason why Avatar Land was not discussed is because now they're revamping of Tomorrowland is now taking priority. And so that they are focusing. Once they get done with with the Cocoa ride and the new parking structure and walkway, that's when they're going to start

00:25:53working on Tomorrowland in front of Avatar Land. So Avatar Land has been put back. That's fine. And so that, you know, it could be another 1015 years before Avatar land actually see it happen. I don't want. To think about how old I will be then. Monsters has been. The Monsters in closing has been quote UN quote cancelled, at least for the next, you know, foreseeable. Future One of the only like rides for little kids in California Adventure. And so they are are are putting the priority of Tomorrowland and the the president Disney experiences.

00:26:35He he didn't give like a time frame. They just said that they're starting to conceptualize what that looks like. And he said, you know, going into the 70th, 5th anniversary, which they just ended their 70th. So it could be a few years before we even see. I mean, but the, the, the anniversary celebrations last a year and a half. So we really only have four years. Yeah, till the 3 1/2. I just, I want, I want Tokyo Disney's Space Mountain because it looks awesome. Oh, the new one? Yeah, the new one, Tokyo. That's another thing I announced.

00:27:12So they are, they're bringing back the like originals, whatever of the one in Paris. I didn't know that it changed. It's been, I've only been there once. It was a long time ago. Yeah, when we went. Was it hyperspace when we? Went it was hyperspace, they had just change of the hyperspace. So we didn't have the original. They're bringing back back the original music and stuff. It's. The Jules Verne. Oh, OK. Steampunk style. Like the best track. The man, the man and the moon. Okay, not the music track. I don't know the music track. Best ride track like the. Space Mountain Paris is awesome.

00:27:48So good, but they're building a new Space Mountain ride in Tokyo and it does look pretty great. So. There was rumors someone came into my life a while back and there was rumors that they were going to be changing the one in Magic Kingdom, which I was like good, you guys need some help over there That was not announced. So I'm sorry for my world friends because you guys need some help in that area. But what are you hoping? Because OK, I'll be honest, I hear that a lot. Tomorrowland needs updating. Tomorrowland need up saying I honestly don't care. Like I'd I'm like whatever. I love space Mountain, Star Tours, I go on with the kids,

00:28:30whatever, thank you. Like I'm just kind of like whatever. Like it's not my favorite land so I don't get, but I've heard it. You have said it. Others, you know, have said it. Other than the people mover coming back to land. I I don't think it's going to happen, but that's what I want. What are you hoping to see? People mover because ever since going to Disney World like I love. So fantastic. I love People Mover. It's so, it's such a simple ride, but it's so. It's so great. I would love to see an update to Space Mountain. What?

00:29:14What? Kind of update. Well, just like a new, a new version of it. I mean, obviously anything newer is gonna be, it's already so good, so. Good. But if they can do something like Disneyland Paris, something more intense, I. Don't. Know, but it's it does feel dated as far as the the whole land. I saw people say like, they'll get rid of Star Tours. Like, don't get rid of Star Tours. Don't get rid of Star Tours. Star Tours. Oh my gosh, I think my kids would. My boys don't cry.

00:29:49Well, I love Star Tours. My oldest, our oldest doesn't cry. I think he'd cry. Let's. Let's. OK, he's right over there. Let's try. Let's tell him. Let's see what happens. Yeah, I mean, they already announced that Autopia is being converted to electric. Which that will be nice because. Yeah. It's like I think the. Exhaust is. Awful 27 or sometime next year that's supposed to be done so I would be happy if Nemo goes away. Get it the heck out of there. Don't need it. Get it out.

00:30:29Nobody needs that, right? It's awful. Yeah, it's awful. Make that something else. Yeah, I was trying to think if I had an idea. Tron. They need Tron. That's what they they need Tron. Tron is too big, it won't fit. Doesn't matter, they just. Need to take out they can take out Nemo. They won't. It won't fit there. It'll make it fit. It'd be a lame Tron. It would be tiny. No, they need to make it. Oh, here's what they do. Because they could turn, They could change Matterhorn theme, and I know people would. It would be a perfect frozen,

00:31:12right? Frozen roller coaster. It could be Sven and Kristoff's like ice. Sledding Adventure. Sledding. Ice sledding. Adventure. Perfect. They could. Change. Tomorrowland though, they could change. Oh you're right, but Nemo's it. So wait, is Nemo considered Tomorrowland or? Fantastic. It's part of Tomorrowland, yeah. Really interesting. But they could make that whole area frozen because they could make Matterhorn frozen and make the Yeti marshmallow and take out Nemo and make some kind of

00:31:49frozen area, make land bigger, Jamie says. See, that's the thing too. It's like when we're talking about OK, you feel like Disneyland got left behind. They are stuck, you know, it's like, and I don't think people are going to be like, oh, that's 'cause Disney World is better. No, I don't think it's better. But the whole reason I love Disney World, don't get me wrong, but the whole reason Walt Disney wanted to buy out there, right, is because he had a room. He could keep growing, he could keep creating. They could he had all of this land and unfortunately, good night, love you. Unfortunately in Anaheim, they are very restricted because and I don't know why, I don't know

00:32:42the history. I don't know why he didn't buy more because a lot of those, you know, it's not like some of those houses did not exist. I mean, it was Orange Orchard. So like, why then he didn't buy more at the time? I don't know. Because now it's like there's houses like down the block, like across the street. So, you know, they they're limited in what they can do, which stinks, which stinks, but. Yeah, I mean, they're, they're limited. They they have to buy some of these hotels that are around the park, which they already have done to make room. They they bought a hotel, demolished it to make room for the new parking structure.

00:33:29And so Disneyland just needs just needs a lot lot. It just needs it needs some love. It needs some love. It needs like 3 more hotels that are value resort. They do even a moderate. Like make one moderate and two value. Buy some of the good neighbor hotels, change their theme to Disney, make them on property hotels. I saw something, I didn't read the whole thing, but some article came out what the Disney property was offering to stay and people were like, no, give us back our early entry. Like this is like it. Yeah. And so many people are just saying, you know, it's not worth

00:34:19staying there anymore. I'm very curious now that it has been what 8 months, almost 7 1/2 what they have seen with the hotels and if they've lost money because people, if people aren't staying in there anymore. We have. Since they got rid of early entry, we've been, well, I guess we've been. Through two or three. We've been, we've been three times, but one was just our quick trip, just me and you. We did stay on property one time or twice because the one trip with just us and then one time we did not. What was I going to say? Oh, but I mean, they're still nicer hotels. They're still and I will say we got a, a discount full price.

00:35:09If you don't get early entry, I'm going to tell you not to do it. Yeah, it's not worth it. Don't do it. It's. Not worth it. Don't do it it. There are nice good neighbor hotels. That are closer. That are, yeah, yeah. Unless it's Grand Californian. You can't really get closer than Grand Californian, but OK, we're not we're talking about D 23. We can go off on this but but it's still but yeah, it's not just do just the still. I'm not over. I'm not over the early entry going away. It was ridiculous and they'd the one thing he said last night

00:35:41when he opened. We heard you. They know. You did it. Did you hear us about Fastpass? Did you hear us about early entry? We've heard we're listening to you. Do you recommend property resorts in Disney World? Absolutely 100% yes. Disney World has what like over 30? I I don't know the exact number, but they have deluxe resort moderate and value. So depending on what you want and what your budget is, you know you can stay on property and get early entry and those other. Parts. So let's get back into the D20.

00:36:20Three sorry D 23. That was a tangent, but. So there's a good question here. So what? What are you most excited for? For what's been announced last night. What am I most excited for? Monstropolis. Yeah, the monsters ride same the they said that the monsters were So if you don't know they're they're in Disney World and Magic King. No Hollywood. Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios building a Monstropolis for Monsters Inc, a new land. The ride is like you are going through the doors. It's a roller coaster. You shoot up the beginning of the ride.

00:37:04You shoot up 40 feet in. 4 seconds 1044 seconds. 4 seconds, 4 seconds. 40 feet in 4 seconds. Hey Big Claws 125, how you doing? I am most excited for that. I'm worried because we were hoping to go next year, spring, summer sometime. They said that the land should be open in 2027, but it didn't sound like the role of the new ride is. Yeah, they said it was going to be. Because we are in California and it's not as easy for us to get out to Florida. I'm like, oh, are we going to? Is people have been saying this in my lives on TikTok for a while, like my my friends that grew up going to world because we the first time we went to world was in 2022. We didn't ride Figment that trip. The first time we rode Figment was in 2024. You and I were like, what in the world? The next year we went back with our kids and they were like, we took them on it and they were like, what in the world? Apparently, no, it wasn't always that like the, the scientist guy, right? I thought one thing that was interesting, like the whole theme of this panel, was the Carousel of Progress. Oh yeah, that's not taking too long, they said Spring of 27. So Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis, who I absolutely love, they did not announce anything new for the Hall of Presidents. And so now they're adding the Internet age to that to make it more modern. Which we've only been on that one once. We only went on that our first trip to our first time there. 00:40:46although I I am for us in our Home Park. I am excited for the new Avengers rides, both of them. That area needs some serious love. Because I do like one, It'll be nice to have the land bigger. Right now the land is very small, but I do love the music. Like it's me, like I I enjoy The Avengers theme song. But yeah, it's like you feel like it's kind of lacking. You've got place a couple places to eat and you've got web slingers and that's really it And then Guardians, but that kind of feels like out of the land a little bit and we. Had. We had that before Avengers Campus, so so having a bigger land and two new rides will be

00:41:38nice because it kind of just feels kind of like it falls flat. It'll be nice too that they're opening the walkway again so there's a walkway between Avengers Campus. We forgot about that. You had to walk all the way around. Because there's there's usually a walkway between Avengers campus that goes into cars land. Yeah, our last time there I did it like 3 times like I was trying to cut through. I'm like oh let's just go this way. And they're like Dang it. So so they're opening that soon, so that'll be nice. But yeah, there was really nothing. Nothing like super new.

00:42:12It was a lot of a lot of updates. I mean, they did, they did have John Stamos. So they. Did have John. Stamos so that was cool. John Stamos came out. I will say the whole kind of show seemed like no one really knew what they were doing like. Well, obviously it looked like they, they, they tried to produce it up because they knew, like, our announcements aren't that great this year. OK, so our son, because our daughter would always tease our boys like I don't like Star Wars, Star Wars nut. And but our 13 year old told her that there's a Princess like Princess Leia. She's like, she's really a Princess. And he was like, yeah. And then she's like, well, who's that? They were watching a, I don't know, something, and he was like, well, that's queen. That's queen. I'm at all. I was like, that's Princess Leia's mom, so there's a

00:44:45Princess. So I like Star Wars now because there's a Princess in it, so she likes it now. She was watching all the like the the Lego Star Wars today. Yeah. And so, which they're pretty funny. And she said something like, do you like Star Wars? And I was like, I have liked Star Wars longer than anyone else in this house, including your father. Seriously. I was like, I have been a Star Wars fan longer than anyone else in this house. Your father was not a Star Wars fan until he was, what, in high school? No, I was like early teens, maybe tweens.

00:45:23That's high school. I was. No, no, it was, I was middle school. It was middle. School. OK, Wow. Cuz I I what? Was it TV Guide? Or was it People magazine, some, some magazine my mom had around laying around the house And there was like, it was like, like the, the best bloopers or hidden moments within like popular movies. And one of them was from A New Hope where the stormtrooper hits his head on the door as he's walking in. And I was like, oh, that's, that's I want to see that. And so my dad had one of the original VHS Star Wars tapes.

00:46:05Just one. Maybe. Maybe it was the three set like the the thick the thick one. That's what we had. We had the original that came out on VHS. And so. When it was really. So I started watching and then I was like, oh, this is cool. I like it. So those around, that's how I got into it. But I really got into it. And later in middle school when the episode 1 came out, I'm a prequel kid. Yeah, where I have a Big Brother who is very much into 45 and six and they were on in my house all the time and he had Lego sets and all the things. And so I don't remember a time

I honestly if they for Disneyland, if they would have announced early entry coming back, I would have been very happy. I have a feeling that. Early entry is never coming back. But I've forgotten early entry, which not a lot of people because it wasn't as accessible in land because there's only three hotels and they're all more expensive. Used to be part of like your tickets, like if you had like a 2 day park, he had at least a 2 day park Copper you got the magic extra magic hour. Really. I don't remember that it was like it came with the tickets. It was either through like the multi day, multi day tickets or if you're staying on property. Oh, I don't. You got the the extra hour and it was after COVID when they brought it back to 30 minutes, but it was only if you were.

00:47:59Before. Before. Was it before COVID? Yeah. Oh yeah. They turned to 30 minutes. Oh yeah. Yeah, they used to also have a specific line if you were, if you had early entry. So they didn't let. That was after the pandemic when they started, I believe when they started letting everybody in before they, they had may have been before, but they had specific lines. So you got an early entry to the entire park where after that they let everyone into the park and early entry just got to go into the land. And really they brought it down to where it was just

00:48:32Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. You didn't have all of the lands open. So they were, it was getting cut back. But the fact that it's gone is ridiculous. But saw original at the drive in in 77. 00:49:17news and they did say Tomorrowland and which will be nice, but yeah, I. Think I wanted more specific dates. I did want some more specific dates like I would have, which I get that they can't necessarily give that if they're in, you know, with some things, if they're in the middle of building, they don't want to necessarily give a specific date and then have people mad. They probably have to wait till they get to a certain point in the project where they can be like, OK, you know, we can say now that it will be done by this point. Yeah. Yeah, it was. That's kind of our reaction. It's kind of like.

Talked about Julie Andrews and I didn't even talk about this. It was the fireworks for the 50th, which, yes, I was there. It's wonderful. It's a wonderful fireworks show. So productions on the Castle on Main Street in Rivers of America and Small World.

00:50:34That was when I got my my routine down during that time period of I watched the parade. I don't remember what the parade was at that time. I'd have to look back, look it up, and then I'd get a churro. I'd get my spot at the parade, which was also my spot in the fireworks, which no longer, they no longer let you stand in the spot that I used to stand in. Was perfect by the statue. Yeah, on the backside of the partner statue in front of the gate, the wrought iron gate there like by the other little statues there. And I'd stand there for the parade. Then I'd go get a a churro and then I'd wait for the fireworks for hours. You are no longer allowed to

00:51:16stand there. It's reserved. Reserved for the VIP but. It was during that firework show. Yeah. It's a good one. I'm excited about that. It is a good one. It's it's a.
