Our Top 5 Disney Foods (And the Ones We Still Need to Try)

00:01:51So I don't think we've said this yet on the podcast, but we are going to Disneyland and we will be there during the Super Bowl. And that it was something we asked our boys, we said are you OK with that? Because we've done it before, but it was before they were into football. And now especially our oldest is obsessed. And so we were like, are you guys OK with that? And they were like, you were like, we'll watch the Super Bowl, just we'll watch it in the hotel. And they were like, yeah, yeah, that's fine. And then we said, well, since the Super Bowl is in San Francisco, most likely the next day, the they will have the

00:02:31parade. The MVP, the. MVP parade, the Super Bowl parade in Disneyland and we will be there. Now the Niners are doing pretty good if they go and if they win, they are going to cry. Like, yeah, I can't even it's. Going to be a busy day that day I think if the Niners. Win good night. It's going to be insane. It's going to be insane. If the Rams win, it's going to be insane. Are they doing well? The. Rams are they're in the hunt, so they, they, they're going to be in the playoffs, but the 49ers have a better record than they do so. It'll be crazy.

00:05:37There you go, there it is. So this week we're talking top five foods. And both of Disneyland and Disney World combined. Oh we are OK. I don't have much experience in Disney. World. I know, I know, I know, I know there's. There's things that people rave about that we've never had. Well, we do have things that are on our list to try. Like next time we go, we absolutely have to try the cheeseburger spring rolls. That's what I was thinking, yeah. The cheeseburger and the pizza, Spring Roll says. I hear like. I hear more about the

00:06:13cheeseburger, yeah, but we'll get both, obviously and. Cheeseburger has Pickles in it. I love. Pickles. And I don't like Pickles. I well. Maybe. Maybe. I'll do the pizza. We'll do the pizza, I'll do that well and next time we well, I don't know if the next time we go we'll have our kids. But anyways, also our friend on TikTok, Kid Fun Florida keeps telling me about a Creme Brulee croissant from Gaston's Tavern, which we've always gotten the cinnamon roll which is really good but so I have to try that next time too. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

00:06:52I do want to see if the spicy chicken. Sorry I got a text message. Well, what we'll need to do is now that we have a lot more connections with Disney World friends on TikTok, be like, OK guys, tell us all the food because we get there and we're just like. One of the things that. We really wanted to trouble at the guest on cinnamon roll which we have had, and the spicy chicken waffle sandwich which I really, really liked when you and I went. Then when we went in Jan this last January, they changed it and it wasn't as good. I hear they changed it. Back. But yeah, you told me they changed it back, so I hope they

00:07:34did because I really liked it. The Nutella waffle is really good. I do as well. Mr. Sprinkles. I do as well. I love Pickles. I didn't see who commented, I was just reading comments as they were flying by, but someone said if if we include Walt Disney World in the top five, Walt Disney World's not making the top five because everyone knows that Disneyland in California Adventure have the better food when it comes to foods. So that's what I hear. And I, you know, I've never said like, oh, I agree with that because I haven't eaten enough at Disney World to to say that I don't feel like.

00:08:13I will say that. The grilled cheese at. I hear great things about yak and Yeti, which is yes. People always tell me about yak and Yeti we. Haven't Yeti at animal Kingdom. I hear it's a yak and Yeti that has a churros apparently have the best churros. I don't. Think it's yak and Yeti. I think it's somewhere else. In animal Kingdom? Somewhere in Animal Kingdom, Correct me if I'm wrong, but we were in. It Epcot. They apparently have the best churros and they come with different dips because they make them fresh there. Aaron says California has more laws on how food is prepared.

00:08:51Interesting. Interesting. So you're saying I'm gonna get food poisoning if I go to Dizzy, right? I will say the food at Roundup Rodeo was excellent. Excellent. And the macaroni and cheese and the biscuits, my goodness. And Kate May's breakfast was really good. We got dining reservations for Storytellers Cafe. We're doing a character breakfast. I am so excited because we've never done a character breakfast at Disneyland. We've only been Disney World. Although I really want to do a Princess one eventually. With Georgia, we told maybe she's a little older and not so

00:09:35shy because right now it's like she's still so shy and doesn't want like she wants to meet them. She was, she did warmed up when we were at Cape May, but I still had to hold her. Like for sure for every character, but. Yeah, I hear amazing things about Storytellers Cafe. And breakfast is my favorite type of food, so I'm very excited. OK, so the things I wrote down last time, most of them are from Disneyland Resort Churro. Now this isn't like meals, it's just like because I also have the black half cold brew which we could take out if we want to just stick to food or if we want to stick to do food and drink. Let's just stick the food.

Bangle BBQ. We have not tried that yet but I have heard it was cold. Oh yeah. That's not cool.

00:12:12Yeah, the. Garlic pretzel bread needs to be warm like I have heard you get 'cause when I got it, it was warm. And then get some skewers at Bengal Barbecue and put them inside. Well, now they have one where it has a like a sausage. It comes with a sausage in it. Oh, really? Yeah. So you can get one. Jack would love that. Yeah, yeah. So haven't tried that one yet. OK, so this is at Roundup. Oh, and the biscuits at Roundup Rodeo. Oh Mickey waffles anywhere. Oh. Cha. Cha.

00:12:44Cha cha man. OK. So now we have to rate them. I guess so. Well, you're #1 is. Easy. Well, we're not. We're not going to #1 yet. We got to wait for the for the epic climax of the number one. We've never eaten there. Yeah, people always talk about the the the fried chicken.

That's like. You don't have you don't. You don't have a large variety of thing like you. My my taste buds are that of a five year. Old are limited, yes. Pretty much. Pretty much like you don't like a large variety of foods, no? You like pretty picky and it just but it's just I'm not of interest when it comes to food and and and I play it safe and I've had food poisoning enough times to where I'm like. OK, my #4 I think is going to be what was my Oh my grill. The grilled cheese was my. Disney cowgirl chicken Nuggets, some Mac and cheese. Actually, I can't have Mac and cheese. 00:17:51chicken strips, 100 percent, 100% can't go wrong with that. Safe bet. Churro. Excuse me? I love churros, but you know, if it's between that and a cinnamon roll, I'm going to get a cinnamon roll. You know this about me. You have no idea how disappointed I am in you right now. Is it really rude to me? Say to me you know that if. It's no, I don't. I'm going. To pick a cinnamon roll, I don't. It's not my favorite dessert. I love churros, but it's not like it's like your go to before we leave the park you have to get a churro.

00:18:30I need to get usually a cake pop or fudge or ice cream or all of those. Things I know. I might get all three. You you will get all three. And then I eat them later. Yeah, I know you do. Save that you you spread it out. I. Always eat something on the drive home, usually my cake pop and then if I have something else I'll have it like the next night to be like I still have a fudge from Disneyland. 00:19:21pretzel bread, Mickey waffles. I'm not a breakfast guy. It's. Not you guys, he's not. I I just you just, I normally don't eat breakfast. I know that's not good for you. It's not healthy. The, you know, start the day just on like coffee, but I just, I don't have appetite when I wake up in the morning. And so breakfast food just kind of like so but make you waffles are really good though. So we're on #3. That's your #3. Or yeah, I'm gonna go and make you waffles, OK. They're they're they're good. They're they have like a nice sweetness to it, but not being like overpowering sweet. Yeah.

00:20:09So what did I say at my number? Four. I don't even know. What did I say to? The Bria Tacos. So so far, 2/2 of my five are very sweet things. That's true. Which I'm not a sweet person. That's true. That's true. Type of like, I don't like sweet eats as much. I'm much more of a savory type of guy, but but yeah. OK as. Far as when it goes to Disney Foods. OK, so I have grilled cheese, then a churro, then I'm going to say probably the Buria tacos. Tacos. Yeah, and I'm only writing it down so that I can keep track of

00:21:05what I said because I'll forget. What's my favorite dessert, though, It's like yours is churros. You know, It's like, you want churros? I always want treats. I always get a lot of treats, but I don't have a like, like people are like Dole Whip, churro or whatever. And I'm like. It's the Mac Macaron, Macaron Macaron Raspberry. I can't. I eat. That I know you can't have it, but you used to have it a lot. I used to love it but it just raspberries. I'm I'm not allergic to raspberries, but my stomach acts like I am. I don't know.

The cookies and cream ice cream from Clarabelle. That's not on our list, but yeah, that is your favorite. It's it's one of my top. It's between, yeah, one of my top go TOS when I want something sweet, getting the cookies and cream ice cream. It's one of the best. I know. It's like it's dryers. It's dryers ice. Cream. No, it tastes better. But it just tastes better Specifically.

00:22:19Specifically from Clarabelle's Ice Cream in California Adventure. Clarabelle's than it is. At Gibson Girls, it's the exact same. It's the exact same thing, but it tastes better. It tastes so good at Clarabells. Clarabells, for those of our friends that are Disney Worlders, is a ice cream shop in California Adventure. Right next to the Starbucks. Or it's in the same building as a Starbucks. Yeah, but yeah. OK, my #2 it's probably going to be the guest on Cinnamon Roll. Yeah, yeah, that's good. You are you. You have a soft spot for cinnamon rolls. I love cinnamon rolls.

00:22:57I know you do, and you make some really good ones too. I have never made cinnamon rolls, babe. Well, from scratch. I've never made cinnamon rolls from scratch. No, I know. 00:24:54From from Galactic Grill From Galactic Grill. Tomorrowland so my go to number one spot stage. Door Cafe or whatever it's called. Kona Cafe, Kona Cafe, Kona Cafe. That's what it is. No, but seriously, chicken strips and and fries at Disneyland and Disney World. You can't go wrong with that. It's, it's, it's good comfort food for me. I know and one if you're looking to save some money, it's usually one of the cheaper options. You can get a kids meal and it's it's cheaper and it's it's predictable. It's like you can't go wrong with a good, you know, good selection of chicken strips. No, chicken strips is not my

00:25:48number one. No, my number one is the one and only Disneyland. And I have to preface this Disneyland. Not Disney World, Disneyland Churro. There's nothing better than Disneyland Churro. It's very good. Very good. I'm kind of surprised at mine, but I think my number one is Mickey Waffle. Yeah, because I, you know. You love breakfast food? I love breakfast food. I would eat breakfast food every meal of the day whenever you are out of town. You make breakfast for dinner. I make breakfast for dinner because me and the kids love breakfast for dinner.

00:26:25You're not. Because when I'm here, I put my foot down like, no, get back in the kitchen to make something else. I don't talk to my wife like that. I don't talk to her like that. No, you don't. No, I just feel bad because I know you'll eat it. I just, I just don't like making it. I do sometimes, but I know it's like not your favorite and so you don't, you know, but the kids and I all like breakfast for dinner, so I'll make it when you're gone. I just realized though I don't have a Mac and cheese on my list which is odd, but the two Mac and cheese that I've had that are really good are at Disney World and like songs. I know it's not Phil Collins, but like, I don't know if that really good Mac and cheese would beat out the grilled cheese at jolly holiday for me because I love like especially when it's cold getting like a grilled cheese with the tomato soup at jolly holiday for dinner. 00:27:45and cheese that I had at Roundup Rodeo and the American Pavilion. What is it called again? Regal Eagle. Regal Eagle. They were really good. I had what? What did I have there last? It was like a a brisket sandwich, like a BBQ brisket thing. It was really good. Tore me up. But it was really good. That's right, tore me up. Other than we just talking about Tim's. Digestion issues. TMI but you know this is what you're going to get. Yes, Sierra Mac and cheese at Regal Eagle. So good it had like a bread crumb on top.

00:28:25It happens, you know, It's just. Maybe when all you eat is chicken Nuggets, it happens. Anyways, that's our top five the. Most boring podcast. Yeah, but you know, if you're talking drinks, black half is is just top number Disneyland black half. Black half Yes Giselle. Hello friend, sending 500 comments. Top five cocktails. I don't even know if I've had five different cocktails in the parks. I could do cold brews. Yeah. What did I? What did I the drink that I had at Oh guys, I forgot was you had the fuzzy Taunton. 00:29:21It was good. It did make my lip numb though. It was weird. I was like what is in this and why is it doing that? I like anything with whiskey in it. I think mine had a whiskey in it and it was like, it's like binary sunset. Was it something like, I can't remember, I forget what it was, but it was really good. I enjoyed it. Yeah, I haven't. I just know that there was one. It was a secret menu item in Epcot. Oh yeah. That we heard that I should try and you had to like, say a secret word to the guy. Secret phrase, yeah. Nasty, nasty.

00:30:01Oh my goodness. Like. It looked really pretty. Tasted like rubber, like plastic. It looked really pretty. I have a post about it, I'll share it to our stories. But like, it was so gross. It was so gross and I was so irritated because, you know, they're expensive. It was expensive. And I was just like, this is. So I was trying to drink it because because it was expensive but it wasn't good but cold brews. OK so we got black calf in Disneyland. If you did not know the black calf in Disneyland is made differently than the one in Disney World, do not ask us why.

00:30:35Why would they do? This they use a different coffee, they use different coffee. That's that's what it is. OK, but someone said I can't remember who it was. They don't use Joffrey's Coffee in Disneyland. Well, but it's someone said it almost tasted like they used buttermilk instead of cream cheese for the top for. Like the topping? Topping because. It was like. In Disney World because it's much more like sour than sweet. So anyways, if you've gone to Disney World and you're like the black calf cold brew was nasty and then you're in Disneyland and you're like, yeah, I'm not getting that.

00:31:12Try it because it's different and it's good. I really liked the Beignet cold brew from Tiana's. That was good. It was really sweet though too. Sweet for you, but I I thought it was really good and then I the Asgardian the. Asgardian. Caramel apple cold brew. Yeah, that was gross. It was gross. Tim doesn't like. Sour. Apple, but the actual cold brew is a caramel cold brew and it's really good. Yeah, the the coffee tastes good. It tastes it. Tastes exactly like the caramel apple Lollipop. Like it tastes exactly like

00:31:49that. But there was one that was just for the holidays and I just saw Mamacita Dreams on TikTok posted about it. I was like man, I should have got it when I was there. It was like a cookie like. A sugar cookie. Something something. Like that I think from Troubadour's Tavern. OK. There was another one at PIM's Kitchen we tried once. It was like a Oreo or something that was really good. Yeah, they have a Oreo. Oreo, what you call it, cold brew. That was good. The Oreo. I think it's an Oreo milkshake from Schmoozies California

00:32:30Adventure. Oh, Schmoozies has good. Schmoozies has some good shakes in there. That was really good. It was like, you know, big Oreo ice cream and then Oreo Mickey ears with the whipped cream and everything. It was good. Yeah, milkshakes are some of hello milkshakes. Well, milkshakes are. That's a that's different. What's? What's my what's the like number if they had it in Disneyland, not just California? What do I always get in California? You get the Ghirardelli milkshake I. Get a Ghirardelli milkshake because I love a milkshake.

00:33:02So that's actually probably my number. I love a milkshake and I always want one in Disneyland, but I don't I want, you know, they don't do them at the at Gibson Girl. They don't make milkshakes. They have all the ice cream, but they don't do milkshakes. And I'm like, so now I have to go over to Ghirardelli, get a milkshake. They do bring the boys to the yard. Audrey's ready for bed. Jenna says yes. So yeah, that's our top five. Food and other things so. If you're going to Disneyland or Disney World, we did mention a few Disney World foods that we really like. Some things that we've been told

00:33:41about as like the the, the spring rolls at Disneyland, Disney World, yes, which are either the cheeseburger or the pizza. Those are on our top. That's the that is at the top of our list to try the next time we. Go. I also hear I'm not a big nuts guy. I don't care for nuts, but the roasted cinnamon almonds. Yes. Nuts, or I guess you don't have to say nuts, but those, those are really. Yeah, I hear good, great things about those. Also, you know, what I want to do is the, the, like, custom popcorn on Main Street where you can get where you can like,

00:34:27choose your toppings and all that, 'cause we don't have that. Yeah. At Disneyland, Yeah. And you love Pop. You don't love, like, sweet with your popcorn, though. No, I love sweet and. I like, I like caramel popcorn. Popcorn. That's true. I like caramel popcorn, Yeah. Oh, and we need to try goodnight. We need to try so many things. We need to try the Maple popcorn from Canada and. That Oh, and what about the the the the we get? I'm not even going to try to pronounce this place in Germany the the caramel shop. Oh yeah, we went in there, remember, But it was like.

00:35:07It was super busy. We also had been like eating and then so we go in there and this, I mean, it smells amazing, but we were like it, it was, we had eaten so much. It was to the point where it didn't smell good because we were like, I was just going to give me a tummy ache. Like I was like, oh, I can't, I can't get anything in here. Even with the boys. I took the boys in there or the kids. They make fresh caramel popcorn. Yeah. And we went in there. I had the kids. I don't know where you were. I went, I had the kids in there and but the line was really long and none of them wanted anything.

It's like Glacey blah blah blah. Glacine, Glacine. Yeah. That's it Where? Am I? That's the hotel.

00:36:56Here we go. I know they have savory crepes and I had a savory crepe. I just, I just, it just wasn't my thing. Just wasn't, wasn't me. Croak, glassy croak. Glassy. So I get. Both times I've had this, I got the white chocolate coconut ice cream with chocolate syrup and yeah. And then they it's really good. It's really good. I love white chocolate. I love coconut. I wanted to see then if it was going to be open next week because I was like, well then we have to do it next week because our last trip, so our our 12 year old, when we finally got him on it, it became like. His favorite ride tied with I think Hyperspace I think, or maybe Everest now, I don't know. Anyways, he loves in credit coaster. When we were there in the summer, we went to go ride it. It had just broke down and we were waiting and waiting and waiting and it wouldn't open and we were driving home and we were

00:40:22like, buddy, we got to get going like and it didn't reopen. So he was so bummed. And then our nine year old had wanted to ride it and said he was going to, but when we got there he decided he didn't want to, which it was broken down anyway. So but now he's like, no, I'm ready now. I won't. I really want to ride it. So I was like, Oh my gosh, when they said that when they were like. Credit coasters going to be closed for the first round. I was like. No, but rise is going to be. Close. Yeah, rise is going to be sometimes. We don't do.

00:40:51That anyway, no, it's just our oldest. That's his one of his favorite rides and so he always wants to try to ride it And but yeah, it's going to be a first lanned refurb ever. I know it's been closed for a period of time before to fix the, the, the cannons cannons, but they're they're shutting it down for a while to actually work on it 'cause there last time I went, there was a lot on it that wasn't working. Like a lot of the, the, the thin animatronics, like when you're in the 8 the, the atat room, he's like not moving. He's like stuck. I was like, you know, but so. So yeah, see, I don't even remember the last time I've been on that ride.

00:41:34It's been a. Long. It's a great ride. I love that ride. You dissing rise. No, I just can skip it and I usually do. Because we skip a lot. Well, and I will skip it too because you'll take the boys on and I'm not like we don't want to get a rider's swap and do the whole line again. Disney World has a single rider that ride but when you do it you bypass you bypass the the whole like pre show. Even when you get on the. Yeah, so you when you go through it, you bypass the the shuttle part where you get captured and you walk straight into the death *. So do you miss the big room with
