25 Years of California Adventure, Super Bowl Sunday at Disneyland & Our First Character Breakfast
Tim and Audrey are back with the second half of their Disneyland weekend recap! They kick things off with some Disney news — Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue gets a closure reprieve until 2027, and what that might mean for Avatar Land. Then they dive into their California Adventure day, which happened to fall on the park's 25th anniversary AND Super Bowl Sunday (a combo they did not see coming). From commemorative maps and Animation Academy to a surprise Phineas & Ferb connection with the show's co-creator, the family packed a lot in. Plus: they witnessed the Super Bowl MVP cavalcade on Main Street, had a standout meal at Pym's Test Kitchen, and capped the trip with their very first character breakfast at Storytellers Café — and why they're making it a new tradition. As always, four kids, big feelings, and plenty of Disney magic (and chaos) along the way.I

00:00:15Hey guys, it's Tim. And welcome to another episode of The Dreaming of Disney podcast, episode 130. 13-O. I'm with my beautiful wife. You just heard her. Her name is Audrey Anne O2 HO 2H. What's that from? What's that from? I'm. Going to give you a minute. It is related to what we always talk about on this podcast. Disney, Yeah. I I don't, I don't remember what is it. It's a ride. Oh, Jungle Cruise. Jungle Cruise. Inside the water, yes. Backwards water 802AH2O. That's right. So what are we talking about?
00:01:08We didn't finish our. I know we got to pick up where we left off. So we, we just did our first day, which was Disneyland. Usually when people do these, they like record the whole thing and then they just split it up. But we actually waited a week. Well, but we all we've done that in the past. Maybe we've maybe done that in the past when we've done like longer recaps, but we also now record this live on TikTok. And so that would be, and we start, we've got a lot of friends on TikTok that are central and Eastern Time zone. And it would be and we start a little late and it's like I'm tired and I'm waking up early. And so you know what? I definitely.
00:01:52Could. Alright, well, thanks for listening and. All right, that's it. That's all for the podcast. No, but this, well, OK, wait before we jump into it. Yes. Some some news this week, news about about you. You done, you done go. Go for it. With Monsters, Inc. Monsters Inc. Stop Gosh with Monsters Inc closure being postponed. Yes. Until next year, yes, so. So apparently there was a, a like a town hall or like invite of media to like a meeting with the Disneyland president. And he updated the, the press on some of the developments around
00:02:47some of the, the projects going on at Disneyland. And so one of the things that he announced was that because Monsters Inc, Mike Consoli to the rescue, the ride and Disney's California Adventure was set to close this year in 2026 to make way for the eventual construction of Avatar land Pandora in California Adventure. Well, he announced that they are postponing the closure of Mike Consoli's till 2027 through 2027 sometime. So a lot of people are excited that because they really like that ride and it's one of the very few kid focused rides for California Adventure. There aren't a lot of rides that don't have a height requirement in California Adventure, and
00:03:38that's one of the only ones and. I saw a interesting theory about that because because they're. I sent that to you didn't I? What a TikTok about it. I don't know, you send me a lot of Tik Toks. I don't see all of them. You don't watch everything I send you. I watch everything. Sometimes I'm at work and I. Oh, don't even. Don't even. And I see that you sent me something. I was like, oh, I'll look at it later. And then I forget. Not with the work, because you send me random things at work all the time. I know sometimes. You're not working.
00:04:12But then I I forget to look at the ones that you. Sent OK, OK, OK. It's not like that. I'm ignoring it. It's just like, oh, I want to look at that, but I can't because I don't have my earbuds in it, because I don't have an office. I have a. OK, OK. So anyways get. So upset about your cubicle. I hate my cubicle. He used to have an office. I used to have a office, not a cubicle. OK but anyways. So they are announcing a new kid ticket offer for Disneyland this year and you literally get a park hopper or park hopper for free.
00:04:48If. For for kids tickets so that you get a free upgrade to a park hopper ticket for kids. OK, so you get a park hopper for the price of a single park. Yeah, but for kids that depending on the day, that could save you hundreds of dollars. You. It's not like you get one free with a with the purchase of an adult ticket. No, it's obviously if you're getting getting a kids ticket, you're going to get an adult's ticket. I'm going to. Send my kids alone. So they're expecting much more kids this summer because of that ticket offer. And if they take away one of the very few kids rides of
00:05:27California Adventure, where, what are the kids going to do? Yeah. They're going to be running around with their heads chopped off like a chicken. What I was checking to see if you were listening to me so. I'm awesome. So yeah, I know. So yeah. So they they didn't want to close that because of their their having this kids ticket off for it. So they're going to have much more kids in the park. So this gives them something to do. And also they didn't say this, but through the the, you know, thinking and like, I don't know how the word it theories, because if they're if Mike
00:06:15Gonzalez had to be closed to make way for Avatar and they're postponing it to 2027, that then tells us that Avatar land is also being postponed. If there there's even theories, rumors that's being cancelled because there's there's been no confirmation of dates, it's still in early development. Yeah, So what? So we have, you know, some friends here, Grim grinning Dads. They have a podcast. And he said they were talking about it and they were saying how they think it's because that they're waiting until Avengers Campus stuff is finished so that they're not having like. And that makes sense. It's like if they shut down that whole area in Hollywood, there's
00:07:02not a lot going on over there. It's like Mike and Sully's and then like, you know, some restaurants. So it's not a lot, but just if that's closed and then, you know, if they wait until The Avengers campus rides are open, that is going to be really busy. So I don't know. I, I just hope I, I, I, what I sent you was one where he was talking about how he measured the area that the bus depot that they're taking out to build the avatar experience and how, what did he say? How that could fit like Fantasyland and Tomorrowland or something like that. Oh wow. And how that would be where? Security is over on Harbor. Is that what you're talking
00:07:45about? Maybe. Oh, OK, no. No, no, no. It's like the other. You know when you're walking down harbor, there's the the like where buses turn in before you get to the main entrance, like. Kind of. So this isn't where they drop you off. You're not talking about that part, No. Oh. OK, you'll just have to go watch the TikTok I sent you. That's what you got to do. That's what you got to do. But anyways, well, I mean, I don't think I think they're still going to go along with it, but it would be great if they
00:08:14didn't close monsters and just added behind it. Yeah like can we just leave the ride that everyone likes They. Also, the other theory is that they're because they they're going to be starting construction on the new parking garage and the new entrance on Harbor aside soon and so they don't want all this construction happening at the same time. Well, and then Avengers rides, there's construction going on there. They're going to need, because if they close that entrance while they're doing construction, they're going to be having more people. They need, in essence, they need more room than to have more people coming through. So if they don't have this new
00:08:55entrance ready yet, and you're going to be having more people because you have more people for Avengers, you have more people for Avatar, but you have this this bottleneck, then it's going to create a negative experience. So they're they're waiting for some of these things to be done before starting work on that. Yeah. Or at least announcing more. Yep, that makes sense. So that makes sense, but anyways. Any who. Monsters is not closing until 2027. There you have it. So going back to our Disneyland retail, so last last week we ended on our Disneyland Day and I don't even remember what we did because we talked about it
00:09:38last week. And so we'll just start now. We're going into our California Adventure Day. Which was exciting. Which was Super Bowl Sunday. It was well, that wasn't what I was saying. OK, so we talked about how since they didn't, since they took away early entry that first day, we noticed less people. And we were like, oh, like Downtown Disney wasn't as busy in the morning. There wasn't a huge line to get into the park. And we're like, oh, so maybe people are just coming in later and it's, you know, so if we still want a rope drop, it won't be as bad as we thought it was going to be. And then we thought, oh, Super
00:10:22Bowl Sunday might not be so busy 'cause people are watching the Super Bowl. But we underestimated. Well, and actually when we planned this, we did not know that Sunday was also the anniversary of the 25th anniversary of California Adventure. Like opening day of it 'cause they're not doing a whole year thing for it. They did like a week. And so that was the day it opened, February 8th, 22,001. So we're walking up about the same time frame as the day before and the line for California Adventure. So if you've been to Disneyland, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, the entrance to Disneyland and California are in
00:11:08the same it's called the Esplanade. So they are you can stand in the middle and look to the right and left and see the entrance to both parks. The line to get into California Adventure was back more than halfway to Disneyland, and we were like, shoot, man, I underestimated all of these locals wanting to go to the for the anniversary of California Adventure. But you know, it, it really wasn't bad. It was, but it was cool when we got in because we knew we'd heard. Keep talking. No, we'd heard that they were, they had oh, are you going to go get it? OK, commemorative maps from the
00:11:57way the California Adventure was when it opened in 2001. And I really wanted that because I know that they did that for Disneyland for the 70th, but just that day, like just on, you know, the opening day date. And so when we got in, the cast members were all lining the streets and like, you know, some of them had Mickey hands and they're all clapping and waving and cheering for everyone. And it was just, it was really fun. It was really cool. So I and I actually haven't looked at it yet because it was the IT was the regular. When you just open it, it looks like the current map, but on then you have to like completely open it to see like what the original.
00:12:44Matter the. Original. Entrance with the California letters and the Golden Gate Bridge. Sorry podcast friends, you can't see it. Well, if they're watching video podcasts you will see it. If you have TikTok, you can watch. This video and also on Spotify you can watch it. Oh really? Yep. Mm hmm. I don't know that. Hello, I haven't looked at it yet. Oh my gosh. And Mickey and Minnie's. Wait, what is this? That that's a cinnamon and macaron I missed.
00:13:23We didn't. Get it? I. Missed it, I didn't realize it was just for the anniversary. I'm, I mean, I think it's actually. Longer Going tomorrow. Going tomorrow. So. Yeah. So in the Ferris or not the Ferris wheel on the roller coaster, it used to be a big Mickey head and in the Ferris wheel was a big son. And they eventually moved the Mickey head to the Ferris wheel. But you went around while I have a picture. You went around the Mickey head. Let's see. Yeah, so this is just the the original California Adventure
00:14:09map design, what it used to be 25 years ago. I haven't actually looked at it. So OK, I mean my mom is in the way before our friends on TikTok, so you could see like the Mickey head when we lined her up. But that was the the loop is you went around the Mickey head was super fun. I mean, it's still fun. It's the but. So yeah, the Camaro maps and you were, you were stressed out because you're like, we're going to they're we we're not going to get a map. I know because there was such a long line and I was just like I was I. Was looking for our Starbucks at Downtown Disney and and so he texted me.
00:14:49He's like, Nope, we're not getting a map today. That wasn't my tone of voice though, just so you know. Well, because I also. Had your tone of voice I. Know you're making it. You're making me sound rude or mad and I wasn't. I was like, man, you're not going to get it. No. No. No, I did a post, I did a story and I was like, guess we're not getting a map. And I was laughing. I wasn't mad. I really wasn't. OK, look back at our story and I was. I was like, because we're not getting a map today, OK. Oh my.
00:15:16God we got multiple maps. Yeah, we got 10s. They had so many. Yeah, they were. Fast forward to the end of the night, They were still giving away map maps when people were leaving. They're like, we got millions of these. Take one, take 10. Oh my gosh, I remember this drop zone right? Oh yeah. Yeah. Oh, and I remember this big sun here. Yeah, good times, good times. The animation building. So help me if they ever touched the animation building. I don't think so, yeah. It's such a big draw. Oh, it's so good.
00:15:46Everybody. It's so great. So anyway, so that was really cool did. You mention how the. I folded it wrong, I was doing it one handed. Fold the maps, Roll, roll, roll the maps. Hello, Andrew. What is that from you guys roll the maps? Let me know. Oh, Twister, thank you. Twister. Good job. Thanks. So we were going to we were going to my daughter. Our daughter was so excited because she was like wanting to do soaring and we were like awesome. So we knew she was, we, we were
00:16:27pretty sure that she was going to flip out and she did. So we got in there. As soon as we got in line, she was kind of already like, but we were trying. I was trying to see if she would, but Nope, no go 'cause it was soaring over California right now. I have yet to still see it. I you've. Done. I've done it, but not since they've brought it back multiple times. We you've guys last or was it or was it it was at wasn't that Disney World? I didn't go on Soren the last time we were in Disney World. I think it maybe was Soren over California and Disney World. That's what one of our boys
00:17:13said. It was 'cause it was for the flower and garden we. Weren't there for flower and garden, we were there for festival. Festival, we're there for farts, Farts, we're there. For it really should be fota. They had California soaring over California, but it ends. It ends in Epcot. Right where it ends in. For Disney World. For Disney World, Yeah, the the the last scenes in Epcot. Yeah, Disney World. Disneyland. It ends. Inland, Inland, yeah, yeah, so. I have an interesting thing about how they shot for Soren of California. Save it for next week.
00:17:51But I'm save it for next week. So you have to TuneIn to get the deets on the DS23 panel. California Adventure. Well, teaser, but then we talked last week about how we got our daughter to stay with our oldest two boys when we went on Splash Mountain or Tiana's our oldest is 15. You guys were not leaving her with like a 7 year old, OK like. Maybe we weren't, but. Once she did it once, she was OK with it. So then you and I and our nine year old son who loves Guardians of Galaxy Mission Breakout went on that and you know what? I noticed something. So I am usually either in the front or the middle row. For what? Mission breakout.
00:18:41Oh, OK. But we were in the very back row. I had just been on this ride, what, a month and a half before when I went on my solo trip and I actually didn't I go on it. I did. I went on it twice because I went on it. I rope dropped it and then I had the our TikTok battle with Mr. Sprinkles and then he was going on Tower of Terror and he was like, so you're going on. I was like, oh, OK, I'll go on it again. So I've recently ridden it twice. This time we were in the back and I did not get as many butterflies. I think, I think it was, I think it was different.
00:19:19There was something going on with it because it's some of the scenes weren't working. Maybe. I think, I think the the ride was altered because it it was some of it was malfunctioning. So. Maybe I'm curious to test it to test it, but it's amazing as always. It's so fantastic. We got to take so our our only one of our kids had ever done in credit coaster, but our youngest boy wanted to do it last summer. But then like last minute was like, no, I'm not ready. And but he was like he was ready. So we got to take him. We got to take two of our boys on it now. They loved it.
00:20:05But so the the sound plays from your car. On in credit coaster and there was no sound. And if if you've never been on in credit coaster, like there's a story with it. And so when there's no sound, it was just like and we could like hear each other talking like I so it wasn't as fun, but we were saving. So when you now that they don't have early entry, if you stay on property you get 1 lightning lane again. It's so lame. But you get not one day, one ride a lightning lane for one ride for each person in your party. For your whole trip. Right. So you could be going for four
00:20:48days, you get one, but we were deciding to save that for in credit coaster at night because it is so much better at night. And so we were like, OK, well we'll get another chance. And you know, hopefully the sound works because I mean, he still really liked it, but the sound wasn't working. So, but this was cool, you guys. So we went to the animation building and I got in line to meet Elsa with our daughter, who was dressed in her Elsa gear dress. And so we were in line to meet Elsa. You guys got in line. Oh, that's a cute picture, you and her. I don't think I have that. Did you send that to me? Was that on the Rockets?
00:21:38Yeah. So maybe you did send that to me. So you guys got in line to do Animation Academy and I really wanted to do it. I even bought, oh, I put it up there. I even bought a you guys have seen the like the adventure book from up that you can buy. I bought that to be like my to keep all my drawings in from now on. And. But our line was too long and we couldn't get in. But it was cool because it was the artist choice. It didn't say on the schedule who it was. It just said artist choice. And our son was wearing a Phineas and Ferb shirt.
00:22:15And it just so happened that they drew Phineas and Ferb. And then so I don't know, it's like, I don't want to be like. What? OK, Dan Povenmeyer. Dan Povenmeyer. Who is the Co? Creator. Of Phineas and Ferb. Of Phineas and Ferb and also Hamster and Gretel has come into my live on TikTok multiple times and we have then messaged back and forth on TikTok a bit. So after you guys got out, I took a picture of our son wearing his Phineas and Ferb shirt holding his drawing and we sent it to him and he like replied back and he was just like, you know, great job and or something fantastic or something he's.
00:23:11Like. Excellent, excellent. So I told I get to tell our son who loves Phineas and Ferb. I'm like Dan Pobenmeyer, saw your drawing and said it was excellent. But then and then he, he messaged right after that in, in parentheses. He's like, Although the Disney artist is drawing Ferb a little bit too wide. I love the news like well. Then then you need to give them some pointers next time you're you're there because. I'm trying to take the filter from you. I can't get it. I'm sorry. I don't know why it likes you more than me. She.
00:23:43Probably thinks like oh I need it, I need it more, your face needs it more. Your face is already perfect. I need some help. Aw, you're so sweet, cheesy bone. It's a middle name. Cheese balls. What's wrong with you? My bronchitis is coming back. Your 1 is coming. Back my bronchitis I still I still have AI still have a cough from I had bronchitis like a month ago. You know what? You can't complain. Because. New. Sticker. New. Sticker Tim Cheese balls. Tim cheese balls.
00:24:40OK, between Tim? Now. It's going to be cheese balls, I don't think. I don't think TikTok will let me make that sticker OK? Hey guys, it's Tim Cheese Balls. Guys, I'm going to get on the wrong side of TikTok. Now I'm going to get on the wrong side. I don't want to be on that side of TikTok. I want to stay in my Disney lane, OK? Anyways, Phineas and Ferb, that was fun. Fantastic, it was fun. Well, I didn't get to draw it but anyways. Well, you met Elsa with. The girl, yeah, G that's with AZ, yes, I did. Which she got scared and shy and
00:25:34wouldn't talk to her. But so we ate at flows, which we've eaten at flows before and never been. Before we go there, no. Yes. Oh, that's right. We went on. Big news. Did you share this with TJ? Yes, I did. Oh, you did? OK, so we went on Toy Story Romania and I've been trying to up my game on Toy Story Romania. The If you're familiar with the podcast Disney World is Awesome, which is hosted by three Disney dads, one of them being TJ Therian, who is the and. Matt and Landon. Matt and Landon, they TJ is the the guy you know the oldest, middle youngest social videos.
00:26:25You know him. So I was texting him and every time I go on Twitter mania because they they between the three of them, mainly him and his Co host Matt, they have a competition going and I like to insert myself and that because you're not. And so I think their highest is like 250 or something. So I've been trying. So I've been breaking up breaking 200,000 points on Toy Story mania lately. And I think this is my highest scorer ever, 213,570. So you're really proud of yourself? I was really proud of myself. I was like, Oh yeah, I did really good. And then we get to the score screen and then my, our boys are
00:27:07in the other car with you and it said. They were behind. Behind me, the highest in the vehicle was 220. I'm like, wait, who was that? Come to find out, my oldest son beat me. He. Beat you. Like I was always, I'm always winning, but he beat me. Yep. And so now I have competition. He beat you. I know, and I don't even think he was probably trying to beat you. He was just, he was just doing his thing. I know, yeah. So we took a break after that, did we? Yeah.
00:27:47Oh, I haven't seen all your pictures. I still haven't. Oh, am I sleeping in the? No, everybody's going to hear this on my TikTok. What are they talking about? It's just you lying in bed. Oh, I'm so tired. I wasn't really asleep. I was faking it there. But still, I've, I, I quickly fell asleep. Oh, that's right. Because it was Super Bowl Sunday. So we went back to watch the Super Bowl. We only watched half of it. Yeah, for a few hours it was a boring game, guys. Yeah, it's. Kind of boring. So we went back in and we had
00:28:21dinner at Flo's, which in cars land, which we hadn't eaten there in a while. In the past, we've eaten there and it was just kind of like, that's OK. I like the environment. I love the music they're playing, like 50s music. But they didn't recycle that. But they had some new things that we wanted to try. And now, honestly, I can't remember what it was. What was it? Let's see, what did you what? Did I eat? I had. You had a salad. You had a, you had a salad with the, the, the, the with the chicken strips. Yeah. I don't like salad.
00:28:56Why did I want to eat there? Why did I want to eat there? What in the world? Yeah, you wanted. To I wanted to eat there but now I can't remember. I did not have the cheeseburger this guy Aaron. I had a chicken strips although I had the the the cheese. Cheeseburger because you're. Because of my cheese balls. As fuck your head as fuck your head. Just keep. Fucking I had the chicken strips with the teriyaki sauce. It was like the sauce step chicken strips and they were OK. That wasn't a great thing about them. OK, I'm I'm putting in a mobile. Oh, I can't do a mobile order. You had the.
00:29:47But there was something here where I was like. It was probably it was the the. Micro kids Mac and cheese. It was the the the cheese. There was something here that I wanted to try. Maybe I didn't feel like it or something. I don't know. It was a rough dinner because I was going to throw our child against a wall. I got a little firm Rock it out, Rock it out, girl. Guardian of the Galaxy. She she was, she was just something special. And I was sick of it. And I was being firm with her. I was not yelling, I was just being firm. And apparently there was a couple at a table behind us
00:30:37looking. And so you tried to stop me and I said I don't care. I was like, if they spent 5 minutes with her, they'd be talking to her like this too. So yeah. But, well, it really didn't. It was shortly after that we were in line for Maders and she started saying that she was really cold and it wasn't that cold. I was like, she's getting sick and and sure enough, she was starting to feel a little warm. Yeah. So she was, she was fighting something she didn't get like full on sick this trip like it was. She had just been sick. Yeah, she was just sick and she she started feeling a little
00:31:27warm. She said she was shivering and oh wait, was that or was. That, or was that the next day? That actually, I take that back. That was the that was the next day. Spunky Red reaching level 34 in the room. Man, highest in the room. You guys highest in the room? I take that back. That was the next day. That was on Monday because we did, we did a split day Monday, but she was just really tired because we stayed up late the the night before. It's a lot. You guys and she's it's easy to look back at it now and be like, well, she's 4, but in the middle of it, you guys. And we're not we're not.
00:32:15This isn't our first rodeo, right? We've been taking kids to Disneyland for 15 1/2 years and it's still though amazing Rocket how bad they can make you, you know how bad they can make you. And she's just her tude, man. Her tude is just, it's something special. It's something special. But anyways, we didn't do all the color or anything. The kids aren't super into it. We watched it over the summer. They think it's cool, but they didn't really want to do it. And we were like, that's fine. I think we went and did what we did. We did in credit Coaster at night. Yeah, which is so good. It's so good we did.
00:33:02I took her on like Inside Out. You took the boys on Goofy Sky School, you know, just like it was. That's what we were going to do. We were going to do racers that night. Oh. Yeah, then. We did. No, we didn't. We did racers Monday night. Oh, OK. What we? We did monsters. We thought. We thought that California Adventure was closing at 10, but in reality it was closing at 9:00. That's right, it was. Closing early that night and and so I was waiting for you. The boys went on goofy Sky
00:33:38School and then you were taking. I took her on Inside Out. Inside Out. And so I I was waiting by myself because boys were on Goofy Sky School. You were on Inside Out and by the time and I was watching World of Color by Boardwalk Pizza and then I noticed like you can't really. I told you, you said no, they close at 10. And I was like, everything's closing, though. When we were walking up past World of Color, I was like, look, all the shops are closed and. And then I asked a cast member and she was like, yeah, we close at 9:00. Yeah, or we close at 8-9. Yeah, 9.
00:34:19Honestly I was OK with it though we were all pretty tired and we still had one more full day and so. You know, I think. Sure, we got a treat. Yeah, I think we always do. Oh, I got the shake. I got the cake shake. You got the cake shake. So for the 25th at Schmoozies, they had a cake shake for like the 25th anniversary. I was a little, it was good, but I it was expecting more. It was kind of just like a glorified vanilla shake. It was a good vanilla shake. Like it was creamy. It was good. Had a humongous piece of cake in the shake, like at the top of it, just like a yellow cake. It was good again.
00:34:57It was good, but I wanted like cake batter flavour or something. And they didn't really say what flavour it was. It just said cake shake and it was just like vanilla. Yeah, but it was still good. It was still good, but so we still had a full day for the next day. So we were doing park hopper. We were starting in Disneyland. I really wanted to get the silhouettes that you can get on Main Street of the kids. So that was kind of my goal. We also, our daughter really wanted to meet Mickey and Minnie. We only got to meet Mickey in the parks. We met Minnie the next morning, but it was we got oh, so this
00:35:38was the day after Super Bowl, so they were going to have the parade and everything and like they had a ESPNA little ESPN stage and they were like broadcasting. They're doing a 24 hour broadcast. ESPN the handoff of the Super Bowl because Disney and ESPN are are airing the Super Bowl in 2027 for the first time. First time ever for ESPN 1st. It's been like over 20 years for ABC. And so they're doing this big celebration handing off the Super Bowl to Disney for 2027. So they were doing live broadcasts at the end of Main Street all day and then they were going to be live streaming. The first time they've ever broadcast live the the MVP
00:36:27parade for Super Bowl. So glad that they did that whole 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Yeah, it's we'll get into that. We'll get to that. But but yeah, so they had that and then so we were kind of waiting around for Mickey, 'cause he hadn't come out yet. And and so we were there when Mickey came out. And so that was great because we were the first ones, first ones, first ones in line. So. And it was first time our daughter has ever hugged a character. She. Ran up to him and hugged she. Well, no, she didn't run up to him yet. No, she'd like just. She walked, they're going to
00:37:04hear. She was still a little shy, but I had to put down my coffee. And then so I was surprised because she usually clings to me. But then when we were leaving, she she gave him a hug. And then after that she just wanted to like keep hugging characters. She's weird. It was weird. So you wanted to get the the silhouette like the the paper cut? Yes, so and so our our daughter who Hey Logan, I hope you're having a great day too. Was like, I'm not going to do it. And I was like, all you have to do is sit in a chair and look out the window.
00:37:49You can sit on my lap. You can watch Bluey on my phone or whatever you want on my phone. I'm not going to do it. She's like, no. No, I'm not going. To do it, no. So then my, our nine year old is like, I don't want to do that. I don't want to do that. And I was like, honey, it's like seriously, it takes this woman like less than 4 minutes to do it. It's crazy. No, I'm not going to do it. So then the lady there tells me you can also do it from a picture. So I was able to take a picture of my son and his silhouette. Our daughter is like no and won't let me take a picture of
00:38:30her. This is so so. I love her so much. I do. I love her. Opportunity. It's like I need to get her away from Cindy to distract her. Let's I said, do you want to go on the carousel? That's like her favorite, favorite ride. It's the carousel. And web slingers. And web slingers. Little Mermaid. Little Mermaid's too scary, but web Slinger she loves. Yeah, so let's go on the carousel. So we go on the carousel and that's like, hey, I want to get a picture of you in front of the carousel.
00:38:59She's like, OK, And he's like, why, daddy? Because I want you to remember that you love the carousel. It's like, OK. And so I take a picture of her just like, looking at the carousel. I mean, like, standing in front of it, like smiling at the camera. And she like, loves it. I was like, OK, now look at it. And then I had our other son with us, Boston. I was like, OK, now look at Boston so I can see the side of you. And she's like, OK. Big old smile. They all smile and. She's so able to get the profile shot and then I said I was like, yes, like dad when I'm awesome
00:39:35and save the day with my wife and she's so happy and then. Like I'd be mad at you. No, but I was like, I knew this was important for you and I wanted to like get this for you. And and so I was like, all right, let's go ride another ride. And then you text me like, oh, I want her hair on the other side. I'm like. Well, because I also didn't OK, so this girl would also not let me like wash her hair. It was just, it was a rough few days with her. She has curly hair, and so I was trying to, like, just braid it to get it out of her face and make sure that it wasn't just going to be a knotted, crazy mess at the end of the day. And the way it is over her
00:40:12shoulder, it's like this poofy, tangled end of a braid. And I was kind of like, what? Are you doing right now? I'm highlighting the. Oh, the popcorn bucket. And so anyways, but it it worked out they were she was able to do it from the pictures. And so I got all four of my kids and I don't know if I'm going to hang them up here or if I'm going to put them somewhere else, but I was, I was happy to get those. I was like, I just want like this moment in time. Our oldest doesn't have that much longer before he's like an adult technically. And I just. Two more years. Shut your mouth. And so I just wanted to get.
00:40:55It so I after that we went on I can't. Believe you could fit in one of the Casey Junior trains. The Casey. Junior train, which is fun. I haven't been on that in a long time. Yeah, it's. Been a long time since I've been on that. And then we did the Tangled show. Yes, I met you at the Tangled show. I did something with the always, I think. I don't know. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what we did. But so, yeah, if you guys haven't done the oh, we did space mountain. That's when I because I hadn't,
00:41:27I didn't go on space mountain the first day. So I did space mountain. We did single rider and then it worked out because me and my son got to sit by each other on the single rider. So that was cool. But at the Royal Theater, the like little one by the castle, they have Beauty and the Beast and they have tangled. I know we already talk about the Beauty and the Beast one, but they're just, they're so cute and funny. And then afterwards we got to meet Flynn and Rapunzel and our daughter did so good. Like she, she hugged her, she took a picture with her. Like at first she wanted me to hold her, but then she warmed up and they, it was like one of the
00:42:05best character interactions I think we've ever had. Like they 'cause you we were both wearing a. Lot like Rapunzel. She. Yeah, she. Yeah. I mean, she didn't look a whole lot like me anymore, but like, her voice and everything. Like, she was really good. She was really good. She sounded a lot like her. But like our daughter was wearing a tiara. And so like, you know, Flynn was like pretending to try to steal it. And then he showed her like in his satchel, he has Rapunzel's tiara. And so it like they like she, well, 'cause they're just,
00:42:37they're so good at it, right? They deal with kids all day that are shy but want to meet them and like they're just, they're so good at it. So she warmed up a lot. So that was fun. So then we were just going to grab lunch and then get a spot for the and Super Bowl MVP parade. And we thought we had time. It was like 3 hours away or two hours, two hours. And we thought like, OK, we'll go get lunch real quick and then go back and line up maybe an hour, hour and a half before but. It's like. You were be you picked up something up so you were behind me and we were on our way over to Hungry Bear and you text me
00:43:14like people are already lining up. And it was. Like 10 in the morning, it was like 10:30. And then it was lunchtime, so we were getting lunch. No, 'cause I were, I was, I was walking through somewhere. It was around 10/30/10. 53 was when we took the Rapunzel pictures. OK, so it was like 11:30 and people were starting to sit, starting to camp out. I'm like, OK, we should figure out something here pretty soon. Because I didn't think. I don't know why I didn't think people win a lineup because people line up for hours for the fireworks and parades. But I thought that this parade was like a few minutes long.
00:43:57And so I don't know, it was more crowded than I, I thought. And I, I guess because it was, well, I wonder what it would have been like if the Patriots would have won. Because even though Seahawks aren't local, local, it is the same coast. It's West Coast where Patriots. There's probably not as many Patriots fans on the West Coast. I saw a lot of people on social media saying, Oh yeah, I'm going down to Disneyland. I want to go see, you know, the, the Seahawks there. Was two of them for like 2 seconds. I know, but people love their. Sports we ate lunch. You ran back over and I like took the time with the young kids and but we had it.
00:44:39It was packed, but we had a spot like on the curb. But like as so the parade starts down by, you know, small world and we are right by the partner statue. And as it starts and like you can kind of start to see it come down by like Matterhorn. People start like crowding and it's adults now. It's not like, Oh, I want my kids to see the fireworks. It was a different kind of I was like, oh, shoot, is this going to get like aggressive? Like I was worried for a few because the lady in front of me like we were both on the curb, but she sticks her arm out like this, like totally in front of me. I didn't mean I didn't. I was live streaming.
00:45:18So I wanted to get it for our TikTok friends but like I don't care about the Seahawks now. If it would have been the 49ers and someone would have blocked my kids I would have pushed them. No, I want enough. But we would have been way more intense if it would have been the Niners but or the Giants. But it was, it was just crazy how big the build up was and how crowded it was for seriously, you guys, it's like 2 minutes. Yeah, they like, it's, it's technically a cavalcade is what they call it. And it's a couple of dancers, like cheerleader dancers, like going before the the float and then some characters and then the float with the 22 MVPS. It was the quarterback and the
00:46:08running back and Mickey on the float and then that's it. And they it's. Over so quiet. It's over within two minutes, but it was like so many people and we were, we're like, right, we're at the hub. So we were right by the Walt and Mickey statue in front of the castle. And so they walk by. But I was trying before, before this, I was trying to find a spot on Main Street. But because they were broadcasting this live, a lot of the spots were taking up by the the media crew. And so knowing just from years past, when you're trying to find a spot for a parade or a fireworks and there's nobody sitting in a spot, but other
00:46:55other people are sitting in spots around it, you're like, oh, there's a spot. There's there's two reasons why that spot is empty. One of two reasons I mean. It's if it's empty. There's a reason why, and most of the time it's because it's for. Either you can't sit there, or you just can't. Or it's yeah, it's reserved for someone or they're going to block it off. For something. And so there was like a whole bunch of spots and they're like, oh, and there was, you see the cast member standing there and like, oh, this is reserved for the media crew. And so because they had cameras all over the place.
00:47:27And so like, OK, we'll, we'll sit, but we'll be in the hub. But as they go down, go down Main Street, they're, you know, all the confetti was going everywhere. And it was, it was pretty cool. Well, but the other reason that's they might not be sitting there is because you're on the opposite side of the shade, at least in Disneyland. So and so when it's warm, it was not you guys, it was like the, the temperature was like in the 70s, but the sun was hot. And so like I brought the cooling towels because I know this, you guys, I know that the sun is hot. And even if the temperature is in the 70s, if you're in the sun, it's for something about Disneyland sun, it's just
00:48:16hotter. So I brought the cooling towels. So I had to go run across and go to the bathroom and like get them wet because in the sun it was like we were sweating. It was hot. And we're like, it's, there's no way it's 70 something degrees. Like it feels like it's in the 90s. And so yes, 'cause the spot that I found was when I walked, it's like, oh, there's a good spot. People are sitting there. Like we could fit the stroller and we could fit all of us. And like, OK, great. So I got the spot. And then after sitting there for about 10 minutes, I was like, oh, This is why no one's sitting over here and everybody's sitting across the way.
00:48:50Because there's not as many people on that side there, and the other side's all crowded. And because there was no shade over here and the sun's like right in our face and I felt bad. I was like, Austin and Georgia are going to be flipping out. Oh my gosh, our daughter. And like I'm. Live streaming, he's trying to get shots for work was interested in some shots like can you send us some some footage of it? So like he's trying to do that I'm going and she's just like losing it. And I remembered that I had her favorite thing in my bag, an unopened can tin of Altoids. And I remembered, was it for her?
00:49:34Not really. It was supposed to be for me. All of my Altoid tins are really supposed to be for me. You guys, this girl will sit and eat an entire tin of Altoids in one sitting like. Full tin of Altoids. Full tin of Altoids and. Like they're Skittles. Like they're Skittles. So I was like, look what I got. It but that only lasted her for a few minutes and then she started. But it did help. It it did help so I had to hold her and get video at the same time and she's she's not small anymore. Shut up. Again, she gets heavy after a while. So I was like, like this side
00:50:17was like shaking and I'm like this hand is holding the camera and. It was, it was hot. So after that it we got some ice cream at Gibson Girl. We're all gonna get ice cream. We're all gonna get ice cream. We got ice cream and then we went back to the hotel for a break. Everyone was ready for a break. Yeah. Met Bing Bong in the in the. Hotel. In the lobby at Pixar Place. I haven't seen that. I haven't seen any of your pictures. Oh, but when we were walking out, after we got ice cream, when we were walking out. So they, when the cavalcade got to the end of Main Street, then
00:50:49they stopped, did like an interview at the stage that was the ESPN stage. And when we were walking out, they were done. And so they were escorting. I can't remember their names. Sam Darnold, Yeah, that's a quarterback. The quarterback and the the other guy running back, running back I. Forget what the same is. Like out and I was standing right there, so I was able to get some video of them walking by. It was crazy though. Security was like back up, back up, back up. But it's crazy. It's like this is a Super Bowl winning quarterback. Yeah, the guy is small.
00:51:23Like you think it's some of the who's like an athlete like that? Quarterbacks usually aren't as. No, they're not like as fit, I mean. Purdy doesn't look. He looks like a normal guy. It's just, I know I just, it's kind of you, you think of these these athletes and you think that they're look like, you know. Well, yeah. And look, the running back, he's even. He's shorter than the quarterback. He's a he's a shorter guy, but you know, I. Just I always just kept thinking, gosh, they've got to be so tired. Yeah, they've got to be so tired.
00:51:59That's all I could think of. Won the Super Bowl. And then? Exerted themselves the day before, flew overnight down to LA, probably do all these interviews and then, yeah. Yeah, but but that was it was cool. It was cool. To see. Haven't done anything like that before, so that was really neat. But then when so that we were in Disneyland, after we took our break, we went back into California Adventure. That's when we did single rider for cars. So you and the boys went did single rider. I took our daughter on Luigi's Rollican Rollicoat. Whatever it is, you guys, it is
00:52:41underrated. It's fun. It's fun. If you're in Cars Land, do all the rides. There's three. Do all of them like it's fun. Yeah, rolling roller coaster, rollic and roller. Coaster you guys went on Racers. Because then it was my turn to do to do single rider. So then I went on and she was said she was cold in line, but it was a little chilly like because we didn't get our sweaters. It had been warmer. So we didn't have our sweaters. And so we got in line that she was like and it was a little chilly. There was like a breeze coming through.
00:53:13But she was fine on the ride. She loved it. And so then we met up with you. I went and did single rider for cars and that. Then you text me that like she was saying, she was cold and kind of warm. You took her on maters. She's sick. I'm like, OK, yeah, naturally, naturally. But we had only a few hours left and that was it. So we're like, I think it was after that we're like, OK, we're done. Yeah, So we, yeah, we met up, We had dinner. Oh, this was the dinner I had you guys. It sounded good. What? Go, go ahead.
00:53:48Go ahead. So I was in line because when I got in line for erasers, the ride shut down. But they said like stay where you are like this should just be temporary, you know, momentary or whatever. So I decided to stay for a little bit and see. And it it was, it wasn't too long. So we were putting a mobile orders and we were like just whatever, as long as people will eat. We got mobile orders for like a bunch of different places. Three different places. Hang on, we got a question on on the TT. Do you think your cars will be the same in Magic or do you hope it's different?
00:54:26I think it's going to be different. They say it's going to be different because it's supposed to be like off road at Magic Kingdom. Oh, so I think it it's gonna be, it's gonna be a little different. Well, it's a different land, right? It's piston peak. It's not Radiator Springs. Yeah, it's not a, it's a a scene that's in the movies. So it's a new location. So I definitely hope it's different, yeah, because that will still encourage people to come to each to see like, because Radiator Springs, I mean, the land is so great and the ride is fantastic. And I'm sure the one in Magic
00:54:59Kingdom will be as well. And but it'll be different. So it'll be cool because it'll be like, yeah. And I'm, I'm sure it's going to be just as good as because everyone, you hear that a lot from people who have never been to land, like, oh, we'd love to go to, to see cars land. Like that's like the big one that people seem to talk about because it's it really is really great. Like the the way they build, like you feel like you're there. And so I'm sure it'll be, although piston peak, I don't even know what that is. It's not any in the movies. Yeah, but I'm sure, I'm sure it'll be amazing. But so we were doing mobile orders.
00:55:39Everyone wanted something different. We were like whatever. So we, I, we got Pimps Kitchen and they had a spicy pork belly grilled cheese. I'm not a big meat eater, you guys. You, you, you text me because I was doing the mobile order. So like, what do you want? And she says you want the grilled cheese. And the only thing, the only grilled cheese on the menu was this pork belly grilled cheese. I was like the pork grilled cheese. I was like, Are you sure? Because I knew you don't. You don't like pork? I hate pork. Well, you. Do like, I like, like pork.
00:56:10Like I like, like pulled pork, pulled pork sandwiches and stuff. And that's what it was. It was like pulled pork. And I, I mean, because it's, it was similar looking to like the, the Berea grilled cheese in jolly holiday, Jolly holiday. But they had sourdough toasted with green onions, like bake toasted in the bread. Yeah, you guys, it was, it was so good. It was so good. And then the tater tots. They have good tots there. They have really good tots. Yeah, I usually don't like tots. What? I don't because they're usually mushy. These are not mushy, they are crispy.
00:56:54Super crisp. They're so really good. They have like the seasoning on it and and Pyms is the only what are you doing? I can't see Pym's is the only restaurant in Disneyland, California Adventure and Disneyland that has the Coke freestyle machines, Yes. So you can get all the different flavors and everything where that's all over Disney World, like all the resorts have them. You can do all this stuff, but Disneyland is the only place where you can get that. So you can get. So if you want to get soda, get that Pimp's Kitchen Test Kitchen. They have good breakfast there too. They have good.
00:57:36Breakfast the because I like the the chicken sandwich that they have there, like the oversized, like the huge chicken sandwich Patty with the like small bun. I got the Kismill version of that because I wasn't that hungry. I was so, yeah. You were like, do you want to share the pasta we had last time? But I saw the grilled cheese. I was like, I want that. And I knew you probably wouldn't like it because you don't like grilled cheese, but. Yeah, so I got a kids bill. But anyways, it was really good, you guys, it was really good. And the boys got award wieners. They did. And and then Georgia won in Mac and cheese for so the only place
00:58:11who was selling Mac and cheese was flows. So I did 3 mobile orders for three different places. So that means I have to pick them up and time it all at three different. Places which I was going to pick one up for you and I got stuck in the Lunar New Year parade crowd. And and so I was like, never again. But I'll probably do it. Again. And then, well, because then she. And then she fell asleep, and so she didn't eat her Mac and cheese. And then when she woke up, it was too, it was like, OK, we got, we waited a while, but it was like, we got to throw this
00:58:44out. Like we it's been sitting up in the. Room or no, she woke up. No, I can't even remember. And and so. I think we were on our way back. I think we were on our way back. I. Threw it out and she woke up. She said well about my Mac and cheese. I was like, girl, it's gone. She was so bad. She was mad. Yeah, I. Did have some fries. I think she has some fries. Yeah. Oh, no. We were in the we were in the gift shop because this was our last night. We were leaving and we weren't
00:59:10going into the park the next day. We were just doing breakfast. This is where I saw Megan, the magical millennial. That's right. I saw her. I did not meet her because I was too shy. She was also talking to somebody. She was like. In the middle of a conversation with someone and I was like, I'm not going to. But so then we were worried, right? So she seems to have a fever. That's right. So the next morning we had breakfast, character breakfast at reservation, at Storytellers Cafe at the Grand California. First time, first time we've
00:59:44ever done a character breakfast in Disneyland. We've done them in Disney World. First time we ever done at Disneyland. And we were doing this and then leaving. We were not going into the park. This was our new thing we were going to do to help me with my Disney Blues leaving the park. But we're like, great. And you were like, I think we need to cancel. And then I was like, I was like, I need Mickey waffles though. Like, OK, if we have to cancel it, whatever. But I want like. Then we need to get some Mickey waffles somewhere like. Here's the thing about Mickey waffles in Disneyland. They're so much better.
01:00:15Well, that that they're not sold anywhere. Yeah, they're harder to find. At Disneyland you have to. You can only get them at a sit down restaurant. Well, they don't have. I thought we got them once at the OR at the Disneyland quick service. The terror. Terror. Yes they they they had them there, but they did not have them on the menu when I checked. And so the only place you can get Disney waffles at. Mickey Waffles. Mickey Waffles, Disney waffles Mickey waffles is at sit down restaurants at Disneyland and so Storytellers is a buffet. Yeah, but the but the next morning she was totally fine,
01:00:58Totally fine, 'cause you have two hours before. And so we're I was like, let's just set an alarm and check. Yeah, and if she has a fever, we won't go with it. And she was totally fine. Well, she was overtired, I think What it. Was, I think she, Yeah, our oldest will do that too. He will. When he's overtired, he'll get a fever and then he sleeps and he's fine. And so she was fine. So we were like, OK, so good, so good. They had so many thing like they had obviously cereal, bagels, waffles, omelette, bar, banana Foster's French toast. They had little Donuts, they had cupcakes they had.
01:01:41Chicken and waffles. Chicken and waffles with waffles. They had Tri tip. You could get Tri tip. They had pork like a big old like whipped butter and a big old thing of cream cheese and a lot of fruits and and what else did I eat? Bacon sauce. It like so good if you like breakfast food. Well, I was nervous because our last character breakfast experience was at Disney World at the. Cape May. Cape May, which is in the Yacht Club, Beach Club Resort. And so that was our first time doing character breakfast and it was one of the last days of our trip.
01:02:25And the kids, you were getting over being sick. Some of the kids were be getting over being sick. Yeah, we got sick. I was like, I ate so much. I was like, I'm so stuffed, like I'm bloated and like I'm not. And plus, I'm not a breakfast person. I'm never hungry in the morning. So I. Love. Breakfast and I was like, I'm not, I don't have an appetite this morning and so none of us you were the only. One I was the only one and I was getting over. Thank good you guys. I hate having a cold so much and the main reason is that I can't taste food if my nose is stuffy and I can't taste food.
01:03:00Same thing with the sea dog man I was that made me so mad but I can't taste that. It's like, what's the point of eating? And it makes me furious. So I was very worried about Cape May. Thankfully I could taste and I was like, I'm eating, I'm eating everything. I. Didn't eat much. The kids didn't even touch their food. I Even if I'm not hungry in the morning, breakfast foods are my favorite. I could eat breakfast foods for every meal of the day. I love breakfast for dinner. I love waffles, I love pancakes, I love French toast, I love eggs.
01:03:34I love breakfast bacon and the syrup and the I love it. Yeah, and even Cape May had like this this bread, this like cinnamon loaf bread with like this vanilla. Lies vanilla drizzle on Oh my gosh, no one would eat it. And I was like, you guys, I can't eat this whole thing. I want to but I can't. They didn't have anything like that. Storyteller The the they had a bread pudding that tasted very similar. Oh really? They had a bread pudding that you put a vanilla drizzle on? I had some. It was. But we were all hungry. We were all hung. Well, our daughter didn't eat
01:04:06much, but that's par for the course. Even though I gave her a bunch of doughnuts and cupcakes, all on her plate were doughnuts and cupcakes, and she still didn't want to eat. Come to find out when we got home, no, it was a couple days after we got home, she just had this cold where she keeps getting a relapse, then she's fine, then she gets a relapse. But anyways, you get to meet the carrot. You get to meet Mickey, Minnie and Chip and Dale. And so, you know, they come around to all the tables. And she just loved it. And now that she has warmed up to characters, she was hugging them and taking pictures with them.
01:04:39And they were like, you know, Chip and Dale were like teasing our boys. And it's just fun. Like character breakfast. I do think like if you can do it, if it can be your splurge like. Yeah, if you're doing 1 splurge and you're a family. With young kids. Splurge one. Sit down, do the character breakfast. Do the character breakfast. I'm I would like to do one with her, with princesses. We've never done a Princess one. They have a Princess breakfast I believe. At Storytellers. Not storytellers. It's a different. It's a different part of Grand
01:05:14California. Because they have the in Disney World, the Cinderella's Royal table, which I've heard is not that great. They I've heard a lot of people, I've heard some people love it. And then I've heard a lot of people say it is way overpriced for what you get. But you know, in another year or so when she's a little old, like I would, I would like to do a Princess one with her. Right now. She's still like she loves Minnie. She's getting more into the princesses, but she still loves Minnie. So she was so excited to to see Minnie. We have never done Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel.
01:05:53We've only done this was our first time doing a character breakfast at the Disneyland Resort. I have heard that storytellers is better as far as the food goes, but I don't know. You'll have to try it next time. Maybe we'll try it next time, because I do feel like even if we don't do a carrot. Really. Yeah. But is Goofy's Kitchen a buffet? Yeah, they're both buffet. So even if we don't do a carrot, because it was. It's expensive, it's a pretty penny, so be. Prepared expensive. It is expensive. It's like $50 per adult and then 35 per kid and the kids is like 3 to 9 and then anything over I
01:06:38think 12 or anything over an anything over 9 is an adult and. We have two that are over 9 and soon we will have 3 / 9. So that's the last character breakfast we're ever doing. Really expensive. But even if we don't do a character breakfast, I feel like this is a good thing to do from now on is not go to the park the last day and just get me some Mickey waffles and then head home because it was nice getting home earlier too. Yeah, it's because before we would do 1/2 day in the park and then then leave after that. But it was always hard to leave on time because then you're fighting traffic and. Everything just takes longer, right? So it's like, OK, well, we'll
01:07:20eat lunch and then it's like, OK, everyone needs to go to the bathroom and then it's it, it just, it would always. Go back through a hotel, we got to pick up our luggage. We got to. Go to the bathroom again and it's like, so we would get a much later start and that's more than just leaving. That's what would always put me like in a bad mood because I would just get stressed out about like. Because kids are fighting and they're. Just well, and I think what it goes back to is when we would do it when we had infants or little babies, because it would be like we're going to hit traffic and our, our two, no, actually only our oldest was the one who did
01:07:57good in cars, car rides. The other 3 when they were babies would cry and cry and cry and cry. They hated being in the car. And so we'd always try to plan it at nap time, like though, let's leave when it's their nap so that they will sleep. And then when we take a little break after a few hours can feed them and then hopefully they'll be OK. And that would stress me out because I'd be like, oh, shoot, they're falling asleep in the stroller. No, keep them awake. Oh, we're going to be too late for the nap. And then I'm going to have to nurse them. And then. And so I think it like goes back
01:08:26to that even though they are we're all well out of that phase, it's like. Yeah, not nursing anybody now. No, but still it's just like it all. And then I'm like, wait, it's OK, calm down, we can just sleep. But. It was a lot less stressful. It was a lot less stressful. Because we just, we packed up everything in the morning and we got the car loaded up and then we went down for breakfast, took our time, we weren't rushed and we were done by like ready to go by like 10/10/30. Yeah. And then easy, we didn't get home late. It was, it was way. Yes, you're paying for an extra
01:09:04night at the hotel. Right. Because Norm, yeah, we would do like 2 1/2 days. So we would do like 2 full days in each park and then maybe 1/2 day and then leave. And we did 3 full days, which we can't do all the time. Like if you do a small trip in the summer, we won't, we won't do that. Like we would do like a day and a half again, but, but I didn't really have the Disney Blues. But I think part of that is because we had a busy, we had a lot of things going on once we got home. And so we were coming home to a bunch of things that we were doing. And so that kind of helped with that.
01:09:42But I think I, I think this is a good way to go about if we can do it again, Not the character breakfast every time, but just getting something for breakfast. Oh man, I'm looking. At this picture, the Mickey waffle my. Plate the Mickey waffles with hash Browns and bacon and then country potatoes and eggs. So good. Oh man, it was so good. Look how happy she is. Big old smile with her crazy hair. Oh my gosh. And her tiara? Where is her tiara? You spend a pretty penny on that tiara. It's in her room. Oh, OK. It's in her room.
01:10:16Oh, there. That that's that was it. The bread pudding. That was the bread pudding with the vanilla right there. Vanilla sauce. Yeah, yeah, we wore our tiaras. Yeah, but maybe. They would do dance parties. Yes, they would. Right before they went to take a break, all the characters would go around and do a dance party. So yeah, it was it was good. If you you know, do we have a favorite non character breakfast? Have we done? We don't do breakfast a lot in the park We used. To do, we used to do Mimi's Cafe. Well, but that's not even in the park.
01:10:53That's not a character. That's what we would do. We would go to Mimi's Cafe across the street and then leave. But like in the park for breakfast, we usually what we would 'cause we do like grocery order, so we'll get stuff for our kids just to my mic just to eat in the park or just to eat in the room while we're getting ready. So we're not we usually don't spend money on breakfast in the park. Even though I love breakfast, I really want to try WE. Get like Starbucks, do a mobile order of Starbucks. That's what we do. Up in Downtown Disney. But I will say we have done when it's just us.
01:11:28Oh hello, Landlight Lounge. Hello. When it's just us with the kids we don't, but with us we've done Lamplight Lounge. Lounge is really good and then also PIM's if you want something that's just quick service. PIM's Kitchen has a good French toast. I want to try. What's the place in New Orleans Square that does breakfast by? Liberty Bell is Liberty Bell. Is that what it's called? I don't know but I want to try there. I think Plaza Inn too has a good. Breakfast that I've heard Plaza Inn is a character breakfast. Oh, that's a character breakfast. But.
01:12:08Oh my gosh, it's almost 10:00. I gotta go to bed. Think you have breakfast? I. Still eat ice cream? Oh, we didn't try the waffle on the stick thing at Galaxy's Edge. Oh, yeah, we wanted that too. See, there's just, you know, stuff. We just have to go back at the end of March. Yeah, we'll have to do it again. We just need to go back. OK, I'm cool with that. That's what I'm shooting for, trying. To think, what was the other breakfast? Oh but yeah, brunch at Lamplight Lounge if you're a bruncher. Which I mean, it's just, it's breakfast food.
01:12:42It's breakfast. It's like there's a French toast that I get. There I like the the the. What's it called? Champagne and orange juice mimosas. Oh yes. Mimosas the drinks. You you like that Cinnamon Toast Crunch? Yes, they have a a cinnamon toast river bell. River Bell River Bell Terrace. That's the other breakfast spot in New Orleans Square I. Think so, right? Yeah. 'Cause we got breakfast there one time. No, this just says lunch and dinner. Oh, they must not do breakfast anymore.
01:13:20They used to. That was like 10 years ago, no? More than that, I know what trip you're talking about, and it was more than that. But yeah, Lamplight lounge, really good breakfast, really good brunch. We did that when we went just us the last time. So if you want more of like a nicer breakfast, nicer brunch, not just like waffles and eggs, but you know, like good like hearty stuff, Lamplight Lounge is really good. Yeah, it's true. Disney World's sixty days away from my next trip and cannot wait. Where do you guys like to stay at Disney? World so depending on. There's so many different
01:14:07options. Oh my gosh. So just putting it, you know, just disclaimer, we are Disneylanders, so we go to Disneyland a lot more. We've been to Disney World three times. We do love it, but we haven't stayed there as much. But depending on who is in your party, like with kids Logan, we would love to stay at the Riviera. That is our bucket list 1. So just a heads up, battery's about to die on my phone. So we got to wrap this up. We got 5%. OK, so we went on an anniversary trip. We stayed at Grand Floridian for a few days. Amazing, amazing.
01:14:47We have stayed at Beach Club. We loved it. We loved the how close it was to Epcot right on the sky liner. We stopped at top century. We stayed at Pop Century, so that is a great value. 1 Like if you're going to be in the park all the time, like most of the time and you don't care, Pop Century, you're on the sky liner. It's a long sky liner ride because you're at the very end of the sky liner. If you have kids, Coronado is your favorite. I've never stayed there. If you have kids, I think Art of Animation is fantastic. The theming is super fun. They have family suites where so you can have your own bedroom. There's two full bathrooms.
01:15:24You were on the sky liner again. If you have a stroller, you don't have to collapse it. It's amazing. Easy access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Where else did we stay? We see it at All Star Sports. All Star Sports, not on the sky liner or anything, but we it because we got such a good price and we have 4 kids, we were able to get 2 rooms, connecting rooms, yeah for a really good price. It's very similar to Pop Century. The the style of rooms. You know, it's a value, you're kind of far away from everything, but the price is really good. The price is really good if you're not going to be spending
01:15:59much time. The quick service was good, like, and if you're not spending much time in the room, like, you know, we did stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, which was amazing. But if you were going to stay there, I would not recommend the whole trip just because it is so far from the other parks. Like the, and it was really busy and the, and not all of things were running. I think it was not long after the pandemic. And so like the bus, it took us like over 30 minutes to get to Magic Kingdom on the bus. And like, there were just lots of stop. Yeah, but it was amazing. There we go. Yeah, yeah.
01:16:39Not the whole trip, Yeah, like it was. It was our first trip, our first time ever to Disney World. So we didn't really know that people did split stays and would stay at a different resort because that's not really a thing in Disneyland. And we got upgraded to a Savannah view room and we like oh like Oh my gosh, giraffes and like wildebeests outside of our door and zebra or or window and balcony balcony. It was. It was it was incredible. It was just like it would have been better for a few days and then like switched to something else with the with the kids. But it was amazing. So that was a quick rundown. Anyways, that was our trip to
01:17:15Disneyland. Really great trip. It was great. Parts of it were fantastic. Parts of it were fantastic. Other parts where we wanted to pull our hair out, yeah, but. Typical trip with your children. But next week we're going to be talking about the D-23 spotlight panel all about the 25th anniversary of the of California adventure. I was fortunate to go to that got lots of notes, a lot of cool tidbits about how they built the park and they're the inside of the, the minds of the imagineers, what they were going through and what they were thinking about and how they reimagined it. So that was really cool. So that will be next week.
