00:00:04Welcome to this happy place. Welcome. Hey guys, it's Tim. And welcome to episode 115 of The Dreaming of Disney podcast. I'm with my beautiful and lovely and amazing wife Adrianne. And we are keeping our our schedule. I know for like for the first. Time in a very long time. For the first time in forever. That's nice. And with that, goodbye. See you later. Yeah, 115. We are on our way to 200. Yeah, kind of like we've been on our way to 1000 followers on Instagram for like the last year. I know it goes up a little bit, it goes down a little bit, it goes up a little.

00:01:09Bit we've been like stuck in the same spot. That's right. That's all right. Because. Because in September is when I went by myself, yeah, to Disneyland. And that's when I got the that's when I bought the gift for the giveaway when we reached 1000. Yeah, I still have it. Seriously. Maybe not. I still have it and even when we packed and we moved, I made sure to write on the box where I packed the giveaway gift. I don't know where it is. Do you know where it is? Well, I don't know that I've unpacked it. No, I I'm pretty sure. Yes, I think I know where it is.

00:01:46Well, a month from now was today. Today we're recording this on the 8th. 7 eighth. It's the 8th right now. Is it so? Yes, it is. We a month from now we will be in Disneyland. Oh my gosh, will be our second day. Oh my gosh, I can't wait to try the new beignet cold brew at Tiana's. I can't wait to get the magic key I have. I have a friend going in a couple weeks and she was like, let me know if there's anything you'd like you have to have. And I was like, well, I'm going a few weeks after you. But no, I didn't. I was like, there's just too

00:02:23much. I can't even tell you because I'm like, should I ask her to get me a key? They're apparently sold out. Oh, are they? So if she sees one. They're not expected to be back in stock until end of June. OK, she's going in two weeks. I might ask her then. Or the it's called the Key to Disneyland, so not the magic. Not the Magic Key, not the key to Disneyland. I'm I might ask her then be like, if you see one, don't use it, don't open it. And they're a little pricey. I'll pay her back. The only thing is that, well, nevermind. Yeah, yeah. Going back to the the the

00:03:04beignet cold brew, apparently there's two different kinds. There's the regular cold brew that has the the beignet cream Topper. We got a new kit. So sorry, I'm distracted. Adriana's distracted by her cuteness. Well cuz she's out as we just got her yesterday and so we've had her in the bathroom to like slowly introduce her to the other cats and we have her out tonight and they're playing and it's cute. So yeah, so there's two, there's a regular cold brew, which is like it's very similar to the black calf where it has, you know, the cold brew and then the the the sweet cream topping. But then they have a Nitro cold brew.

00:03:50Are you familiar with a Nitro cold brew? I remember you getting it at Starbucks. I don't. Yeah. So it's like it's like a beer. It's it's similar to a beer. It's not carbonated, but it's like the same like consistency. It's infused with nitrogen. So it makes a lot lighter, kind of like fluffier almost. OK, I want creamier coffee. But because someone on Tiktok was reviewing it the the beignet and she got the Nitro cold brew. Was that the millennial? Magic millennial. Yeah, and did. She review because when I saw it she was trying to get one. I don't remember which one she got.

00:04:31She just climbed up my legs with her claws. She was doing the well one. It was the the the black calf slushie. No, I saw that one, but though I saw one where she was talking about the new beignet cold brew and she was trying to get it and she had to go back the next day. I don't I don't think she got the night. She must have more than one video then of reviewing. She got the Nitro. She didn't know that there was two different versions. I'm going to have to. I'm going to have to look. And, and so people are like, oh, get the regular cold brew, it's a lot better. Because the Nitro is not as. Sweet.

00:05:12And it also doesn't have ice in it either. What? Yeah. So it's it's served like cold but infused with nitrogen. Doesn't have ice. I like ice. Yeah. And then there's the the one that I've seen a lot that people are like, Oh my God, I love this. And others say like, oh, this disgusting. It's it's in Daisy's Cafe in Toontown. And it's like a strawberry cold brew that's like a strawberry cream Topper. Some people say they really like it, others don't. I guess it tastes like a, a very specific like strawberry protein

00:05:50bar people like. So I don't know because. I I like strawberry a lot, but I don't necessarily like strawberry and coffee together, so I don't. Know anyways, there's that, but one thing I wanted to talk about is earlier this week or last week when you're reading that or listening to this Disneyland drop some news about Disney California Adventure and that they're making some changes. Well, two, there's three announcements. 1 is the Disneyland Esplanade, the entrance onto from the Harbor Harbor side. Right. And then two others for California don't get on my computer. All right.

00:06:50Kitten has been moved away from the computer. OK, but real quick, I'm sorry to go back a little bit, the magic Millennial, it's a it's not at Daisy's. It's Baymax, it's in. That's right, it's in California Adventure. I'm watching. Her. Yeah, I'm watching her because yeah, she said. Like a something strawberry, some kind of protein bar. Anyways, just wanted to correct real quick. It's DCA. It's in San Francisco. So, so the first thing which I think is greatly needed is the new entrance on the Harbor Blvd. side, which is the good neighbor hotel side.

00:07:31They're going to be doing a whole new transportation center. So if you have ever been to Disney World, between Epcot and Disney or Magic Kingdom is what's called the TTC, the Transportation and Ticket Center. Oh, is that where you can get on the monorail? Yeah. OK, so there's a big parking lot and you can get on the monorail, you can buy your tickets there, all that stuff. And then and then you can go where you need to go. So they're going to be doing something similar in Disneyland. They're taking was now a cast member parking lot, building a parking garage and then a transportation center to where they can then bus guests into

00:08:22the park. They're going to build a a edestrian walkway that goes over Harbor Blvd. Which that will be nice. Yeah. And then they're also updating the Esplanade, so there's going to be a new entrance on the Harborside with the with a, if you've seen the concept artwork, it's like a, a vintage looking Disneyland sign. In the Esplanade. Yeah, so on on the Harborside. So once you walk in, do you know OK, Because you know, right, you walk in, there's like a there's like nothing wrong. Well, there's like a, there's like a Disneyland sign, but it's like a. Oh yeah. Like right on.

00:08:59Yeah. Right on Harbor, Yeah. So there's it's like being totally redone. It looks like they're taking out the, the shuttle stop where you like, you know, they, they pull in and they turn around, looks like they're taking that out. So that will be really nice 'cause that's needed. Yeah, that side, yeah. Because whenever we go and when we decide when we, you know, want to save a little bit of money and we stay at a good neighbor hotel, I'm like, we have to go out on the harbor. It's so fun, you know, because that's not always, you know, growing up And then in my sorry, I thought I heard something in my early, then in my teens and early 20s, that's the side I

00:09:51always stayed on. Yeah. Like in high school, right after high school, like I would book those hotels, Tropicana Inn, Del Sol Inn, Get Del Sol Inn and you know, the early 2000s for like 70 bucks a night directly across the street. I didn't even know about the other side. I didn't even know about Downtown Disney. Like, that's all I knew. Yeah. I. Don't think they had Downtown Disney back then. In the 2000s, early 2000s, when did? Let's see, I opened up, I think around the same time as Grand California. Grand, California.

00:10:26Hotel. Oh grand California hotel. Let's see when. Did, but it just, it's like you don't feel like you're in a Disney bubble on that side. I yeah. And I used to, it's the same kind of thing where like I used to. And then when I started staying at like a Disney resort, then I was like, oh, no, this feels more like a Disney bubble. And then when I've gone to Disney World, I'm like, oh, I see. OK, no, not like the time of day. Is somebody sneezing up there? I don't know. I don't hear anything. I keep hearing oh it's probably the washer.

00:11:10OK, when did Downtown Disney open in? But. I want to know, it's just giving me like maps and like all the stores. No, I don't want the stores. When you're going to ask chat GTP? No, I'm going to ask Siri when did Downtown Disney open in Anaheim, CA? January 12th, 2001. What? OK, so when I yeah. So then when I was going like, not when I was little, little, but when I was like a teenager and then young adult, but I didn't even like, I didn't even know that side. What was my point? I don't know. Anyways, yeah.

00:11:59Just about how like it, doesn't it? Right. Because because if you stay at Disneyland Hotel, if you stay at Pixar Place, obviously Grand California, if you stay at any of the Disneyland resorts, you don't have to leave the Disney area. You walk through Downtown Disney and even though there's stores there that aren't Disney, it's still Disney, you know, and to your hotel where if you stay on the harbour side, then there's like a Denny's and a Mimi's Cafe and you know, you're just on the street. Yeah. But there's like, there's like the traffic. Yeah, that's where the where the rideshare and.

00:12:40More people stay over there on that side. It's just, it's just more crowded. Yeah. But one thing that I someone commented and I thought that was a really interesting there's hotels on the other side of Harbour to where you would have to like walk a couple of blocks. They get to Harbour Blvd. In the yeah. This pedestrian bridge will now allow you to bypass all that and just walk straight over. Where is the bridge going to come out? I don't know, but someone there was someone made like a map of like this is where we think it will be based on where that parking lot is for that they're building the the parking garage.

00:13:32And so it's going to have a lot more direct access to the to the working distracted by cats. Sorry, I'm distracted by the cute kitten. So anyways, that will be good for everybody, but it'll. Be good for everybody. It'll be good for everybody, Everybody that's. Everybody involved, it'll be good for everyone involved. Anyways, this is so exciting talking about parking. Then they announced the second. The second announcement was that there's going to be a Cocoa ride. We knew that there was going to be a Cocoa ride going to be in California Adventure. It's going to be near Paradise Gardens, which is in between. It's like that.

00:14:27Like after Inside Out, Emotional whirlwind, I think it's called. Yeah, It's like there and between pizza, pasta and boardwalk. Which there's not really anything there. Isn't anything there. I mean, there's not that much space there either. They must be using the like they're. Using the back lot like behind, yeah. Because I'm like, there's, there's not a whole lot of space there. Yeah. So they're going to be building behind there and then there's going to be a Coco ride, which is a boat ride right through. 35 minutes for in credit coaster right now.

00:15:03Oh wait, no, I'm sorry. 35 minutes for Toy Story Mania. Oh. Wow, that's that's pretty good. Well, it's probably right before World of Color, because the other two rides are. Oh yeah. In credit coasters down. Well, credit coaster goes. During Worlds of Color. 85 minutes for racers right now, 105 for Guardians. Wow, people like to writing that at night, Yeah. 40 40 for monsters. No, yeah, because people want to ride that nice segue into the next announcement, which is the one that a lot of people are upset about. We all knew that Avatar was coming to California Adventure and everyone kind of had an idea

00:15:54of where it's going to be. But now Disney confirmed it that Avatar is coming to the Hollywood back lot area. So if you walk down what is what is that? It's not going to Vista St. Hollywood. Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood Blvd. So like that's where like award Wieners is and. Oh, there's something there. Or no, there's something. That's Smoogies, Smoothies and Animation Academy or the Animation Building. Oh, oh, OK, remind me to come back to that. Keep going. OK. And so it's if you're walking down there and you're walking into the left of that is the

00:16:42back lot area. So where Monsters Inc, I can solely to the rescue. I have a kitten crawling on me. That's where Avatar is going to be built. And there's a whole like back lot area. But because of that, Mike Sully is going away. Which I am very sad about because I love Monsters Inc. I know it's not like the best and I'll like, I know I've told this story before, but when they announced the that it was becoming a monster's ride or that it had opened was right before or the first time I wrote it was when I went in 2005. And Oh my gosh, when we got her yesterday, I was holding her in the car and we drove through Starbucks and the barista was

00:17:45like, Oh my goodness, it's a little kitten. She just like some resulted down the couch ANYWAYS. And I remember we were like all me and my siblings and my mom were hoping like that it was going to be what the new one is going to be where like, I hope it's like you're on the doors and you're going through the back, you know, through the IT was like a very slow little ride through. But kids always like it. And I love Monsters, Inc. So the fact that they're just taking away like because the the monster, the new Monsters Inc ride is in. Disney World. Disney World, right? Oh my God, Paris. What's in Paris that we wanted?

00:18:32Oh, Lion King, Disney World. And so it's like Disneyland. So I'm like, you couldn't do it like and leave monsters. Like there's just, I don't like that they're getting rid of something Disney slash Pixar to bring in something that's not, which is kind of what they did with bugs Life or not kind of it is they got rid of a bugs land Disney Pixar and made it Avengers campus. And I, I don't mind Avengers campus. I don't love it. It's not, I'm going to spend a lot of time there, but I like Pym's kitchen. I like the Spider Man ride. It's fun with our kids. I I, I like The Avengers movies. So like, even though I'm like, I love guardians both years.

00:19:24And a lot better now that they've started construction on the expanding it. Oh, they started the construction, but still, it's just, it's like a yeah, they should expand it because it's kind of like a it's. Kind of lame. Lame land, but they have some good rights. But so even though I, I'm, I was really upset about that change and I like the rides, I still miss a Bug's Land. It was so good for little kids, so good when you have toddlers. Like we spent so much time there with Jack and Noah when they were little like. And then so anyways, so it kind of similar because Mike and Soley's ride is like a very Kitty ride and.

00:20:10Taking away something Disney to bring in something that's not at all. Yeah, it's one of two rides in all of California Venture that doesn't have a height requirement. Do you know what the other one is? What? Little Mermaid? Yeah. You know how fast I came with that? Wow. I am proud of myself. I didn't hesitate. Which we we've talked. About we've talked about that in the past. Oh gosh, we've talked about that in the past. I'm sure we've brought it up when I know we've had like

00:20:44questions where like a family, what was her name? I think her name was Ashley. Like asked us what she would do with these little kids over. And we've talked about how there's not as much to do in California with little kids as there is in Disneyland. Like whenever we've had a kid under a height requirement, which we currently do, she's getting there. She's over 40 inches, but she's not much over 40. There's there's just not a the, the toddlers tend to not have as much to do in. She's chasing them in California. And so there's a lot more writer swap. Yeah, things happening. There have been times where

00:21:26we're in California and we're like Georgia hasn't ridden a ride all day like and then some are smaller height requirements. Mayor's she's been able to ride for over a year and so and Luigi's too, because I think it's 32. Inches. So she could ride those when she was like 2 1/2 like so you know, there's those, but they got rid of Bugs Land. They're getting rid of this to bring an avatar. And I love again, if you've listened for a while, if you ever listen to our anything, we've talked about Disney World. I love Flight of passage. The first time I wrote it, I cried like I I had tears in my eyes. And I don't I've only seen

00:22:12Avatar once all the way through. I'm not an Avatar fan. I mean, I didn't not like the movie. I just don't remember. It wasn't, you know, I'm not like, oh, I want to watch Avatar. It's just like, I remember being like, oh, wow, cool. And that was it. But the ride is incredible. It is. Not they're not bringing fly the passage here, but I'm saying like I'm saying like the Avatar land in Animal Kingdom in Disney World is cool, but I could leave it. But the ride is absolutely incredible. But I don't want, but I don't like taking something Disney away for it because it's

00:22:50Disneyland. I mean, I know this is California Adventure, but it's the Disneyland resort. And I, I mean, it's, I guess it's the Walt Disney World Resort and it's there. I don't even know. Is this kind of like a like, you know how space not space Mountain? Star Tours was in Disneyland before they? Before they bought, yeah. Star Wars or Lucasfilm, is that like this? Because they don't own. I mean, James Cameron's not going. To give up anything when when Pandora was built in Animal Kingdom and Disney World in Florida, James Cameron licensed it to Disney to build it.

00:23:40So they didn't own it. They paid him the the the paid him to let Disney build it. Disney now owns Avatar when they built 20 when they bought 20th Century Fox a few years ago. So now they bought Fox the the movie studio Fox and so now they own the franchise. OK, so they do. They do own it now. OK, So it makes sense. But you know, people are like everyone's saying, like, we didn't ask for this, we don't want this. And why are they putting the desert? We didn't ask for this. It's not like they have like a comment card box and they. Let's go through the suggestion. Box and that's, I think you suggestion Box and that's how

00:24:25they decide what to do at Disneyland. We didn't ask for this. Yeah, we didn't ask for any of the things they made. Did we ask for Toy Story? No, they created it. Avatar, the first Avatar and the second Avatar are in the top five highest grossing movies of all time, so they're. Very, I didn't see, I didn't see the second one. So I did not contribute to that high gross. So, so they're obviously very popular. So I mean, Disney's not going to be like, let's just put Avatar in there because. Oh no, I'm sure it'll be amazing. It's going to be amazing and they know that people want it

00:25:07and that they're going to go and it's going to bring people and it's just, yeah, it's kind of, it's sad to see Monsters go. I could care less really honestly because I was never a fan of the Monsters ride well. It's not like I think the ride is super fun. It's small for me and I'm 5/2. Like. It is it is hard for you to fit in it, but I love the monsters movies and I am not pro getting rid of something that's actually Disney to bring in something that's not and to take away something for young children to bring in Avatar, which it's going to be a thrill ride. And even if they have, what do they? Think so that they. Navi River journey, my goodness.

00:25:55It on all the concept art it looks like a boat ride. If it's Navi River journey, I'm walking, I'm never going back. But send it back. But like OK even if they have a ride that doesn't have a height requirement like Navi River journey, are kids going to be that into it or are they can? Does my mic sound funny? No OK. Or are they like they're not going to be into it? What 3 year old knows avatar? Well, there we go. Now I can hear myself. What 3 year old knows avatar and instead of Mike and Sully like it's just it. So I don't like that because I have before, you know, like when we first were married, you know, 15 years ago ish, we've been

00:26:51married longer than that. But around the time like I would only spend like half a day in California. So like 2015 to 20 years ago, I would spend half a day in California and be good. That's not the case anymore. California has grown on me the more that they, when they redid it and made it more Disney. I know I've seen some people be like bring back the way it was on California. There's some things that yes, I liked in the original, but I remember and I know I've told this story before too, but the first time I ever went, I went in 2001, spring of 2001. So it had only been open for a few months. I didn't even realize that. Like, I was down in Anaheim for

00:27:34a choir festival my freshman year. And on our way home we did. Oh, no, no, no, I'm sorry. Not on our way home. That was senior year, Freshman year, the festival, the music days, was actually at Disneyland. So, so cool. And then the second day we did a half a day in the new park. I didn't know how new IT was. Like I again, this is long before social media and stuff. So unless and I was 14, so it's not like I was watching the news or seeing anything about a new Disneyland park opening. And I just remember we had spent the day in Disneyland. And then the next day we did half a day in California Adventure and oh gosh, I should

00:28:20go back and find pictures because I took pic. I have pictures of me and my friends like on the California sign and stuff. But me and my best friend were like, we didn't like it because they were playing like Beach Boys music and stuff. And I love The Beach Boys. I grew up on The Beach Boys. But I was like, it's not Disney like this feels like I'm at Santa Cruz beach boardwalk. Like it's it felt exactly like Santa Cruz. I think that's what they were going for. And so they nailed that. But but I was like, no, I want to be in Disneyland. So for years it was like Disneyland and then like spend a little time in California, do

00:28:52like the roller coaster Grizzly River Run. Yeah, that we liked the and they they still had the animation studio. We thought Hollywood was really cool. But when they redid it and it's more Disney like, I have really come to love California Adventure. I look for Cars Land because I love cars. Like I have come to really love California Adventure. I don't know as well with this either. Just such a whiner. Talking about the cats, the. Cat, not you. This our our oldest cat. He's not old, but he's the oldest one and he's just so needy.

00:29:33My goodness. He's met this kit. He met this kitten like, what, four hours ago, and now he can't find her. And he's like, where are you? Like, he's. Yeah, I just. And you know, like I said, it'll be amazing because everything they do is. I was upset about Guardians of Galaxy taking over Tower of Terror again. Tower of Terror. It's not something I was attached to as far as like the Twilight Zone show, like, I don't know, like I don't care. But it was like, Oh no, this is the original. This is what I like. Then they did Guardians and I'm like, shoot man, it's better.

00:30:07Way better. There's people still people still arguing about about which one is better. I mean now. It's mainly some people are going to like, I mean, OK, if you haven't ridden it and don't like spoilers, skip over this next 60 seconds. I don't know, maybe someone's like, hey, we've never been to Disneyland. We're going for the first time. Let's listen to some Disney podcasts as I did when we were going to Disney World, which is how we found podcasts and how we started podcasts with the Tower of Terror in Disney in California. I'm not even going to touch the one the original in Disney World because I'm sorry, that one is

00:30:46lame. I'm the out, the outside, the decor, the actual building, the theming. Thank you. Is better. Yes. Absolutely better than it is California. It looks like a hotel where the California one never really did, but the actual ride isn't that great. The one in California Tower of Terror started by slowly taking you up. And you didn't realize you were going up. You didn't. Realize you were going up because there was a story and then you would drop. Yeah, Skip. If you haven't been on Guardians

00:31:20of the Galaxy, don't tell me, Don't tell me. Mission breakout. And you want to, but you don't want to hear it. Skip, over the next 15 seconds, Guardians of the Galaxy, mission breakout. You don't know what's happening. All of a sudden you shoot up really fast. Oh yeah, so amazing. It's amazing there are more drops. There are it. It feels longer to me. Definitely longer than Tower of Terror in Disney World. I can't remember in California, but in Disney World, we just went on it last year and it is definitely longer. It's so good. Like, it's so good.

00:31:57And like, even like my sister, who was not happy about the change, I was like, just wait. I know, I know. I wasn't either because we're like loyalists, like we're sentimental. She wasn't. I was like, just just wait. And she's like, yeah, OK, that like, you know, I feel like the only change this is possibly not true, but one of the changes I wasn't upset about, and that's rare, is Incredi coaster from California screaming to Incredi coaster. Cause California screaming, even though it was a great roller coaster, it's the exact same track. I would at a certain point after years, I skipped it sometimes. Like I was like, oh, that's OK.

00:32:40I, I say this about everybody. I realized I've said this about every Pixar movie. I love Incredibles, I love Cars, I love Monsters. It's true. I can't pick a favorite Pixar. I've I've never been able to pick one. Well, some of their new ones aren't as. Good. Yeah. But I mean, I still can't pick a favorite Pixar out of Toy Story, Monsters, Cars, Up, the original Incredibles. I can't pick like. But anyways, that change I was so excited about, and it then became like one of my top favorite rides. Yeah, but this yeah, I just I'm in.

00:33:18And again, like I said, it's it'll it'll be an amazing land. I'm sure if they come out with a thrill ride, it'll most likely be amazing. If it's a boat ride like Navi River Journey, I'm going to be so upset that they took out monsters for that mainly, again, mainly for parents and young children because what toddler is like oh cool, a Big Blue avatar or like oh look, they're Sully like come on. Yeah. No, no, I get that. I get that from from early when they first announced they, they talked about how this, this ride for Avatar to me like something they've never, never done before, unlike any water ride that they've ever built. So a lot of people are comparing

00:34:09it to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Shanghai, which is the one that goes forwards backwards, up, down, side to side. But it's still not a thrill ride because we've watched, we've watched a ride through on that because I'm like, OK, I'm never going to Shanghai. And it's it's, it was like, oh wow. But it wasn't like a thrill ride. It's. Not really a thrill. But I mean, I guess if it's still a ride, even though kids are not going to be nearly as young, and I say again, I say toddlers, young children are not going to be nearly as excited about an Avatar ride as they will a Monsters Inc ride.

00:34:46If they can still ride it, if there's only going to be one ride, I hope it's a ride that they can ride for sure. Because again, it is hard when you're having to do rider swap all day and there's just not that many rides. There's not that many rides that you know that like you said, no height requirement. And like, yeah, toddlers can ride in cars, land Monster Mater's and Luigi's if they're. You know, 36. Two, 2 1/2, three years old, you're probably good depending on if your kid is really short or so. But like, what about baby? Like in Disneyland, you know, you can take your babies on a lot of the rides, which not again, that's not for their

00:35:36enjoyment. That's for the parents being able to like stay together. Like how nice is it to be able to like, oh, we can all go on this. We don't. I don't need to sit out or we don't need to do. A ride or swap? Go on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. But like, watch. But yeah, you know, and it really makes a difference. Like now when there's a ride that's a little bit like of a bigger ride that Georgia will go on and we're like, Oh my gosh, we can all ride it like it. And the, the, the trip we took it was February 2020, right before everything shut down before Georgia, Boston was just above 40 inches and he was like

00:36:21a get like he, he'll go on. He's our, our adventurous one. He'll go, he'll go on the ride. So even though he was only four, he would go on all the rides and it was such a fun trip because we what Jack, we didn't have to do a rider swap for a lot of some things he did. Like he didn't want to ride like Incredico, you know, stuff like that. But like there were so many like that we could all go on together and it was so fun. And like now we're like getting there with Georgia, although she's not adventurous, so even though she could ride a lot of the rides, she probably won't. That's insane though. I know that's insane that we're there. I.

00:37:07Know, I know. Because I think she's over 40 inches like, and she's, she's tall for her age. She's only four. She's but she's tall for her age. So she might even be like 41 or so. Because Boston was, Oh no, I guess Boston would have been tall. Boston would have been three. He would have been almost 4. Yeah, February 2020, he would have been turning 4 in May, so he was three. But Oh yeah, we took him on. I think she can. She can go on racers now. She can my we have friends that went their daughter is a few months younger than Georgia and she went on she went on racers

00:37:45and she really liked it, but she's more like she she surfs with her dad, you know, so she's like our daughter's not gonna I. I might, I might. She will hate how loud it is. Oh, I know. She will. I would have to put like. Fun though. Oh. My gosh, because we could fill up a car. I know the whole reason we had four kids is so we could fill up a car on racers and the Millennium Falcon ride. Yeah. She might do Millennium Falcon because if we sit like in the back, if her and I are like the engineers, she might be OK with it. We'll, we'll have to see.

00:38:24She tends to say OK and then freak out at the last minute. So we'll see. But anyways, I just, I, I hope they do more than one ride and I hope that one of them is at least no height requirement for families because that's always nice. A cat is can sleep in by my head or not anymore, no? You're supposed to lay on my lap. Why don't the kids? She's a toddler. Understand that they're supposed. They're. Supposed to because our other two cats are not cuddly. And so I'm like, I need another one because our old cat that died was. And yeah, it's like, you said it

00:39:13best, babe. It's like their kid. You don't know how they're going to be. It's like the kids, you know, it's like, what's their personality going to be like? You can't control it. Oh, this is what I wanted to come back to. Jack is waiting for me to approve something on his phone. Hang on. OK, two things. Yes. While I was looking at, I remembered seeing something about schmoozies. They have a lemon # cake shake and I love lemon. Actually, I don't know. I'm I know, I don't know. I you don't. Like lemon?

00:39:40I would not eat that. But I love lemon, but I don't know how I feel about them. And I love milkshakes. I love lemon cake. Do I want a lemon milkshake? I will probably try it. The Mickey mint. Mickey Mint cookie shake that. Sounds more like your. I know I love and a mint chocolate chip shakes like my favorite. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh that's so good. But they have a Disney 70th celebration Tinkerbell straw clip. What? Include it's a It's almost $15. What includes Dasani water at time of purchase. Limit 2 per person per transact. I can't see a.

00:40:21Straw clip. Yeah, it must light up. I can't see a picture of it because they're closed so I can't do a you. Can't do a mobile order. I can't do a mobile order. They also have Mickey shaped confetti waffles. OK, but this isn't what I was going to say earlier and I said I want to come back to this. This I, I, I think I saved it and I know I sent it to you, but I'm not going to take the time to go find it. So I'm sorry, I'm not giving credit to this person. I saw I don't remember if it was a TikTok or a reel genius idea. And I'm so sad I haven't done this for the last 10 years. This is a hack for the Animation Academy.

00:41:01OK, Oh, Oh yeah, I see it, but go ahead. They went to a gift shop and you know, the Disney gift shops, they have journals, I think maybe even in the animation. What? What she she jumped on our vacuum. Oh OK, sorry. Animation building. I think in there they have like journals that like without lined paper. It may just be they have like those journals too that like look like the storybooks. Those might have lined though. But anyways, they bought a journal in at the Disney park. So it's like a Disneyland journal with blank paper inside to use in the animation Academy instead of the paper they give

00:41:47you because then you have all your drawings in this journal. I was like, because I have all of ours folded up and like in a box and I, I was like, Oh my gosh, that's genius. That is really smart. Like, and yeah, it's smaller piece of paper. You don't have like the big piece of paper, but like then you have them all in a book if you are a regular, if you go, I thought that was such a cool hack. And I want to do that next time, even though it'll be like starting from the beginning. And I'm like, oh man, I wish I could put like all my past ones in there. Yeah. Anyways, I thought that was so cool.

00:42:27I wanted to just share that because. Yeah, that is D. And also schmoozies on Hollywood Blvd. or whatever it's called has some really yummy looking things right now. So one more question before we wrap this up. Pins test kitchen French toast, Yeah. The the chicken sandwich is really good. So now you know, a lot of people have been bringing this up, 'cause California Adventure was built on the idea of California being a a homage. Of. Homage of California, you have one of It's a. Special ticket event right now. Sorry, I'm trying to do a mobile order.

00:43:15I don't know, trying to do a mobile order, we're hours away. Well. I'm trying to do a mobile order to see what this straw clip is because I'm like what the heck? Why is a straw clip? $15. To me, I know. I'm trying to. Talk to you, OK? OK. What people are talking about 150 for Guardians right now? Oh my gosh. It's 9:15, but then when I OK, I'm sorry, but when I try to do a special or I try to do a mobile order at Penn's Kitchen because they have a spider man straw clip. So I'm like, OK, what is this? Why is this so expensive? It says you can't do a mobile

00:43:52order during a special ticketed event. So there must be something going on grad night. No, it's too late. It's too late. School's out for a lot of kids. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know what it is, but that must be why Guardians is 150. Makes sense. Yeah, 'cause if it, yeah. Anyways, I'm sorry, California. So California Adventure was originally built 'cause it used to, because right now it's called Disney California Adventure. When it was first opened, it was called Disney's with Apostrophe S California Adventure. OK, I don't really. OK, alright.

00:44:33And so it was built to be like, here's all these things that we're going to celebrate, you know, the, the, the Californian life, what it's like to live in California. You have the beach, you have the mountains, you have Hollywood, all these different things that what makes California what it is. That was what, 2 early 2000s? Yeah. Is now 2025? Only things that that remain that are California are Buena Vista, St. Hollywood and Grizzly Peak. So that's quite a bit though. Well, before it was those. Things, yeah, but the. Entire place. So it's kind of like half. Paradise Paradise Pier.

00:45:26Is now Pixar. Is now Pixar. There's Cars. Paradise Pier was was more like the Santa Cruz, yeah, boardwalk and all that. Now Pixar Pier is more geared towards the East Coast, thinking more of like, you know, the Grand Floridian style. It's not so much West Coast beach, more East Coast beach. I don't pick up on that at all. I just think Pixar. OK, but anyways. Which I yeah. So in Avengers campus Avengers their their campus, which is based off the movies was based in New Jersey. OK. And obviously Avatar is nothing about California. Cars land is based off on Utah.

00:46:22OK yeah, it's not based on on California. So people are like, are they going to change the name of California adventure? Because when you look at what they did in Paris Paris, Disneyland Paris, you had Disneyland Paris, the park, and then that you had Walt Disney Studios, which is like their California adventure. It was all the stuff that didn't fit within Disneyland or second park. They recently changed the name to Disney's or Disney Adventure World. OK. So are they going to change the name of California Adventure because it now it no longer has anything except for a few parts of it no longer has anything to

00:47:21do with California. I wouldn't like that, you know that. And let's tell you guys that I would not be. Some people are saying like it would make sense if they call it Disney Disney Adventure Park instead of California Adventure called Disney's Adventure Park DAP. Yeah. So instead of calling DCA. DAP. Called DAP or DAP. Let's go to DAP. But then you have Disney's California Grand California Hotel. Yeah. Which was all based on the whole California theme, I guess. I mean, you look at look at Disney World, though, the you

00:48:04have the Grand Floridian because it's in Florida. Yeah. So this would be the Grand Californian which is their. Because it's in. It's in California. I guess. But. I don't think that I will I. Wouldn't be surprised because no one saw the Disney the the Paris 1 coming. So I wouldn't be surprised if as they get closer to Avatar, they're like let's change the name because no longer has anything to do with California. So. We'll see. I don't know. Did you make your mobile order yet? No, I can't because there's a

00:48:37ticketed event. Oh, OK. So leave me alone about it, OK? I can't. I'm trying. So what do you think? What do you think about all these changes? Let us know. Send us a message on Instagram. You can find us at dreaming dot of dot Disney dot podcast. We're also on TikTok. You can find us there and we all are so on Facebook, but we haven't posted at all. So, you know, you do what you want with that information. But but yeah, you can also on Spotify, if you listen to us on Spotify, you can leave us a comment there. Let us know what you think about these changes.

00:49:16If you like it. If you don't like it, you do careless. You're like, I don't go like Disneyland. I go to Disney World because it's better then we're going to fight. So go, you know if you want to do that, we could do that. But anyways, we appreciate you guys listening. We will be back in two weeks, right? Sorry. I'm distracted. Again, I know you're a distract. You're not even paying attention anymore. Come here. I mean, we got. Like we got like. I'm trying to think when are we going to be there?

00:49:52Dear, you are at Disneyland. OK, let me think. We are going well, you just said in a month, so let's see next. So we'll have we'll have one more episode and then the because we do it every other week now and then because then that next one we will actually well, no, we won't be there yet. We will be going the next day, but we will not be recording that day. So yeah, so, but then probably back on. So we'll, we'll have one more and then we'll skip instead of just skipping one week, we'll skip two weeks and then. Maybe we'll pre record 1, probably not. No, we will not be. We're pre recording. We're going out of town for a

00:50:42while and I've got a pack for a family of six. We will not be pre recording. OK. But thanks for listening guys. We appreciate you. And until next time, we'll talk to you later. Bye.
